Well I think you are right, it's best that those things just stay stories, we are teenagers and we will fight and regain our land.”
“Now, that’s the spirit,” Daniel exclaims softly as he stops then lifts his eyes to the city wall. “Maybe we should climb the wall to have a little nice view.”
“That seems like a good way to spend the night,” Nathan agrees softly with his gaze still on the wall.
“Come on…,” Daniel makes his way forwards as Nathan follows him behind.
Kyle follows the trail of their footsteps into the desert as he keeps matching forwards despite it being night. Luckily he was able to trace their footprint that night due to the full moon.
It was lonely and dark still In the desert, his throat was dry as after a few steps more he stopped gently sitting down on the sand.
He thought the best idea was to go with Gilbert and Felix but without his friends it wasn't a good action to take.
‘Goodness, I'm going to die,’ he fell flat on the sand with his gaze upward, he examined the stars as the calm air blew across him.
Few minutes later Kyle hears voices from a far distance at his left, as it were like that of Multitudes so he turns towards the at direction only to see a bright fiery glow as when he examines it closely he noticed they were woods which were lit up as he also perceived it to be humans who were scaling their way through the desert.
‘I have to go after them,’ he thought to himself as he quickly stood up on his feet heading to the direction the light was coming from.
It was a long walk, the closer he got the more he was able to recognize the place.
At sight he could see figures of humans who were sitting down and the large woods also lit in his hands as the noises were getting louder but still he was unable to hear them clearly.
His feet kept sinking in and out of the multitude of sands which he thought was frustrating as it drains a lot of his energy.
His eyes were still fixed on the fire while he was making quick steps. After a while he got closer to the extent he was able to identify the people he saw, they were indeed humans but their actions speaks otherwise, with intense gaze he examined their movements more closely, especially that of two of them who were having a tournament in their midst as the others round watches.
They flipped like wild creatures, their actions were weird and even the sound of their voices were a little bit cruel.
Kyle was a little confused so he stopped a little distance as he lay flat on the sand to first understand them before making his approach.
He thought about the humans In his current time different from the future from whence he came as his point was since people of old times had some wild characteristics it could be that the people here were also like mannered. Nevertheless there was still a slight disagreement In his mind because the civilians he rescued earlier from the orcs cave were well mannered except for their slightly odd dress pattern, also their intonations were better.
The battle and urge to approach for help kept him confused and uncertain as after a while his thirst for water drew him into action as he gently stood up.
He was about to take a step forward as someone came from his side knocking him to the floor and they both fell drastically.
He turned quickly to see who it was as he met the gaze of Kelvin staring directly at him with his left hand holding Kyle's shirt and his right fist clenched towards his face.
“Kyle,” Kelvin whispers as he lets go of Kyle's shirt then stands on his feet. “What are you doing here?”
Kyle dusts his shirt when he stands on his feet as he glances up at Kelvin and also at Gilbert, Saul and Felix who approached from behind with a little boy with them.
“Why didn’t you join your friends?” Felix asks.
“They had already left before my arrival at our meeting point, so I have been tracing their footprint which led me here,” Kyle turns to the people who were sighted a little distant. “Those people who ate them? Don’t you think it would be nice if we asked help from them,” he turned again to Felix and the others whose gaze was at the group of people.
“Lets just say you were lucky you never asked for their help,” Saul moves across him.
“Wait… what does he mean by that?” He turns to Saul who keeps walking.
“Those people you see there are no humans, they are Nathaniel’s, cruel beasts who won’t think twice before ripping off the head of their victims,” Felix informs.
“Does Nathaniel's even exist?” Kyle whispers to himself as he lifts his gaze up at Felix again. “I’ve read about the existence of Nathaniel’s, I thought they are not harmful,”
Felix turns toward the Nathaniel’s who were still a little further. “They used to be kind and harmless but not after one of our late kings did something terrible to them, and ever since then, they have been cruel and despicable to humans,” he looks again at Kyle.
“Just be thankful you didn’t get close enough for them to smell your presence,” Gilbert interrupts as he and the others follows Saul.
“What does he mean by smelling my presence?” Kyle asked Felix.
“Nathaniel’s are able to smell humans, just like wild animals, it best you stay clear,” Felix followed them as I moved with him.
“By the way, where are you guys heading?” Kyle asks as Felix looks sideways at him.
“We are heading to our city, there it is more safe, at least it's safe enough to protect us from the three Kingdoms that are waging war against us,” Felix replied as Kyle was a little confused.
“What kingdoms?”
“There are four kingdoms that are trying so hard to dominate our world, the orc's, the Nathaniel’s but the third is the most deadly amongst them,” he hesitates.
Kyle, driven with curiosity, turns again towards him as he is desperate to figure out what this third species was. “What is the third? I want to hear it,”
“The third creature Is a mystical one, and very deadly, one which if you haven't seen you won’t quite believe it's existence is true,”
