Kidnapped by the obscure Santino, she finds herself falling for her captor, a young billionaire driven by a thirst for revenge.
“Sorry, but there’s no wedding happening today. You’re coming with me,” he said, his voice laced with a chilling amusement. Before Rory could react, he grabbed her waist, lifting her in a bridal style.
In the middle of the bustling street, under the scorching sun, Rory was kidnapped by this unknown man, the wedding car left abandoned.
“No… No! Let me go!” Rory screamed, finally recovering from the shock and realizing what was happening.
The man, however, swiftly got into the car, leaving Rory trapped beside him in the backseat.
Rory ripped off her veil, her gaze fixed on her captor. “What do you want from me? Why did you take me? Look, you won’t get anything from an old woman like me,” she said, her voice trembling slightly.
Rory’s words were met with silence. The man’s gaze was intense, unsettlingly so. He wasn’t ordinary.
“You’re rich,” he finally replied, a smirk twisting his lips. He pointed to her expensive wedding dress, a half-billion dollar piece.
“You’re from the Jihoon and Alto families, right?” he asked, his hand reaching for her neck. Fear gripped Rory as he touched her, a cold dread spreading through her.
"Starting today, things are definitely going to get interesting
Torn between duty and desire, Solveigh must choose between a life of quiet desperation and a chance at true love with a man who embodies both danger and protection.
Rory gasped as the man shoved her against the wall. Her body stiffened, and she forcefully commanded him to leave her alone.
"Scared of your fiancé seeing us?" the man sneered. Rory tried to push him away, but her strength seemed to fail her.
Their passionate connection ignites amidst a backdrop of family secrets and devastating betrayals...
“I want to go back to the Philippines,” Rory said. Her recovery was stable and fast.
The assistant and Santino’s friend exchanged glances after hearing that. Santino was in the living room when Rory approached him and said she wanted to go back.
“Am I a joke to you, sister? How dare you think I’ll bring you back?” Santino asked, angrily grabbing Rory’s arm and telling her not to be abusive.
“What, are you going back to that idiot who doesn’t even remember you or make an effort to find you when you disappear?” Santino shouted. He firmly stated that Rory belonged to him, whether she liked it or not.
“I’m the reason you’re still alive today, remember that,” Santino added, letting go of Rory’s arm nonchalantly. Rory’s ears seemed to ring after hearing that.
Rory clenched her fist and said she didn’t want to live.
“I never asked you to save me! Why do all of you want to use and control me? Did you ask me if I wanted to be saved? If I wanted to live?” Rory yelled. Santino paused and gripped the document he was holding tightly.
“You’ve done so much for me, you saved me, but I can’t give you my all sincerity to thank you, and I have nothing to offer because right now, even the will to live is gone,” she added. For the past month, Rory was aware of the many favors Santino had done for her.
Even though she was asleep and unconscious, it didn’t mean she couldn’t hear. Due to her condition, half of her organs needed to be replaced and operated on. Santino went to different countries to personally obtain those organs, and sometimes he had to get them illegally even it is dangerous for him.
“You’re not in a position to decide if what I did was worth it or not. I’m not expecting your sincerity, or expecting you to thank me,” Santino said. Rory paused and slightly raised her gaze.
“In short, I don’t expect anything from you because I know you’re stupid enough to blame the person who saved you and blame yourself for the mistakes of others,” he added, kneeling on the floor.
He poked Rory’s forehead and called her a pig-brained fool.
“I totally overstimate you. Instead of replacing your lungs, I should have prioritized replacing your brain.”
Leaving them both fighting for a second chance at happiness.
