I Don't Need Friends!

Hermoine's POV I had been training ever since I got back from seeing that annoying general. I wanted to be on top of my game before going to camp. It's meant to be a six-month to one-year training programme and I was going to prove to that old man that I am really the s**t. I'm currently taking my fourth lap around the pack. I've been up since six am and it's not past nine in the morning. I'm trying to build my endurance, as most military exercises deal mostly with endurance. "Almost done," I say once I notice I'm becoming tired and breathless. After a few minutes, I come to a stop just in front of one of the pack houses. I hunch over and give myself a few minutes to catch my breath. I stand straight again and contemplate going inside. I knew I wasn't liked and people just tolerated me, but I really needed a bottle of water. "Oh well," I say before I push open the huge doors and head for the kitchen. At least, the kitchen wasn't so far from the entrance. I walk into the kitchen and it's empty. I head straight to the fridge and take out a bottle of cold water before walking out and heading toward the doors. "There the royal highness is. The one too high up her f*****g horse," someone says from behind me just as I open the door. I turn around and stare at the short plum brunette that had the audacity to call me out. "And you are?" I ask, one eyebrow c****d. "Just a curious person," she says as she tries to stare me down. I chuckle a bit. "In your case, it'll be curiosity killed the pup," I say and she glares at me. "Watch your mouth, I'm no more of a pup than you are," she says and I smile. "If you believe that, okay then. People don't dare talk to me the way you do, but I don't have time to deal with this. I have more important things to attend to. See you around pup," I say before I walk away. "I'm sure you're friendless. No one would want to be around you with this shitty attitude," she says and I laugh. I turn around to have the last word. "I don't need friends," I say with a smirk before I walk out of the pack house. That was kind of fun, but I don't need anyone asides my mother, calling me out. "Oh goddess!" I exclaim as I drop onto the living room couch. My body feels heavy. I just had a long morning. I was sticky but I was too lazy to get up. "I'll just lay here a while," I say and in a few seconds, I'm out like a light. Third Person POV Jada and Heith were in the office working on some files. They were getting ready to send Hermoine off for training, but Jada was still skeptical of allowing Hermoine to go. She stops and looks up from the file in her front. "Do you think it's okay to let her go? I mean, it's a camp filled mostly with men and I think Hermoine is too brass enough as it is," she says and Heith sighs. "I feel the same but I can't stop her. You and I know that once Hermoine's made up her mind, she's sticking to it," Heith responds. "I just don't want my baby to get hurt," Jada says with a small smile. "But I'm proud of her, and I hope she does well in that camp. My only prayer is her cocky attitude," she continues and Heith chuckles. "True. She has always been one cocky little girl," he says and Jada sighs. "I keep wondering how her mate is going to keep up with her when they finally meet. She has never been one to back down from something challenging," he continues. "Well, she's one tough nut. Anyways, has Alpha Jameson gotten back to you?" Jada asks, changing the subject of the topic. Five-star general Kain is seated in his office. He was still in the city by Alpha Heith's pack, the Bloodstone pack. The city was more or less owned by Heith, but it was a neutral ground all the same. Kain was waiting for the last of the signees before leaving for his camp deep in the woods and far from any form of civilization. He was looking forward to coaching and training Hermoine. She had a fire spirit and it was rare that someone stood up to him. Alphas, Betas, and Gammas usually sent their to-be heirs here when they sensed that they were not ready to take on their role. Heith and Jada's problem with their daughter was that they feared she was too brash and she doesn't know how to work with others. An Alpha needs to know how to work with others because running a pack is teamwork. Kain wasn't sure how he was going to help Hermoine be soft, but he sure as hell was going to teach her the importance of teamwork and why an Alpha needs to show strength, compassion and love to his/her pack members. He flips through her file that he's been reading for the past few minutes and nods his head slowly as he takes in more information about Hermoine. She's the only child and that made her attitude make more sense to Kain. Most stuck-up people were usually the only kids. He smiles when he sees that she has no friends and it makes him laugh a bit. "That seems about right," he says as he chuckles. After a few minutes of reading, he closes her file. "This young lady should be fun to work with," he says once he's done going through her file.
