Chapter 5: After Hours (2) *** After closing down the store Kisa headed up to the third floor to his own room. It was a bit smaller compared to his uncle's but it came with it's perks as well... Kisa changed out of his dirty clothes and went to take a shower. Afterwards leaving the bathroom with nothing but a towel wrapped around his wast. He was never someone that liked working out too much but since working for his Uncle was a strenuous job, he was rather well fit. Besides carrying around heavy boxes of junk and sorting through them each day wasn't that easy of a task. Kisa had a well developed body which made it a bit easier for him to manifest, or so he assumed. There was an old saying that went: "A strong mind only lives within a strong body..." Meaning that if you're body is unhealthy, likely your mind will be troubled as well... Kisa never took things like that too seriously but he did accept the fact that he had to be strong both physically and mentally to be able to overpower an Alpha... Laying down on his bed he picked up his phone, he hadn't had the time to check it all day, not that there was too much there in the first place. Even though he was 21 years old, he wasn't studying anything, he didn't particularly like school to begin with, so he began working full time for his Uncle right after graduating. Kisa felt indebted to his uncle for helping him go though school, and even though there were many places he could go and work for more money, he wanted to stay close with his Uncle for his sake if nothing else... Besides his uncle was already in his forties, it wasn't like he could work as efficiently in the store as he could before. So Kisa's presence there was more than reassuring for him... Scrolling down his messages, Kisa saw an old friend of his had texted him. She wanted to meet with him but he had missed all her calls that night. He gave her a quick text back and then deleted the rest of his junk texts. It was a long exhausting day at the store... and overusing his pheromones was never a good thing... In this world, Pheromones might as well be the life force that moves the species. It comes in no matter what you do and the lack of pheromones could cause you to lose your grip... imagine the lack of pheromones like the lack of nutrition, like the lack of food... If your pheromones are too low you'll begin to experience dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, vomiting and in worse cases you might be on the brink of death. There were many studies conducted on just what those pheromones were but none had any conclusive evidence or comprehension on the subject. Dr. Lawrence, who was a human Doctor whom took great interest in the species of half human half wolf like beings, was the main researcher on all related studies... Unfortunatelly after his retirement most of his findings got lost with him, as if he'd vanished in thin air... If you're wondering, in this worlds there are still humans, in fact the species we call Alphas, Omegas and Betas, aren't that different from humans... They do have a lot in common... But they had just as much if not more differences... On the outside they may look like humans, but their instincts, their need for pheromones, their need for a mate, their uncommon characteristics like advanced strength, agility and the ability to summon manifestations made them separate from humans... Yet they co-existed together, having not much of a choice in the matter... Cities where mainly their species lived were soon build and that's whey they live at the moment... Their city is called "OBA" silly as it sounds, it's a simply acronym for the species "Omega, Beta and Alpha" A city made specifically where their kind could live and not worry about humans whom didn't understand them... "Ugh... my head hurts... I guess I used too much pheromones back there..." Kisa muttured to himself under his breath, he looked around in his dimly lit room and slowly stood up from his bed. He headed to the kitchen space where he picked up a few ingredients from the refrigerator and quickly put together a sandwich which then he put in one of those fancy toster's that grill the sandwich from both sides. While Kisa's headache wasn't letting up, he felt like he would have a hard time falling asleep as well. "...fuck... it was worth it though, just to see that nasty Alpha's weak expression..." He muttured to himself once more while grinning from ear to ear. But then another Alpha's face flashed though his head. That man he'd met a while ago, 'Griffith Varon...' Kisa thought to himself, remembering the man's name. The person that technically... 'saved' him from being hit by another Alpha. It was difficult to say what Kisa felt towards the man but something in him didn't quite allow him to hate the other person. "I guess... there are some Alphas that aren't complete pieces of shit..." Kisa muttured while opening up the toaster and taking out his sandwich from it. "Now that I think back on it... It's not like that Griffith guy mocked me or anything... maybe I was a bit harsh..." He spoke out loud to himself like this often. Kisa always thought best when speaking out loud and even on the best of days, it took him a while to make out a situation for what it really was. And right now, as if intrusive thoughts began filling his head, he clearly recalled the conversation he had with Griffith... the more he remembered the more he realized that the man wasn't as condescending as most Alphas and he hadn't tried to touch or use his pheromones on him either. "Maybe... I was a bit too rude back there..." Kisa began thinking to himself. After all he was always so used to being angry at Alphas that at some point he forgot to think of them as people just like him... "No..." Kisa shoot his head violently from side to side. "As if I'm trying to sympathise with an Alpha! Haha! That's ridiculous! No way... hah..." He said as he headed back to his bedside and sat down. He turned on the TV which didn't have anything interesting to watch. He wasn't really aiming to play anything specific, he just wanted some background noise and images to occupy his mind while eating, instead of being left alone in silence with his own thoughts... Kisa ate while mindlessly watching what seemed to be an outdated cartoon being cancelled. It made headlines for some reason but he didn't care for it, he'd never liked watching things in general, movies, cartoons and the like never appealed to him. Though he was an avid reader, be it books on gadgets and Sci-Fiction, he was the first to grab it. Thus he had a large bookshelf right on the side of the TV. As well as a smaller book shelf right underneath the TV... He also mainly read E-books instead of hard cover ones, since he found them cheaper to buy and the less space needed to keep them, the better. Though on the other hand he did like buying rare books that he couldn't find online, and also buying books from small time Authors that he wanted to support. Kisa mainly enjoyed books created by Omegas, he had a lot of books focused on the struggles Omegas face and he related to them heavily. After finishing his food, he carelessly placed the plate on the floor near his bed and laid down again. The TV show still running on the background, Kisa closed his eyes to try and fall asleep...
