By the time William came out of a meeting in his office, Peter, his driver, was pacing around anxiously. Upon spotting William, he rushed to him.
"William, your mother has just arrived in Westford," he said.
"So why are you here instead of picking her up from the airport?" William frowned.
"I had actually gone to the airport but your mother sent me back, asking me to bring you along," he said hesitantly.
His mother, Camilla disappeared for two years after she got them married and finally decided to return to Westford. And the woman didn't feel the need to even inform him of her arrival. She directly called his driver instead of him.
Jessica waited nervously at the airport, her eyes constantly searching for the familiar figure of her mother in law. Camilla was a tall and elegant woman whose grace was unparalleled. She was looked up to by many men and women alike and she was wise beyond her years. She was partially the reason why the Patel Corporation was so widespread and respected.
Jessica had not seen Camilla for over two years. She was the reason why she was now William's wife. Camilla had taken interest in her one fine day and soon she was hauled into William's life as his shackles for a lifetime. But she never hated the woman. She had nothing to do with William being a sour puss. It was all on him.
Camilla arrived in business casuals, looking as stunning as ever. In one sweep of the crowd, she spotted Jessica and grinned at her, waving lightly.
"You look beautiful today! Welcome back, Camilla," Jessica smiled, hugging her.
"And so are you! It's great to be back!" She looked around worriedly. "Where's William? I thought I asked you both to come and pick me up."
Jessica sighed internally. Camilla had no idea about the state of affairs between her son and herself. She's been gone for too long and honestly it wasn't her fault to ask her about her husband, especially when the said person was her own blood.
"Um, William had a lot of work so he wasn't able to come today," she smiled weakly.
Camilla rolled her eyes. "That man needs to be taught a lesson in familial duties! Well, this is not done! Peter, bring my son here right now!"
William sighed deeply as Peter drove him to the airport. "You said Jessica was there too?"
"Yeah and your mother is expecting you there as soon as possible. I'm doing everything I can to hurry you there," he replied, checking his watch.
They arrived soon enough and it wasn't really hard for William to spot his mother. She had a bright aura and loud presence. He could see her laugh heartily with Jessica accompanying her.
Jessica suddenly spotted the very familiar tall figure walking towards them. He didn't look pleased to be there nor was he going to be pleased seeing her face. Camilla asked her to bring William along but they were in no talking condition.
"There's my boy!" Camilla clapped, delighted to see her son after a long time. She extended her arms and pulled him into a hug.
"Mom, why didn't you tell me that you were going to be back?" William questioned as he quietly sized her up.
"The question is, would you have come here to pick me up even if I told you?" She firmly asked, placing her hands on her hips.
William sighed. He was not ready for this kind of conversation, especially with his mother. "I'll drop mom off, you can carry on with your work," William finally met Jessica's eyes, and his face showed no emotion.
Jessica rolled her eyes. First he didn't acknowledge her existence and now he is instructing her on what to do. She wasn't going to comply. "We'll, I'm alright actually. I will drop her off, if you don't mind," Jessica smirked at him, causing him to tense up in anger.
"I said I'll drop her off," he growled and his eyes darkened. "You can leave."
"And I said that I'm alright and that I can drop her off. You never intended on coming, so why ask me to leave?" Jessica didn't look away from his menacing eyes.
Camilla looked at the scene unfolding in front of her. She hadn't expected much from them. They were not in love to begin with and knowing her son, he was a tough nut to c***k. It would have been a surprise if they actually lived together after just 2 years and if their feelings towards each other progressed in the right direction.
"I don't want you guys to fight over such a silly thing, especially after I've come back after such a long time. Why don't you both send me off together. It'll be a nice drive," she suggested.
Jessica sighed. Camilla knew by now that they had made no progress on the emotional front. But that didn't mean that Jessica had to make it alright.
They got out of the airport to find two cars waiting for them.
"How about you both come in William's car and I leave in yours? I could really use a nap," she said, getting into the car. "See you guys later," she waved and they drove off, leaving Jessica to follow her with William.
As soon as the doors closed, William cupped her face roughly and turned her to face his menacing face. "You stay away from my mother."
His fingers dug into her cheeks and it hurt her. But for some reason, just his touch was enough to drive her crazy. He had a hold on her, but she was never going to let him know.
"She's my mother too," Jessica sneered while struggling, trying to pry away his hand from her face.
"I know what you're scheming here," William's eyes narrowed, his grip tightening around her jaw. "You want to have a good relationship with my mother so that you can get access to our fortune. I'll never let that happen, you hear me? Even if you suck up to her, I'm still not putting aside that divorce."
"I'm not trying to have a good relationship with your mother because I already have it. In fact, the relationship is so good that I landed her son for a lifetime. So, William, I don't have to suck up to her for anything. But if we are on the subject of sucking," Jessica trailed off, her eyes sizing his entire body and William pulled away his hand from her face. "And as for the divorce, trust me, you'll not be divorced from me."
"Is that so? Then we'll see how long you'll last holding on to my mother and this failed marriage," he said, turning away from her.
Jessica laid a delicate finger on William's neck and trailed down the length letting a shudder out of him. "I think I can hold on very well," she whispered in his ear, nibbling on it as she retreated.
This damn woman was so difficult that William couldn't do anything to just keep her away from him. She was frustrating but at the same time very good in bed. To be very honest, the night that they spent together was probably one of the nights he slept very well in the past few years. He would never admit it to anyone or himself, but there was a feeling of missing her in his heart.
"Don't challenge me, Jessica. You can't afford to play this way," he trailed his finger down her cheek.
She gently moved his finger and sucked on it. "If I can't afford to play, then maybe you should. If we don't get divorced then we can play together all the time," she licked the length of his finger. "You can do whatever you like."
One flick of her tongue and his pants got tight. Even though he wasn't, little William was eager to play with Jessica.
"I'm not responsible if you don't like the game," William looked dangerous but enticing.
Jessica bit her lip. "Trust me, I'd love it."
Her face and voice turned him on till a point where it was just painful to sit next to her and do nothing. William wasted no breath before barking orders to his driver. "Take us to my suite. Now!" Lowering his mouth to her ear, he whispered, "I can't wait to play with you."
