The awakening
It is said that when things start falling apart that’s the moment a spring of hope arises. Hope can come in different ways but in their time It came through a young boy, and that boy was Kyle.
Kyle was sitting down close to the sea on the sandy beach with his eyes closed, it was a bright weather and he was delighted by the cool air that evening which brushed through his skin, exhaling calmly with the absolute harmony he had within him he could almost hear as if it were the heart of the waters and how the waves sounded like they were an instrument of ten strings.
After a while of being lost in his silence he felt the hand of someone placed on his right shoulder, as he whispered in Kyle's right ear.
“Quit the meditation, come and see what we found.” Even without his voice, Kyle knew it was Albert.
“Okay let’s go,” Kyle replied then opened his eyes as Albert laughed out loud.
“Come on so that you won’t miss the show,” He continued as Kyle stood up and they ran to the other side of the beach where their other friends were.
When they arrived the sight was amazing just as Albert had earlier said.
Staring at many dolphins spinning and jumping was entertaining, then Kyle shifted his gaze to his other friends who were having fun a little further from where he and Albert were standing.
“Where is Karen?” Kyle asked Albert who was standing next to him, as soon as he realised she was not with them.
“I have no idea,” Albert replied then looked towards them with a confused gaze as he slightly furrowed his face then hesitated for a while. "She was right there standing next to Bonny before I came looking for you."
From the look on Albert's face it was certain he was surprised as he shifted his face towards the cabin. "It could be that she went inside," He said.
“Have she seen the dolphins?” Kyle asked curiously with his eyes at the others.
“Of course,” Albert replied, gently petting his black hair which was a little wet.
“I’ll be back, let me check on her, ” Kyle told him as he walked towards the cabin.
When Kyle opened the door, he found her sitting on a chair with a book she was obviously reading as her countenance was a little saddened.
“Why aren't you with the others?” he asked, as he slowly walked towards her.
“Who would make someone leave such an amazing sight,” she replied, a little upset and moody but didn’t look up at him.
Kyle sighed slightly because he knew who she was referring to. “Sam I guess, but what can we do about him,” he sat beside her then looked into the book she was reading. “What book is that?” he asked curiously.
“Well I have no idea but it is about some false dragon which according to the writer was killed some years ago,” She replied then flipped to the next page.
“Well let me have a look,” Kyle said as she handed the book to him.
He opened the first page and discovered it was actually a history. "Dragon cave," Kyle said out the name of the book as he gently flipped through the pages.
Going through the pages Kyle was able to get some things related to some other history books he had read which matched perfectly, having a little sense in them. “Well this is actually a history and it corresponds to some other books i've read,” he said to Karen as she lifted her face at him.
“Are you telling me that these things are real? Because if you are, I might find it hard to believe,” Karen jercked.
"Yes they are real Karen," he assured her as they heard the door open quickly.
“Come, the both of you have to see this,” Albert said in fright as they looked up at him.
"What is the problem?" Kyle asked.
“All the dolphins are dead, we don’t know how but there was something in the water that just ate them all up, ” he replied as Kyle looked at Karen.
'How can that possibly have happened,' Kyle thought to himself as he could see in Karen's eyes that she too felt the same way.
He closed the book as they followed Albert outside.
They ran towards the others which were still staring at the ocean, and when they arrived Kyle's eyes made contact with the dead dolphin's and the ocean which was filled with their blood.
'What happened here?' He thought to himself.
The sight looked terrific as he had never seen anything like it before.
"How large was this creature?" He shifted his eyes at Bonny, one of my friends who was gazing at the ocean.
"I can't really tell since it didn't come out completely, but all we saw was it's head, and I must confess it was extremely large." She replied.
"Where is Stephen?" Sam, one of their friends known for his strength, asked curiously as he looked around.
"I thought he was right here with you guys," Kyle shifted his gaze at Sam.
"Yh, he was standing right next to me," Bonny replied.
"Hold on guys, let me go check on him," Karen said as She left.
Kyle stared at the dead dolphins once more then turned to leave as he heard a sound from the depth of the ocean which caused a little vibration in the ground.
He turned back towards the ocean a little startled due to the vibration then shifted his gaze at Sam, Bonny and Albert which were also frightened. "Did you hear that?" He asked them.
"Yes, I think we did," Albert replied as he gazed at the ocean.
"That is obviously not the sound of any sea creature." Sam said to us.
Kyle moved towards the ocean with his eyes fixed on the waters, then listened as the sound came again, but this time it was a lot louder.
"Guys, I don't like this, we have to get out of here," Albert said. "Quickly."
"I think you are right Albert, I am sure whatever is down there will be best not awoken." Kyle agreed.
"No, we have to know what it is," Sam insisted as he shifted his face at us then back to the ocean. "Whereas if it's a sea monster It won't be able to come to the land," he continued as he picked up a large stone then threw it into the water.
"No!" Kyle tried to stop him but it was too late as it had already landed into the sea. "Why did you do that Sam, we have no idea if whatever is in that water can also be terrecial," Kyle said angrily.
"Chill Kyle," Sam told him as he kept his eyes fixed on the ocean. The sound came up once more but this time it made the land shake more terribly like we were on some kind of volcano which was about to erupt.
"What have you done Sam," Kyle whispered to himself as a large sea monster pushed its head out of the ocean, with a large aggressive sound.
The sea monster looked forward at them with its hostile eyes full of terror.
"Goodness," Albert quivered. "Run guys, run…" he shouted as they all turned around.
"Where do we go?" Bonny asked as Kyle looked around.
"There, we have to get into the forest," he said out loud.
"No, we would be a lot more safe in the cabin," Sam shouted but they ignored him making their way towards the forest.
Kyle shifted his eyes backward as the monster came out of the sea. It looked more like a giant alligator, so large that the tip of its finger was like the size of a fully grown man.
Kyle stopped immediately when he saw Sam heading towards the cabin. "Sam.." Kyle called as Sam looked at him. "It is after you, don't get in there," Kyle said loudly as the monster shouted again.
Sam turned backward at the extremely large monster then back at him as he made his way running towards Kyle's direction.
