His Conquest (Lawyers club Book 2)Updated at Jul 22, 2021, 23:56
Once upon a time, there was a greek man who fell deeply in love with a greek woman, and while they planned to wait, planned to spend years with each other before marriage, there was only so much they could do against two mothers who wanted to see them bound by the church. As bad luck would have it... the groom's mother fell ill, so, in comes the fantastic, responsible, highly recommended Wedding Planner!
Wilhemina Becker put her childhood OCD diagnosis to good use, channeling it into her work while also being creative, she became a wedding planner, she's done weddings, baby shower, 21st birthday parties, funerals, divorce parties, graduations, promotions, and just about any other time someone could hire her to pop a bottle open.
As she navigates the world of lawyers, she tries to keep her motto in the forefront of her mind. Not dating ANYONE she has met at work. No grooms, no brother of the groom, no best men, no uncles, no cousins, no one.
No matter how relentless they are.
And David Barnes is relentless. He does sue people for a living so he had the advantage of never giving up until he got the outcome he wanted. Now that he has a bet going with his friends younger brother, he can't take no for a permanent answer. Not only was 1000 bucks on the line, his pride can take so many hits before he takes it too personally.
So, he cheats, just a little. He orders his new chair on a big case, aka the bride, to talk him up, to make sure that he seemed like a good catch. For her it gets her on a real case, second chair, able to show her stuff, and all she thinks she is doing is setting up two people who she thinks might be good together.
Too bad at the reception everything goes to shit when someone learns about the bet, someone realizes they're in love, and everyone is surprised by the revelation at the end of the night.
