“I need to make sure everything is okay with Liam.” Uncle Aiden held Liam’s hands and pulled him to get up on his feet. “We need to check Liam’s condition.”
Condition?
Liam isn’t sick. What are they talking about?
“Let’s go see the therapist.” My mother laughed as she followed behind uncle Aiden and Aunt Alice, who were both not happy with what was going on.
I shakily stood with my parents, holding my mom’s hands in fright, hoping they wouldn’t do anything to Liam and while my father, the Alpha King, just grunted in a bored manner.
“I’ve been silent for a while now and all of you are becoming a nuisance. What is the meaning of this? Can you get this over with? Why does he need a therapist? He is an Alpha and can do whatever he wants.” My father rudely questioned with smugness in his facial expression.
“Your majesty, we need to know what is going on?” Sebastian, my butler, explained to him. “With the rumors spreading across the clan, we need to know who is behind this.”
“Does it matter what he does? Instead of wasting his time by bringing in a therapist, why don’t you train him instead? This is a complete waste of time.” He roared and faced Alpha Aiden, my uncle, who was also standing beside us with my aunt. “Can’t you stop this madness? He is the moon, the ocean, and darkness. A powerful alpha. The blood of the royal family runs through his veins. What sort of nonsense is this? You just rescued him from the rogues who kidnapped this twerp. And you are punishing him by making him think he is crazy. He is your son and you are bringing in a therapist for him? Is he insane?!”
“Your majesty, I need to know what is going on. You’ve heard the rumors. I want nothing that will taint your reputation.”
“You seem to be the only insane one around here.” He muttered under his breath. “My reputation. My foot. Go ahead with it.” He ordered the therapist. “Let’s see if he is mentally unstable, like his father wants him to be,” He hissed and paced around in front of us, listening and watching what was about to transpire before our eyes.
I don’t know why they are doing this to Liam, when he is not insane and mentally unstable.
I want nothing to happen to him.
This doesn’t feel right.
I know Liam like the back of my hand.
He is not crazy, and a maniac like everyone is saying he is.
He defended me from those bullies out in the field and saved me a couple days ago.
He didn’t want them to hurt me.
Just because he acted a little different doesn’t mean he is a psychopath and mentally unstable.
He is still a kid like the rest of us. Those bullies started the fight.
They beat him up to a pulp and almost blew us all up.
Why does uncle think he is abnormal, instead of facing those bullies? They started it all and nearly killed him.
So, he was just supposed to sit back and watch them stab him?
I know he killed all of them. Yet, it was nothing but self-defense.
He is an alpha and doesn’t need this sort of interrogation from anyone.
They should all stop.
They should stop questioning him like he is a murderer.
He did nothing wrong with anyone.
I know my family doesn't like him. Why must they resort to doing this to him?
He just woke up after rescuing me from those rogues.
Fear overwhelmed me, bringing my eyes to the brink of tears.
I don’t know what they plan to do to him. But I was so petrified with anxiety, my heart almost came out of my chest.
I wouldn’t let anyone hurt him. I will fall down the staircase and faint if I have to.
After all, to them, I’m just a useless 14-year-old Omega, so they will take me seriously and not send him away from me to the boiling prison for wolves.
No one should hurt Liam.
Liam was sitting on a chair with his black hair tied up in a ponytail in the therapist’s office with us standing close to the door and listening in to what Liam had to say.
His hair straightened out into two strands on each side of his face, passing from his green eyes to his lips.
My parents and my uncle watched this therapist questioning Liam about himself in front of us.
Liam looked down at his hand and turned over to me with a little terror in those eyes.
He was worried about me instead of himself.
“Liam, stop. Please don’t look at your cousin and face me. We are all on good terms here, okay?”
Liam kept looking at me for what felt like 40 seconds before turning away from me.
“Prince Liam Grimjaw, please look at me.” The young blonde lady with black eyes politely instructed as she put on her transparent eyeglasses.
Liam faced the therapist with a blank look.
“Liam, why did you do it? Can you talk to me? I know you want us to be alone but…”
“Please, don’t let him hurt her.” He blurted out. “I wouldn’t forgive myself if anything should go wrong with my other half.”
“Your other half?”
“Yes, my other half. Aurora is my other half. She’s the only one I have.”
“Liam, why do you call Aurora your other half? Can you tell me what it means?”
“It’s just what it is. Why do I have to explain that?!”
“How old are you?”
“I’m 14 years old.”
“Liam…why…”
“Please, don’t let him get to her. Aurora doesn’t like her room to be dark. She likes her mangoes peeled before eating them and…”
“Prince Liam, calm down. Don’t be so tense. You are safe here. Calm down and explain everything you know to us. Tell us what the issue is. We can help you.”
“You think so?” His eyes sort of held a gleam of hope.
“Yes. You are an amazing alpha, Liam. Don’t let such a thing beat you to the ground. Whatever is worrying you, spit it out. A problem shared is an issue half solved.”
“Alright.” He nodded.
“So, tell me, Liam. Why did you kill those alphas when they tried to bully Aurora? According to what I heard, this is not the first time you’ve killed alphas. Your fellow genders. Werewolves’ like you. Your parents told me about how you killed the princess's bodyguard because he touched Aurora. Why did you do that?!”
“I…I.” He looked down at his feet as he leaned forward from his chair, staring at the floor.
