ELLA'S POV
“You're going to be our date to the annual school dance.” Christopher Larson's words echoed in my mind as I went through the rest of the period. A week later, the bullying from the other students went from one hundred to zero. Except for the side glances and the low growl that greeted me each time I passed Cathy, my life was slowly returning to normal.
Liya was looking forward to the annual dance which also fell on my eighteenth birthday. “Do you think this dress is nice?” She swayed a floral pink dress in front of the mirror. Rio had asked her to be his date.
“Yeah…” I answered, my tone casual.
Liya trudged over and sat on the edge of my bed. “Ella…”
I cut in before she even has the chance to speak. “Can’t you see they're up to something?” I sat up straighter on the bed. “They're about to f**k me up.”
She sighed. “I need you to calm down.”
I bit down on my lower lips. “That's the problem Liya, I can't.” I got out of the bed, pacing around the room. “I don't know what they have up their sleeves.” To think the dance fell on the same day as my eighteenth birthday was nerve-wracking.
“Maybe they have nothing. The Larson brothers never asked a girl out on a date—”
I stopped pacing and rested my hands against my hips. “Except of course it's—”
Goddess! What was that? The sound of cars honking made me swallow the rest of my words. It was too loud to ignore. I walked to the balcony to see three Lamborghinis lined up.
Shit!
Roman, Harper and Christopher were holding cardboards with the inscription— WILL YOU BE OUR DATE ELLA? Christopher was holding a Texas size bouquet of flowers, whilst Roman and Harper were holding shopping boxes. On a normal day, this would make any highschool she-wolf pass out, but it took more than showing off to get me.
“What's the problem Ella?” Liya walked up to me and a loud gasp escaped her lips. “No freaking way in hell!” She squeaked before she brought out her phone to record.
A buzz vibrated from my back pocket and I dug out my phone. My jaw hit the floor when I saw who the caller was. How did they even get my number to start with?
“Pick the call!” Liya asserted.
I narrowed my eyes and she raised one hand in surrender. “I swear I didn't give them your number. They're the Larsons, they have access to anything.”
I accepted the call and slowly brought it to my ears.
“Will you do us the honor please?” Christopher's smooth voice filled the caller's side.
The other she-wolves started to form clusters in each balcony. I had to get this over and done with. Cussing under my breath, I took the elevator and walked up to the three charming Prince's.
‘They're not charming!’ I reminded myself. Roman took the bouquet from Christopher and handed it to me. I crossed my hands over my chest.
I scoffed. “You can quit with the showoff!” Anger was slowly starting to build up inside of me. I made a mental note not to look at any of them straight in the eyes, they looked like they brought them out straight from the magazine and their eyes had a hypnotic allure to it.
“We came to officially ask you out.” Christopher gestured with his hands and two ladies took the boxes and went straight to the dorm. I can't with these three.
“It'll be our utmost pleasure to come pick you up on Saturday.” Roman flashed me a wink and all three of them got into their respective monster machines and drove off.
Saturday night…
“Happy birthday best friend!” Liya enveloped me in a tight hug, giggling. “Blow out your candles.” She held up the pink bento cake she'd ordered and made me wish before I blew out the cake.
Just then, her phone vibrated. “Gag me! I really need to go now, Rio is waiting.” She slipped into her shoes and came to a halt in front of the door like she remembered something. “Rio sends his love too. Ella, this is your moment. I want you to own it.” She blew kisses and walked out the room.
Rio and Liya were my best friends and it'll be so nice if the moon goddess fated them together. I looked down on my phone, waiting for my parents call or text or anything but all I got was nothing. Dad had started to ignore my birthday after I turned sixteen and didn't get my wolf but Mom didn't miss it.
“Please moon goddess, bless me with my wolf. Please.” I muttered a prayer. Almost immediately, I felt a soft tingling sensation coursing through my body, before it became too much. My entire body felt so heavy, it was like a ton of copper blades were shoved into my joints.
My vision went blurry and snapped back and became heightened. I felt weak, like my bones were made of jelly and then it was like I could lift an entire building with one finger.
I couldn't sit still as I rolled to the floor. I groaned and grinded my teeth but the pain just wouldn't stop. My breathing became hinged, as I begged the moon goddess to take the pain away. My head was so heavy like I was carrying the entire world on it. My throat felt parched, I wanted water…chilled water. My fangs sliced out and my bones began to crack, I couldn't think straight through the fog the changes in my body had created.
“Ellaaaa.” A slithering voice sounded. I looked straight into the mirror and saw the most beautiful pure white wolf staring at me. Even through the pain, I smiled because I knew who she was— my wolf.
“We're one Ella… I'm your new wolf.” she said and disappeared, just then, my bones cracked and my skin changed to fur, in no time I was in my wolf form. My room wasn't big enough for me to sprint and do things I wanted to do, so I just admired my new being through the reflection in the mirror. I had recoiled deep inside of her and couldn't do much. But I was in awe of her beauty, in awe of her majestique.
Slowly, I shifted back to my human form, sprawled against the floor, weak from my first shift. My heart fluttered with mixed feelings. I was happy I had my wolf and sad no one was there to hold my hands through the pains of my first shift. I remained there, until a strong musky coffee scent, one so strong and alluring wafted through my nose, it carried so much authority and Alpha vibes and, and it was close.
“Mates… our mates are here.”
Mates? The moon goddess had blessed me with more than one mate?
I struggled to my feet, grabbed my robe from the rack and wrapped it around me as I followed the scent to my balcony. No way!
Red, metallic gray and jet black Tesla's were lined up at the entrance of my dormitory and in front of them were the Lycan triplet heirs.
“Mates…” My wolf howled.
