Dinner

Annesha's POV

I've been distracted all day. Alpha Zion had completely taken over my thoughts. He didn't join us for lunch because he finally fell asleep according to his pack members. So the meal was completely uneventful for me.

Seven tried to apologize for his behavior but, I was completely over it by tge time he did so. I was starting to think Abby was right about his intentions with me. Too bad I'd never see him as a mate. His scent wasn't inviting to me.

The rest of the afternoon consisted of the Alphas from several other packs arriving and tge entire house was busting out the seems with wolves. I just wanted the day to be complete and was so happy when dinner time rolled around.

I had been hiding from my mother in the libary when I overheard my Alpha on the phone.

"I'm sure that the Sugarcreek pack was only sending twenty members are you sure they have twenty-one?" He asked whoever was on the line.

He was silent for a brief moment before he responded, "I don't know what is going on Obsidian had an agreement. So it's either he doesn't know or some bullshit brewing. Keep them in the dorms tonight. not one of those wolves are invited to the main dinner. We will figure that odd number out in the morning." He said before ending the call.

I thought that was odd too. Why did Alpha Zion have so many more members in attendance than everyone else. I heard my Luna saying only ten from every pack but if that was so why did they have twenty expected? I could hear my father walk away and down the hall before I moved from my spot in the library. I knew it was time to host tge evening festivities and I only had a short amount of time to change.

Rushing up to my room I ran into the poor Abby that had been looking for me. "It's time to get dressed Annesha and our Luna is asking for you." she said in a huff.

I felt bad for her because I knew she'd never be able to keep tabs on me properly.

"I know Abby let's go and get this evening over with." I said flatly.

What I didn't know was my mother was serious about me looking the part and had a glam squad waiting for me. I wanted to scream by the time I had completed the look they were going for. Hair and makeup was more than I bargained for and I completely refused to apply the red lipstick and opted for clear gloss. I slide my wide hips into the form fitting Maxie dress and accepted the fact I really needed to wear heels with it. The snow white material looked perfect against my chestnut skin matched with rhinestone gladiator heeled sandals made the look complete. I made it to my post with minutes to spear.

Luna looked me up and down approvingly even though she was annoyed by my dissapeance. We stood at the head of the hall as the Alpha’s entered.

They were announced by my Father's Beta as they entered.

"Alpha Sparrow of Ravens run and his sister Sofie"

In walked in a pasty looking man that wore flash clothes that didn't quit match his body type. He walked up to greet us and reeked of a foul scent. I felt my mother nudge me as I scrunched my nose. Sofie need my mothers touch but she was pretty.

"Alpha Ulysses of Flat Rock with his Luna Ryan.

In walked another odd looking man about twenty years old with a very pregnant woman. You could tell the Moon Goddess had to make them a pair as they both had eyes to far from their noses.

"Alpha Tate from Bottom's Creek and his sister Alexandra"

In walked a rather handsome young man dressed perfectly. Yet his scent reminded me of the gutters I once fell into while playing with my brother when we were children. Alexandra was drop dead gorgeous in the face but had zero curves.

I felt another nudge.

"Alpha Cristoph of Plateau Chase and his sisters Kristen and Katlyn."

In walked in a young man that didn't look like he reached puberty fully with his older twin sisters. I knew tge girls from a camp I was forced to go to and they were what the humans call party girls. Lots of fun but both easily manipulated.

I hugged the girls during the greeting.

My pulse began to race as the next announcement was to be made. I felt butterflies building up in my belly and my wolf started to get excited with the anticipation.

"Our final guess for tonight. Alpha Zion of Sugarcreek."

Zion stepped into the room and suddenly I could no longer breath. His onxy skin glistened in the lighting and he was dressed in all black. As he approached he kept me in his sights causing me to squirm just a little but I was mesmerized by him. His cent was fresh like Cedar and Sandalwood. It was the first time I smiled during the ceremony.

He took his place at the table and I noticed that it was next to me. I looked at my Luna shocked and I caught a glimpse of her grin.

My father the Alpha Rouse made a speech that I didn't really hear because my wolf was talking at the same time.

"Him is our mate!" she said it softly at first.

I was dumbfounded.

"Him mate you smell him? "

I took a deep cleansing breath and tried to focus. But my thoughts jept racing. I couldn't focus on one thing to save my life. I placed my hands in my lap and fiddled my fingers trying to concentrate on the speech. It was at moment I tuned in to my father saying something about him hoping his son found his Luna and that I took would find a mate.

I looked up completely embarrassed.

Zion leaned closer to me and said, "Your too good for any of them don't worry." Then he grabbed my hand sending a thousand tingles threw my body that oddly calmed me down.

He let go of my hand as quickly as he took it.

I was at a lost for words as my panties seemed to be soaking wet at the same time. I squirmed again not knowing what to do. I suddenly wanted to crawl in his lap and lick him.

I didn't know what had gotten into me. I never had thoughts like this for anyone before. I was confused by all of these emotions. I never really thought about being anyone's mate before this moment.

My mother leaned closer to me and whispered in my ear. "Relax we will speak later."

I took another deep cleansing breath and sat up straight as the food arrived.

All of the Alphas were having conversations after the meal as we retired into the lounge. their Beta's stayed close but I noticed that Zion's Beta was always near me.

I appreciated his presence when Alpha Sparrow approached me.

"The beautiful Annneesha." He instantly annoyed me by the way he said my name. "I've heard plenty of the chestnut doll. Yet none of what I heard comes close to the real thing."

I just stared at him.

"My wolf would love to dance with yours." he said flashing me a hitius smile.

The crass comment seemed more like an insult to my wolf. I looked him up and down with discuss when Beta Hassan interrupted us.

"Oh Alpha I haven't seen you in a while. How is your little ailment doing?" He asked and now I was interested.

I waited for his response intently.

"Beta Hass how are you? I see your Alpha allowed to some fresh air away from his balls."

I watched as the Beta laughed as though his joke was really funny. "Interestingly he would prefer your head sniffing his balls so you'd know the scent of an Alpha."

The response even made me smile.

"I apologize Ms. Anneesha for such crude talk in your presence would you like to join my Alpha and I for a drink to cleanse your nostrils from the pungent odor in the room." He said taking another shot at the Alpha.

I never seen a Beta behave this way before at least not for someone that wasn't his Luna. Before I could answer him Beta Seven approached and interrupted with a growl.

"Annesha, are you okay?"

"Yes, Seven I am thank you. I was just going to sit with Alpha Zion for a moment." I responded curtly.

I allowed Beta Hassan to escort me across the room to his Alpha that was trying his best to be polite to the twins. They happened to see me first and screamed in unison.

"Annesha, we forgot you were an honoray daughter of the Region." they gushed and hugged me again. "You have to show us tge grounds and we're the unmated wolves hang."

I smiled, and became uncomfortable by the look Alpha Zion gave me. it was like he dared me to agree with the outing.

"I'm sure you ladies can find more to do with your time" He spoke to all of us but I knew it was meant for me.

"Is that right Alpha?" I asked with a glint in my eye. "I am sure you would enjoy it being you haven't been marked yet." I said with a smirk.

He blessed me with a smirk and challenge accepted. The girls squealed in delight aa we were about to have a good time tonight. My brother approached and was quickly filled in on our plans and offered to set up our location for a good time.

I rushed to my room to change into something else because I'd never go around anyone dressed like royalty.
