the dresses

1003 Words
We all said yes and Hildy promptly closed the door and locked it. The frosted glass on the door guaranteed that no one could see in or out. She brought out the most beautiful light green dress any of us had ever seen. Hildy asked Amelia to stand next to it. Hildy said a few words and the dress started to glow and change before our very eyes. The sleeves became cute ball caps. The top part of the dress had a v shape and corset style that laced up the back. The skirt was big and flowing. It had a small train on it. It was short enough that Amelia wasn’t going to trip over it as it came to the top of her ankles. It still hid her feet though. Attached to the back by her shoulder blades were see through green fabric that came all the way down and blended in with the skirt. Hildy asked Amelia “ What is your pack, Little Luna?” “Silver wolf ma’am.” Amelia said in awe. Hildy smiled and said a few more words and silver wolves appeared on the green. Everywhere, even the see-through green had silver wolves. Hildy went and turned down the lights. Everything glowed. It was amazing. Everything that I wished for and hoped Amelia would like. I looked over at Amelia and her mouth was open in an O and her hand was covering it. “That is the most spectacular dress I have ever seen, Hildy thank you so much. I love it.” Hildy nodded and turned on the lights. She took a picture of the dress as the glow faded. “No one can copy this, and it will bring out your eyes. Now, Brenda, I have YOUR dress ready.” I looked confused, as I hadn’t commissioned my dress. I completely forgot about it. I was going to get something off a rack somewhere. Hildy pulled a darker version of the green dress that Amelia had. There was only one sleeve. It was skin tight and had a slit up the side. It was sexy as hell, but still elegant. It had silver beading around all the edges. There was a silver chain that went around her waist. The chain came together on either end of a glowing wolf. “Oh Bren, that will look amazing on you. It compliments everything about you.” Amelia said in awe. I looked over at Brandon, who seemed kind of mad about it. Brandon, are you ok? Do you not like it? I mind-linked Brandon. I am just wondering how many guys I am going to have to fight off with you in that dress. You’re mine. You're my mate. I know it. I will challenge anyone else otherwise. With that, Brandon shut off the mind link. He kept his face neutral as mine was blushing deeply. I turned my attention back to Hildy. “So umm yeah we will take both dresses and umm give yourself a generous tip as the Alpha can damn well afford it and umm thank you so much.” I managed to get out. Hildy was giggling and Amelia was smiling ear to ear. My mind was going a million miles a minute about what Brandon had just told me. I was trying to figure out what else needed to be done. Amelia gave Hildy the card as her hands seemed not to be working. Amelia asked for the dresses to be boxed and sent to the reception desk. Hildy put a spell on them so that they looked completely different to the actual ball. We thanked her profusely, grabbed the ticket and left. “Lunch? I'm hungry.” Brandon said with a smile and pep in his step. The jerk just told me everything that I wanted to hear and now he’s hungry, what the actual f**k. “Pizza?” he suggested. We went to the center of the mall where the food court was located. We ended up at a restaurant that is known to serve some of the best pizza around. “Are we all getting our own or are we sharing? I asked. Amelia looked at me. “You know how this goes. You and I will split a stuffed crust cheese and pepperoni, Brandon will have his own stuffed 3 meat pizza, and we all have a Sprite to drink.” We waited for the waitress to come take our order as we talked more, we heard an obnoxious screech. “OMG!!! Sister, I didn’t know you knew about this mall. OMG!! Does that mean you're taking this ball seriously? You're not going to go in sweatpants and a stained shirt?” Emily’s obnoxious voice was equal to nails on a chalkboard. They were passing by the pizza parlor. “You're eating pizza? You're brave not watching your figure. Well, I have things to do and get. After all, the prince will be there. I'm sure to catch his eye. See ya,” With that she flung her hair over one shoulder and with her posse they left. Our pizza arrived, and we ate in silence, the mood only slightly dampened. We paid and went in the opposite way of Emily and her crew. We went to the cape store. If it was cold, then we wanted to be prepared. There was a light green cloak and velvet lined and had pockets on the inside. Perfect for Amelia. I picked a dark green with silver thread throughout for mine. Both had detachable hoods. Amelia looked at me. “Your dress and that cape really compliment you. Your hair is going to shine, and the dark green makes your eyes stand out. You will look amazing.” I smiled, thanking her for the compliment. Along with the capes, we each got pure long white gloves that had dark silver wolves on them at the elbows. We paid and got the tickets, sending all this to reception.
