Chapter 4: After Hours (1) *** The OPO are an organization created specifically to protect Omegas from dangerous Alphas, such as traf*icking, being held against one's will, being used for s****l favours to third parties... There were many cases of Omega's lives being endangered in such a manner, thus this organization was made to help aid them in situations such as this one... It wasn't full proof, there were some instances where even the OPO would be unable to do anything even if an Omega is to be tortured in their sight. It just went to show just how much power some Alphas held in this world... "Thank you, for everything..." Nicolas said as he lowered his head in front of Kisa. This usually wouldn't be a weird thing but to Kisa it felt very out of place. "You don't need to bow to me..." Kisa said as he put his hand on the boy's shoulder. "Just go... make sure to live a good life away from Alphas..." "I will!" Nicolas said as he nodded his head, the OPO workers took him away with their official vehicle which had the indications of it being a safe car for Omegas. After being alone, Kisa's uncle tapped his foot on the ground and crossed his arms while patiently waiting for his favorite (and only) nephew to turn around and look at him... "I know what you're thinking so don't even bother..." Kisa remarked in a careless manner as he went back behind the counter and put away poxes of excess parts. "Listen Kisa... I know it's a noble thing you're doing by helping that boy but don't you think it causes the store to be more dangerous in turn?" The uncle asked while sighing a bit too loudly. It wasn't that he was disappointed in his nephew, on the contrary, he was very proud of him for his brave yet reckless actions. What he truly was worried about though was the store becoming a 'safe' spot for Omegas. "Not at all, and if it ever came down to it I'll protect the place, Uncle..." Kisa said as he glanced over his shoulder, he noticed the man's displeased look on his face. "I just want to help any Omega I can... because I know what it's like to be one... Constantly having Alpha's eyes on you as if you were pray... constantly having to hide and fend for yourself because you know no one will help you..." "Kisa..." His Uncle sighed knowing that nothing he'd say would make his nephew change his mind. He went to his next to the man at the counter. "You're brave and protective... but don't you think it's time for you to go out there and find an Alpha who's going to be able to protect you as well?" He spoke with a low and gentle voice but the other didn't seem to appreciate it too much. "What? Me? Find and Alpha... As if! I'd rather eat this box of SD cards instead." Kisa said while putting down a box the size of a shoe box filled to the brim with aforementioned SD cards used for phones. "Kisaa!" Uncle became more annoyed with him as he clicked his tongue. "Tsk... if only you could realize that you can't go through life all on your own! You need someone to help aid you through difficult times." "No, I don't... And what you're telling me isn't 'go get married' cause you've found someone you love. Instead you're telling me to go be some 'strong' Alpha's plaything so that I can have some form of 'protection', Isn't that right?" Kisa asked, holding himself back from raising his voice at a family member. "I'm saying it's better to have someone to rely on!" Uncle tried to retort but was quickly shut down by his nephew's next words. "Oh, right... Because 'having someone to rely on' worked out really well with mom." Kisa's brass and careless words made it difficult for his Uncle to say anything in return. A short lived silence befell them before the other managed to speak again. "I'm not saying it's 100% sure that nothing will ever happen to you... but at the very least it's comforting to have someone you know has your back... is all I wanted to say..." The look in his Uncle's eyes became a bit dimmer than before. As if he realized himself just what kind of difficult to navigate world they all lived in. Yet he was of course powerless to do anything about it. "I'm a Beta... so I don't really know what it's like to be in your shoes and I won't pretend to know... but I just wish you would listen to me from time to time..." Uncle said while turning his back to his nephew and heading upstairs to his room. Kisa was left there stunned for a little bit. But he quickly recovered, it was one of his best qualitues, there were little to no things that could make him stop in his tracks. 'Geez... sometimes he's so serious it kind of weirds me out...' Kisa thought to himself as he was about to lock the store but then approached a familiar face... "We're closed." Kisa said as he looked up at the man who'd put his leg between the half open door, not allowing him to close it. "I know but I wanted to come and see you Kisa!" A rather high pitched voice came from the man who smiled at the other. He was tall and obviously well groomed, there were some rather expensive looking jewellery on him, such as a bracelet on his left hand, a ring on the pinky finger of his right hand and what seemed to be a diamond earing on his left ear. The man's overall appearance seemed young but the wrinkles on his face would tell you he was maybe in his mid fothies in age. "Don't lie Lori... I know you're here to see uncle and not me..." Kisa remarked as he took a step back and allowed the man to walk inside the store. "Ehh.... am I that easy to figure out?" Lori asked as he tilted his head to the side as if acting oblivious to the other's words. "......I don't even want to comment on this... Uncle's upstairs if you want to see him that badly." Kisa said in a dismissive voice as he glanced over his shoulder at the other man. Lori was a long time 'friend' of his Uncle. Friend really meaning one with benefits as the two often slept together. Lori was an Alpha, not a very strong one, but an Alpha none the less. Kisa wasn't particularly fond of him, he always found Lori to be a little too pushy and annoying for his tastes but he didn't object to the man being there either as each time he'd see his Uncle just a bit happier after having spoken to a familiar face. "Good, good then I'll go but first... Tell me what's gotten you in such a bad mood?" Lori asked with an interested look at he put his hand on top of Kisa's head as if reminding him of their height difference. "Nothing... we fought a bit with Uncle." Kisa admitted to the man. He pushed his hand away quickly and fixed his hair afterwards. "That's no good boy! Fighting will make you two grow apart and that's bad... I mean you are still living in his house rent free." Lori said as he crossed his arms, he had a bit of a smug look on his face mixed in with a little bit of 'worry' as if added in there last minute. "I also work in the store more than he does, so I think we're even... All he does is go out on walks with Lucy anyways..." Kisa muttured in an annoyed voice while looking away from the man again, he liked to avoid eye contact with him as much as possible. "That's also important so don't be like that! And that old thing doesn't even listen to anyone else besides him so it's no wonder he's the only one dealing with it..." Lori remarked as he shrugged his shoulders. "Yeah, yeah..." Kisa carelessly remarked as he turned the sign on the door to 'CLOSED' and locked the front door so that no other clients could come by. "I'll go and talk with him, so I want you two to get along afterwards, alright? You're family... and there's nothing more important that that..." Lori said in a deeper voice than the one he used usually. It wasn't as annoying and whenever you hear it, you could be certain the man was not joking around anymore. "Fine... I'll apologize to him..." Kisa said as he turned to look at Lori, finally making eye contact with him but just for a split second. "You both will apologize to each other... That's what being an adult is all about." Lori said as he smiled at the boy and headed upstairs with a cheerful step. Kisa didn't like him much but he tolerated him for various reasons... and compared to most of the Alphas he's encountered in his life, Lori was the least annoying of them all...
