Jessica waited with bated breath after he rushed her into the elevator. His suite was approaching soon and her heart was beating faster than ever. Things escalated quickly in the car and she didn't even think for a moment that William would actually bring her to his suite willingly. Especially when they were supposed to go along with her mother in law. She knew she did something to trigger him, but she didn't know what kind of consequences they had. She had to tread lightly if she wanted to get out of this unharmed and also victorious. She really hoped that William taking her on physically was a start to her journey towards becoming his lawfully wedded wife.
The elevator opened with a ding and William grabbed her hand and pulled her along to keep up with him.
Somebody can't wait!
He fiddled with the keypad, opened the door and soon as they got in, he pinned her to a wall in the hallway, her wrists locked in his palms above her head and hungrily devoured her lips.
God, this woman looks gorgeous! William thought to himself as he kissed her again. He drew her closer to himself, closing the inches that were left between their bodies. His lips slid down her neck and Jessica shuddered in response.
This man knew exactly what he was doing!
William pulled back and stared at her face to gauge her reaction.
"Is this what you've wanted?" He muttered. "To sleep with me?"
Jessica reeled back into reality from the ecstasy earlier. Her face was beet red. "I always want something more from you, William. I just thought that the bed was a great place to start," she took a step closer to him.
"So you've aimed for my body?" He scoffed. "You're never getting anything more than this. I'll make sure of that."
She wasn't just doing this out of her enjoyment. She had an agenda to take care of. She needed to be recognised as the wife of William in the society for the final boost her company requires. In the past one year she really didn't have anything to live for. In fact, there were times when she wanted to end her life and finally find peace. She was never successful in doing so, and maybe it was for the best. Maybe god kept her alive for a reason. When she got out of the hospital, she had something to live for. She needed to bring Moore back to its former glory and people depended on her to do that. She just couldn't throw away decades of legacy just because life was hurting her. If she fell down, she just had to get back up, dust herself and charge on ahead. She also had to find out who this 'master' was who was helping her out ever since she got out of the hospital.
Jessica looked like she had something to say, but she held herself back. She was already getting more than she thought she would and she wasn't going to ruin it herself.
William blinked at her, still trying to understand what was going on in her head.
"Do you perhaps have feelings for me?" William questioned, his head tilted to the side like a cute and confused puppy.
"There are many feelings about you, William. But let's enjoy the moment for now," she said and went for a kiss.
William forcefully put her against the wall and she cringed in slight pain. Whatever feelings she might have for him, she knew that he didn't reciprocate them. He was just using her to vent his needs and nothing else. She was some force of release for him and that was about it. There was a pang in her heart when the realization dawned on her.
Were they just bedmates?
It was no longer physically enjoyable. His every touch felt like a burn on her skin and she wanted to get away from there as soon as possible. He was being absolutely rough on her.
"It hurts…" Jessica cried out and William pulled away almost instantaneously.
He turned her to face him and softly kissed the tear running down her cheek. Why was this woman both strong and vulnerable with him at the same time? She was making him very confused about their entire situation and the current arrangement. What was she trying to pull?
He lifted her up and sat her down in his bathtub, turning on the faucet. "Wash up," he mumbled and walked outside.
Sighing to herself, she stared at the door through which he left moments ago. He was being resentful of her and the very next moment, he was being absolutely tender. How was it possible? She needed to know what was going on in his head.
By the time she got out of the bathroom, she found William already showered and his majestic beauty was covered with nothing but a bathrobe. Water dripped down his hair and neck and Jessica couldn't help but follow their trail down his chest and to mysterious places down south.
Jessica shook her head. It was no time to act like a highschool girl. She walked around the suite for her clothes but they were nowhere to be found. Concerned, she searched harder until she bumped into William's stoic figure.
"What happened?" He asked, frowning at her.
"My clothes…" she trailed off, still trying to look for them.
"They'll be back tomorrow," he said, walking away from her.
"Wait!" She called, holding his hand. "What do you mean they'll be back tomorrow?"
"It means that they've been sent to the laundry," he rolled his eyes, releasing his hand from hers.
"And what am I supposed to wear now?" She frowned. She was supposed to go back to Moore. She had a lot of work to do.
"I thought you were already wearing something," he looked at the towel wrapped around her body and his eyes turned dark with lust.
"Stop kidding with me, William. I need my clothes!" Jessica exclaimed, wrapping her towel tighter around her body.
