“I want to hear about this mythical creature,” Kyle said as Felix looked slightly at him as in that brief moment his eyes captured the deep curiosity In Kyle's eyes.
“They are magical beings, with abilities one can only get in supernatural fables, until now not all our citizens have believed in their existence. The name which was given to them in the legends was the Thracians, they are of four kinds as each kind bears one of four specific powers,” he hesitates. “their abilities are gotten from the four elements, fire, water, air and earth, but apart from these four lie one other which is most dangerous as only one from the royal blood could possess it,”
Kyle gave him an intense attention since he had the personality of someone who is willing to discover new things, he was patiently waiting for the next words which would proceed out of his mouth.
After a brief hesitation Felix continued. “Only those of the royal blood Is able to possess all four abilities with the final one which makes them different being the ability to take diverse forms, they can tame the form of humans, orc's, Nathaniel’s, and even objects,”
“How is that possible?” Kyle asked.
“I myself never believed it, but not until I spotted one myself when I was still tender,” Felix sounded more convincing. “Nevertheless that isn't all there is to them, one other thing they all have in common is the ability to take the form of statues, In that way you won’t see them coming. The are the most fierce,”
“This creature you speak of, where can I spot one?” Kyle asked.
“Their home lies towards the west of the desert, the stay beyond a white mountain which no one dares to go, many of the citizens tempted with curiosity have journeyed there but none had ever made it back alive,” he furrowed his eyebrows slightly.
“Where is your city?” Kyle asks.
“It's in this desert, further from here,” he replied with his gaze forward.
“I have to stop here, I have to find my friends, which I suppose will be out here somewhere,” Kyle stops as he looks around.
“No, Kyle, that's not advisable, I bet you won’t last a night here alone, either you are being kidnapped by orcs, you are being killed by Nathaniel’s or you are being torn apart by wolves,” Felix turns to him.
“Keep up guys,” Saul looks back to Kyle and Felix who stopped as so did Gilbert, Kelvin and the boy who they were with. He examines Kyle and Felix closely as he realizes that they were both having a brief disagreement so he heads back to them to discover what the issue was.
When he moved past Kelvin and Gilbert they also followed him.
“I have to find them, I can't leave them behind, if I wouldn’t be safe out here then they also won’t be,” Kyle made his point unknowingly that Saul, Kelvin and Gilbert also overheard him.
“What Is the problem?” Saul asked immediately he stopped at the place they were.
“I am afraid I will have to stop here, you guys should head on, I have to pick up the next trail of my friends so that I can find them,” Kyle turns to Saul.
“What? Don’t tell me that is your plan, because if that Is then be rest assured that you won’t even last a night here on your own,” Saul said to him.
“Still I have to find out, I can defend myself,” Kyle replied.
“what you are trying to do isn't survival rather it suicide,” Kelvin speaks up as Kyle turns to him.
“One positive attitude you have which can also put you into engraved danger is your selflessness, it's a good characteristic but it can sometimes be toxic,” Gilbert adds.
“I thought you and your friend had a specific meeting point, where you guys were supposed to gather before knowing your next step, but they escaped, why? Because they sighted some orc's close by, and here you are trying to risk your life for people who wouldn’t blink before betraying you,” Saul said.
“My friends aren't betrayer's,” Kyle furrows his eyebrows angrily at him.
“Yet, they left,” Felix interrupts as Kyle also looks at him. “They understood that if they remained there waiting to you then they would have been spotted by the orc's, if it's only because of danger then why didn’t they wait for you in the desert or probably come back for you after a long walk, because I’m certain their thirst for water and their hunger for food was more better than their patience for your arrival,” Felix takes a step closer. “Your friends are surviving and you have to learn to be one too,” he said gently this time. “Supposing they had arrived at a safe place, they will be left out here alone. We have done our best, now it's time for you to decide. It's either you go back for them or you come with us. I tell you the truth, it's better you die in our hands than in the hands of Nathaniel’s. If you live you will have a more better chance to find them and lead them to safety but if not, then you lost and will never be able to see them,”
Kyle looks away from them as he gives it a deep thought. He recalls clearly what his father would say about the situation ‘you must first be safe before you can lead others to safety,’ Those words resounds In his ears as after a while he glances up at them again.
“Okay, I will go with you guys but if my friends aren't within the walls of your city then I with have to leave in search of them again,”
“That would be alright with us, we can even join you in your search, as in our city we have horses, food and water,” Kyle said to him.
“But don’t be deceived, we are not friends of yours, we could fight you at any time, all we are doing for now u returning the favor of you helping us back out there,” Saul said.
“What does he mean by that?” Kyle looks angrily again at Saul.
