“I just wanted to save Aurora. He almost took advantage of her because she is an Omega. He said her scent moved him and couldn’t control himself. So, I helped him out.”
“By killing him?!”
“Yes.” Liam nodded and his eyes showed remorse in them.
Liam was on the brink of tears. He was trying so hard to hold them back. He never meant what he did.
He did it for my protection, and I believe him.
Other than that, who was he talking about? What was he talking about?
Save me from who?
“Then, when they apprehended you at the scene after you committed the murder using your werewolves’ powers, with the victim's blood splattered all over your body. You stood in front of his body with an expression of extreme shock. You were shaking and acting like nothing happened when you were questioned by your father when he came at the crime scene. Why did you say you weren’t the one who killed him? Why did you say it was him and not me?”
“That was the truth. I wasn’t the one who did it.”
She sighed and calmly questioned. “Then, who did it, Liam? You were the only one at the crime scene."
“It was him, not me.”
“Who is he?”
Liam sighed shakily and said. “I have this other side of me inside my body. He lives in me.”
“Inside you? He lives in you?!”
Liam nodded and looked at the therapist, confirming that “yes, he lives within me and I unknowingly created him at the time I turned 7.” I don’t know. I’m not sure. I think he has been there since I was born.”
“Okay.” She nodded. “Who is he then? Is he a friend of yours?!”
“Sort of.” He shrugged his shoulders.
“What is his name?!”
“His name is Luca. He saved me when Aurora and I almost died in the desert two years ago, before everyone found us. It was at that moment he developed and since then, I haven’t been able to stop him. Though, I remember a few things, memories and there, but usually I don’t. I call him my alter ego, too. The only one who cares about me and Aurora.”
“Were you in the desert before you were rescued?”
“Yes.” Liam nodded. “He wants to take over the werewolves’ world. He wants to be the last alpha standing.”
“Why is that?”
“He hates everyone, of course.”
“You said his name is Luca, right?!”
“Yes.” He responded.
“How did you know his name is Luca?”
“I didn’t know what to call him back then, so I gave him that name. Luca. My other side. When I started talking to him, he said he had no name. And all he just wanted was my body. He promised to always look out for me and Aurora if I give him what he wants.”
“What did he want?”
“Well…”
"You can tell me."
“I can’t exactly say.” He shook his head and looked over at me again. “He just wants everyone dead.” Liam whispered.
“You are me and I am you, Liam.”
Suddenly, I screamed at the terrifying image I saw in front of me after hearing that voice.
"AURORA!" My mother panicked.
I staggered, fell to the floor, and blacked out.
Those were the last words I heard inside my head before fading into darkness.
I don’t know what happened after that scene.
After I was treated by the doctors who told me to forget what I saw and just recognize it as a dream and a nightmare.
I was horrified.
It wasn’t a dream. I knew what I saw.
When I noticed how everyone was looking at me like I was insane because I kept repeating what I saw.
For the fear of the unknown, I accepted their words and sealed my lips.
Two months had gone by and the rumors about Liam being a monster faded like the breeze disappearing into the sky.
Everyone forgot about it and moved on with their lives.
My father mocked my uncle for acting like a lunatic by listening to my mom’s words and said nothing was wrong with Liam.
He said Liam was just going through a phrase, youthful exuberance and puberty.
Deep within me, I knew it wasn’t the case.
No one knew the unknown figure in the shadows was worse than darkness itself.
Why did Liam say those words to the therapist?
Did he make them up to make my parents and everyone else leave him?
What I saw when he looked at me terrified me.
I had to stay locked up in my room for days, pretending I was sick.
Nights after nights, I would have countless nightmares about him being devoured by darkness.
Those explanations, he told the therapist, where were they from?
Could it be he was lying just to gain sympathy?
He probably had done what he did because of my father.
To save himself.
Everyone knows the Alpha King, my father, hates Liam’s family.
Yet, he pretends to love them, but actions speak louder than words.
I need to see Liam and ask him a few questions about what he was talking about to the therapist.
Who was the other half or something?
I truly need to see him instead of locking up myself in here all day like a puppy waiting for the perfect day to come up.
~Liam’s Pov~
I sat down on the wooden chair with my legs crawled up to my chest with my long white nightgown still on me after my mom woke me and my brothers up.
It sounds pretty weird.
I wore a female nightgown as an alpha, instead of a male’s nightwear.
I enjoyed wearing a female nightgown because it relaxes me and makes me think of Aurora all the time.
If the clan were to find out, this is what I wear every night.
People would overwhelm me with questions and give me a puzzle look.
I yawned, wondering why my mother woke me up this early in the morning. It wasn’t even 6am, and we were this up.
What was so important for her to wake me and my brothers up at this time of the morning?
I felt a little sleepy and rested my head on my knees and wrapped my hands around my legs.
This feels relaxing.
I closed my eyes even though my mom ordered my two elder brothers to sit up properly.
“Mom. Why did you wake the three of us up by this time of the day? What’s going on?” Leo questioned with a long yawn.
Theo also yawned along with Leo. “Yeah! I’m pretty tired, mom. Can we talk about whatever it is you wanna talk about later? My head is pounding like crazy—”
