Arrival.....Annesha's point of view

1267 Words
When I heard the Blackwolf was coming I instantly pictured a tall alabaster mountain man with a rough exterior and jet black hair. You know like the ones in the romance books I like to read on rainy days. What I didn't expect was the onxy God that sauntered into the greeting room. His skin looked smooth and flawless and he wore a low cut. When he bowed his head greeting father I felt my belly swoon from the waves that perfectly circled his crown. He was tall and muscular actually he was the tallest man I've ever seen and he wasn't done growing. He was taller then my father too. He had a fresh scent like cedar and and something else. I had to fight myself to keep from staring at him. Then those introductions happen. My dumb ass brother always had to embarass me. But Zion still gave me the compliment and stunned the room. I was confused because I never had someone look at me the way he did. Even my wolf turned her attention to him. Isis usually only spoke when I needed to be alert but this time she spoke with interest. "I want to see his wolf form." "Isis please don't get your hopes up." I responded. "Him is familiar" She said. Right before my mother offered for me to be his Hostess for the day. I didn't know how to feel I was confused by the way he eyed me as well as embarrassed thanks to my brother. Mostly, I was confused by my wolf. I offered the meal because I just didn't want to be anywhere near his quarters with my wolf trying to take over my mouth. Once everyone was settled and enjoying their meal I took notice of his entourage. They were all shades of brown. It was a novelty for me really. I've seen others like me every once in a while but I never imagined a whole pack full of them. I listened quietly as my brother went on and on about everything from training to sports he enjoyed. Zion seemed polite and offered responses when appropriate but I could tell he was distracted. I no longer thought eating was a good idea but I promised to play nicely for the next week. So I couldn't sneak off to the library to read a good book and lose myself in the fantasy. "Sis!" I was pulled from my own thoughts by my brothers voice. When I looked up from my plate I noticed everyone staring at me. "I'm sorry I um" I studdered over my words not the least bit hiding my embarrassment. "Oh never mind I'll take the Alpha to his quarters." Kylar spoke before I realized what was happening. I stood to my feet and while I should have been relieved of the responsibility I wasn't. Of course I was nervous and intrigued by this Blackwolf but I also wanted to keep my word to my mother about being a good hostess. "No!" Was a little abrupt so I cleared my throat." That is okay Kylar, I'll take the Alpha and his warriors to their wing and show them to their quarters. Luna gave me strict instructions so I don't mind." My brother eyed me suspiciously, he knew for a fact that I hated strangers or showing anyone anything in this estate but before he could start in on Mr his Beta entered the room whispering something to him. "Well Alpha Zion, I guess your stuck with my sister. Do worry because she does bite." He laughed. " I'll catch you this evening." Alpha Zion smiled and gave a response I didn't hear because I was lost at how he licked his lips. I heard nothing. "The Alpha is tired Anneesha!" I heard as my brother exited the room. "Please forgive my brother he is always loud." I said to the Alpha. He smiled, my heart skipped but I kept my face neutral. "This way please Alpha" I said as Abby as appeared next to me. He eyed her but not as if he was interested but out of observation. I knew it was my brothers beta that sent her. Only he would be concerned about the attention of the young alpha being on me. I began to walk and as protocol Abby fell instep behind the Alpha and I. We walked in silence as we ascended the grand staircase. Stopping on the first landing I turned right and proceeded down the Alpha’s hall. I noticed him looking at the portraits along the corridor and while I was perfectly fine with pretending to not notice I decided to share some of the history. "These are portraits of every Alpha region that ever reigned." I said stopping at the one that meant the most to me." It was my father our current Alpha’s brother." "Interesting" He said as he looked from me to the painting. "And your mother?" She is on another hall where all the Luna's are." I said trying my best to maintain my professional image. I began walking again headed towards the West wing where all of the Alphas visiting had quarters prepared. His heights advantage didn’t give me much of a headstart but he was right beside me before I knew it. "Would you mind showing me around later?" He asked. "I'm sure you know all kinds of things about this place. That's if your not too busy." "You may be the one too busy Alpha." I said. "Please just call me Zion, my father is still my alpha." I stopped again this time after reaching his quarters. Abby opened the door as we entered him allowing me in first. It was set up like a luxury suite that slept eight people. Abby showed his entourage to the rooms and I pointed to the double doors opposite of the direction they went in. "That is your room Zion." I said. He gave me a look like he had been jolted then he smiled. "I like the way that sounded." The looked like he had moved into hunter mode. And I, I was his prey. Just then Abby returned clearing her throat and saving me from more then I could handle. "Well, I should be going you look like you need your rest." I said with an unintentional challenge in my voice. Turning to walk away I waved Abby over as we made our exit. He still had that look in his eye but he held his place. Once out of the room and halfway down the corridor I finally was able to breathe. "What was that?" Abby asked as she giggled. "I've never seen you respond to anyone like that." Stopping her by the arm I took a cleansing breathe again. "Like what Abby?" I asked. I saw her get uncomfortable as if she over stepped. I wanted to calm her so I gently squeezed her hand. "It is okay, you can speak freely." "I've never seen you act like you were willing to challenge anyone's advances." This caused me to laugh. "Abby, my dear sweet Abby no one has ever tried it with me before." "Are you sure? I mean" She paused. "Go on!" I encouraged. "I mean your brothers Beta is always trying to get your attention." "Seven?" I said with surprise. "He is supposed to be spoken for the last I heard." "No, he isn't." Was all Abby said before rushing away from me. I stood dumbfounded for several minutes before I went to find my mother.
