Arrival

Zion We drove for what felt like ever to reach the Star Creek wolf pack grounds. They owned so much land it was still another two hours to the Pack house. I was now driving as my beta was snoring scaring every creature for miles with his awful noise. I was used to it and if I wasn’t trying to sleep too it didn’t bother me. Not one bit. My mind kept wondering back to Regina. I didn’t even have but three minutes to say goodbye to her before my father the Alpha linked me and told me to get on the damn road. She didn’t seem so concerned as I was. She was okay with me going and the more that I think about it she didn’t even have an ounce of sadness in her eyes. She looked relieved that her fate wouldn’t be sealed until I returned. Which made me question everything. Was I forcing this to be something it wasn’t she really supposed to be my mate? I tried calling Regina one more time before after we crossed the boarder of the Regions territory. My thought was running wilder by the minute when she did not answer. “She never sends me to voice mail. My parents must have gotten to her.” I said out loud. Assuming the worse I tired to shake those thoughts out of my mind when I arrived at the gates. Pulling up I saw a few warriors standing guard like they could really stop me if I wanted to pass without permission. I had to shake the thought because it wasn’t going to change my situation for the good at this point. “Zion of Sugarcreek” I said to the burly warrior. I watched as he waved his hand at someone remote, and the gate opened. Pulling on to the estate I wondered how much these people are really getting in tribute for them to live like this. I mean our pack house was huge more like a lodge, but this resembled a palace. I saw people working around the grounds and what looked like a training pit area. I grumbled low waking my Beta immediately. “Where the hell are we?” He asked rubbing his eyes. “Star Creek packhouse.” I replied still irritated by the grand splendor of the grounds. “It will be an interesting week I can feel it already.” He huffed. “What’s wrong with you?” He asked alarmed by my growl. “Regina sent me to voice mail.” I spat. “Zion, you need to focus we have a lot to do here this week don’t lose your s**t man.” I didn’t reply I knew I had to be the Black wolf and represent for my pack. We pulled up and were greeted by more warriors that escorted us into the greeting room. Lined up the advisors and family awaited our presence. But a scent that was so alluring caught my attention. I eyed the line up trying to see where it came from. The alpha region spoke first. “Welcome, Zion! We are so glad you were able to grace us with your presence.” He spoke. As our custom my beta kneeled, and I nodded my head. “Thank you for having us.” I replied. “My father wanted me to send you his regards and my Luna wanted me to offer this gift to the Region Luna.” I said as Hass rose from his position to offer the gift my mother had sent. “Oh, your Luna is too kind, allow me to introduce you to my family.” The alpha said kindly. “This is my Luna Contessa, your next region alpha and my son Kylar and our daughter Anneesha.” Her head was held low prior to his introduction, and I was surprised to see the brown beauty he claimed as his daughter. She was beautiful with her fire red hair and golden-brown eyes. She moved to the right slightly as she exhaled a deep breath, and I got another whiff of her scent. Divine. My wolf was interested in who she was and started to struggle to take control. I had to speak to him while I held my composure. “Kameron, chill out!” I linked. “Her, her!” he panted urging me to get close to her. “Kameron, we have Regina now chill.” I spoke. “No Regina, her!” I was fighting hard to look normal until my beta cleared his throat, I hadn’t realized I was staring at the poor girl. Realizing my mistake I said, “Please excuse me I didn’t expect your daughter to be so so…” “Well groomed.” The young alpha said. “Please forgive my son he is ignorant and full of bad jokes” the Luna said. I stole another glance, and I could see she had been embarrassed. “I was trying to say breath taking.” I said before I knew it. Everyone smiled except for the Alpha’s daughter. She looked irritated but I didn't know if was me or her brother that had caused it. We all fell into an awkward silence as everyone attempted to move past my last comment. The Luna spoke up first. "Well Zion, I know you must be hungry and tired since you've traveled so far. Allow Anneesha to escort you to your quarters." Her smile seemed genuinely kind. Anneesha didn't look as excited about the task but seemed to stand up taller awaiting my response. Without realizing it I was staring again, this time Anneesha broke the silence. "Alpha Zion would you like to eat before you are shown to your quarters?" She asked. Her voice sounded like a sultry singers voice like it had a bite to it. I loved it. "I know I'd like to eat." Hass spoke first. "Sure!" I said hoping it was nonchalant. "Your going to love the spread." Kylar said, "I will join you as well so we can chat a little more being we have a lot in common from what I hear." I welcomed the distraction. "Enjoy your meals and get some rest I have some business to address." the Alpha Rouse said before we were escorted down a corridor leading to a dining room. Once we were seated I was surprised to see Anneesha join us in the meal. Her brother talked a mile a minute about a lot of different subjects and he was right we did have a lot in common. Too bad his sister dominated my thoughts.