"I've already seen everything. There's no point hiding them," William took a step closer and Jessica automatically moved a step away from him. He looked enticing but dangerous, like a predator about to pounce on its prey.
Jessica averted her eyes from his extremely sexy body that was approaching her. She just had to do it to maintain self control. "I have to go, William," she said.
He frowned. "No," he said.
She looked back up at him. "What do you mean, no? I have to go! I have work that needs to be done. We have to go back to Camilla too!"
"Didn't you say that we could play together all the time?" He smirked and pushed her onto the bed. "So where do you think you are going?"
Did he take her too seriously? Well, he shouldn't be blamed. After all, the way she suggestively pitched
the idea of them playing together and he couldn't be blamed for her actions.
"But…"
"Sleep here," he said. "With me."
Jessica was taken off guard with his words ringing in her ears. His voice was so gentle, almost tender in nature. It was like he didn't want her to leave him yet. Was her step of sleeping with him a success?
Jessica's phone rang and she fished it out from underneath the pillows. It was her mother in law and she had no idea what to tell her about her whereabouts. She couldn't just wing it and tell her that her son and her had a steamy time together while she was waiting for them.
As she stared at the ringing phone, William snatched it up from her hands and raised his eyebrows at the caller.
"Hello," he said, picking up her phone.
"William! Where have you guys been? Where's Jessica?"
"She's with me. Let's meet tomorrow," he said curtly.
"What do you mean tomorrow? Do you want to leave your mother alone, especially on her first day here?" Camilla sounded exasperated.
"I don't think it should be so hard for you mother, considering the fact that you have been by yourself for the past few years. Another day shouldn't make a difference. Especially to you," he said spitefully and hung up the phone. William looked irritated and Jessica observed him carefully. It didn't seem like William and his mother were getting along well. As far as she knew, William was always very close to his mother. She knew that William despised her for getting him married to her, but that didn't mean that he would push away his own mother. But as soon as they got married, Camilla just took off and didn't get back to either of them. She didn't know what happened and the woman was known to be tight lipped with her personal affairs.
The next day, William and Jessica went back to Camilla as promised. Jessica took William's arm as soon as they got out of the car and he threw a suspicious look at her. She knew how to put up an act!
"What are you doing?" William asked, subtly trying to pull away his arm from her grip, but she had a strong hold and wasn't going to give up that easily, especially in front of Camilla.
"Stop struggling," Jessica huffed under her breath, tightening her hold.
Camilla stared at the scene unfold in front of her with awe. She never thought that she would see these two in front of her be hand in hand. Were they close now? Did she miss something the days that she was away from them?
William insisted on leaving after breakfast even though Camilla begged them to stay back. Both of them had back to back meetings and it couldn't be avoided. To get away quickly, William offered to drop Jessica and she couldn't be more thankful. Camilla could be quite persuasive at times.
As they reached Moore Company, their car slowed down and Peter frowned. "There seem to be a lot of reporters gathered around the building, William."
William sighed, taking notice of them. They were around 2 blocks away from Moore and the car came to a stop.
"Jessica, get down," he said.
"But we're not there yet," she complained.
"I don't care that we're not there yet. Just get down and walk back," he said coldly.
He didn't want to be on the headlines because he was caught dropping Jessica off. And this would be a great leverage point for her to come out with their marriage news. Thinking about it, why were there so many reporters gathered around her company in the morning? Was it her who called them? Was this the scene she was about to make? To go public with their marriage? If it was so, she was a devious woman. He couldn't let that happen. Not a chance!
"Camilla asked you to drop me off safely at my office. Is this what you call safe, when there are reporters swarming around my office?" She questioned raising an eyebrow.
"I have no obligation to listen to her or you. Now get out," he said.
It was not the time or place to get into an argument with him. She did feel bad that he kicked her out that way, but it was no time to brood about it. Even she was curious as to why there were so many reporters outside her office. Getting out of the car, she began dialing Charles, but to no avail. She tried out other personnel in her office, but all of them seemed to be engaged on phones. What the hell was going on?
Dread settled in the bottom of her stomach as she walked towards her building. Quickly dodging the reporters, Jessica made a beeline to her office.
"Jessica!" Charles called out as soon as he spotted her. He hung up the call he was on and ran to her looking like a mad man. "Jessica, there seems to be something wrong with the land that we've agreed for the project. All the reporters are gathered and activists are turning in. This is so much trouble!" Charles handed her a couple of documents.
Jessica's heart sank as soon as she looked at them. What was going on?
