Little Luna Ameila

Amelia looked carefully at the letter she clutched in her hands. She got off her bed slowly. She clutched the letter to her chest with excitement. Even though her back was protesting from the workout earlier. Now she was freshly showered and ready to handle the day. She made a mental list of everything that had to be done. As she was going down the hall she saw one of her best friends, Brenda. When there was no one around they were informal, however due the constraints of the pack there were certain protocols that had to be followed, so they bowed slightly, “Little Luna. Do you need your room cleaned or tidied up?” Amelia looked at Brenda, “No, thank you, Brenda. As I’ve told you before, you can simply call me Amelia when it's just us. Also, I tend to look after my own room and things, but if you need to hide out from the dragon, I completely understand and give you permission to hide out. There are movies and books in there that, if you want to watch or read, please help yourself.” Brenda half smiled as a thanks and proceeded to go down the hallway. Brenda may have been an Omega, but they were best friends. Brenda had made awful times more bearable. In the hallways, though, they acted more professional, as Luna Ann had been furious about discovering this friendship. Amelia made her way to her twin sister’s room, Emily. They looked alike, but their personalities were as different as night to day. Emily was bitter, self-absorbed, arrogant, and needy. Amelia was giving, kind, patient, and loving. That is how she earned the title “Little Luna”. Their mother, the current Luna, still held the title but long gave up on the duties of Luna. Amelia just quietly took over with no complaints. Amelia went and knocked on Emily’s door three times and waited. “Who is it? What do you want? This had better be damn important as I am busy”, Emily snapped as she opened the door with her phone to her ear; upon seeing Amelia she never stopped what she was doing. “What? I’m busy.” “Yeah right. You are probably talking to your next hookup. Hang up the phone. I have something to tell you that isn’t meant for the public. You will like it because it gives you a reason to go shopping.” Amelia waited with her arms crossed over her chest waiting for Emily to hang up the phone, still holding the letter in one hand. Emily rolled her eyes and hung up the phone with a hurried goodbye. “What’s going on? And since when do I need an excuse to go shopping?" Emily started to laugh sarcastically. “Can I come in at least?” Amelia asked, still standing in the hallway. “Ugh I guess. Close the door, sis. Dramatic much?” Emily replied in a sarcastic voice. Amelia closed the door and leaned against it, not daring to go any further than necessary. “Our brother is coming home. He will be here in 1 month, which means there is going to be a ball. So you need to be prepared. It’s going to be black and white, tuxes, and formal dress. Nothing slutty or skanky. This isn’t a club scene so please make sure that your boobs are put away and your cooch isn’t about to show. I’m going to tell Mama and Daddy right now.” Without another word Amelia left Emily’s room. She made her way down the hall and went downstairs to her mother’s and father’s offices. Her mother, Luna Ann, was usually there pretending to work as she didn’t trust anyone around her husband, Alpha Cedric. Alpha Cedric may have been older, but he was still quite the looker. He was 6 ft with black hair, blue eyes, and in fine muscular shape. He was also known as the dragon around the pack as his temper was fierce and he could be a beast. Luna Ann was petite at 5 ft and had short cropped brown hair and green eyes that could melt you if you looked at her the wrong way. She was even jealous of her daughters. Shortly before Adam left for training Luna Ann had started to teach both girls about Luna duties, but only Amelia took an interest so she taught her and once Ann was confident that Amelia could do the job, Ann let her. So now Ann just sits in the office and plays candy crush or looks at f*******: or Packlands (the equivalent of f*******: but only for werewolves.) Amelia hoped both of her parents were in so that she could start the work of getting the ball together a little easier. Again she took a deep breath to steady herself and knocked three times. She waited for an answer. She waited another minute before she heard the shuffling of papers and a gruff “ENTER" from her father. She walked into the office with her head down and curtsied waiting for permission to speak. Even though Amelia was doing most of the Alpha and Luna duties, there was still stuff that required signatures from them. Alpha Cedric also liked to keep up with current events. “What do you want?” Alpha Cedric said, “Look at me when you speak and don’t stutter.” Amelia slowly raised her head and nodded slowly,” Alpha Cedric, Luna Ann; I'm sorry to interrupt your work, but I have news that you might want to know. My brother, your son is due home in a month.” Amelia waited for a reaction. She stood there with her arms behind her back waiting to see what they would say and do. Luna Ann got very quiet, and Alpha Cedric started to drum his fingers on his desk and stroke his chin. “Well,” he said slowly looking at Amelia, “ I guess this means that we are throwing a ball to greet him and that means that things around will change. Since you know everyone and we all know that Luna Ann isn’t going to really be up to the task. This ball had better be one hell of a party and one to be remembered. If it's not young lady, I would have no problem putting you in the cells and leaving you there. Do you understand?” Amelia nodded, not saying a word. She looked at her father and cautiously said, “ I understand father. I won’t let you down. Since I only have a month, may I have Brenda and Brandon help me get things done?” Alpha Cedric didn't say a word and nodded in consent. “I shall mind link them and have them meet you in MY library. Also, there needs to be a seating chart and all your brother's favorite foods.” Amelia curtseyed and headed out the door. Brandon was supposed to be the future beta of the pack, however due to a permanent leg injury he was held back by Alpha Cedric. The training that Adam had gone to was for five years. It was meant for Alphas and Betas. The training happens every five years and when they come back there is always a ball. This year it fell to the Silver Wolf Pack, the most elusive werewolf pack of them all. Even the Royal family wasn’t as elusive. There were 8 packs total, with the Silver Wolf Pack being the largest. Amelia mind linked Brenda and Brandon, “Hey guys meet me in my room to help me grab stuff. The dragon doesn’t realize how much we have already done. So let's grab the paperwork and charts and head to the library. Be quick.” “Little Luna just meet us at the library. We already grabbed the stuff. I grabbed Brandon as soon as I heard you say to Emily that your brother was coming back. I kinda listened as you NEVER go to Emily’s room without reason. I apologize.” Brenda replied.
