My legs were untied, and I moved in the direction of the voice leading us.
“Hey, stop there all of you." Someone commanded and I immediately came to a halt.
My mouth was already hurting me because of the size of the cloth used to gag my mouth. I slowly grew anxious. Not only was I blindfolded, but I couldn't tell what was happening.
All around me were commanding voices, so I guessed I was at a military camp.
After some minutes, a particular scent filled my nostrils. It wasn't food, but it had an effect on me. “Take off the bags and loosen them." I heard someone say.
I could hear the ladies before me either gasp or let out a muffled cry. Could this be some kind of ritual? Was it really terrifying? It felt like decades had passed before my face was relieved of the bag it had carried for hours.
My eyes roamed the place; it was more of a checking point at a military camp filled with wereguards minding their own business.
I noticed a flag with a wolf's eye in the middle. “This is druitguard.” I exclaimed in excitement, but immediately clasped my hands over my mouth and immediately displayed a calm demeanor.
" Did you say something, miss?" A hefty looking wereguard said, looking at me scrutinizing every part of my body as if he was trying to detect a fault in me.
I have heard rumors of this place being known as the most ruthless and fearsome place. Anyone who comes here is known as dead.
“Tell me your names." The wereguard, who seemed to be in charge of us, said authoritatively.
“Now move over there to be examined and do not try to run away.” He ordered, laying emphasis on the phrase “run away”.
We moved obediently to the next point, and I was extremely surprised to find a female wereguard. She checked us carefully, taking measurements of our heights, butt size and boob size.
My wolf was interested in a particular girl who seemed not willing or relatively scared of the place. She didn't look like she was royalty, so why would she not want to be the breeder for the king?
My nose caught that same scent again. Wondering what it was and where it came from, my eyes suddenly looked at the balcony of the storey building on my left. I could see a strong figure, but I couldn't tell who it was as the light from the sun limited my eyesight. I couldn't tell if he was actually looking down at us or not.
It was finally my turn to be checked. Taking one look at the guard, I understood his expression.
“ This one looks sick, take her away, the king won't be in need of this one” he said to his colleague. He looked at my face and I knew it was the scar. I lowered my head as I was led away by his comrade.
I was led to a room not far from where the other ladies were. I was a little glad as I could still see what was going on there through the c***k in the wall.
“ Wait here,” he said. I nodded, and he turned, closing the door behind me.
I couldn't let them return to me. The way I thought made me smile. Return me? I thought. Where would they return me to? I thought, then I snapped back to reality. I had to get married to whoever was the Alpha of this pack.
It seemed the girls were still there and no one was coming to deport me soon, so I decided to survey my new environment.
The structure of the room caught my attention. It was ordinary but had this hidden exotic charm that words couldn't describe. On one side of the room was a shelf filled with books that made me curious.
Since I was alone in the room, I decided that there was no harm in checking it out. I rummaged through the shelf and came across a book “Betrayal and The Quest for Power."
“Hmm, interesting." I exclaimed. I took one last peep outside and discovered that the girls were wearing masks and a particular girl-the same girl I couldn't take my eyes off.
“She wants to escape, help her escape and take her place." My wolf said.
“This place is dangerous. What if I get caught or killed or that lady gets killed?" I asked, scared of what might happen after.
"Nothing is going to happen, trust me.” My wolf said.
Sneakily and skillfully, I got close to the girls without any suspicion from the guards.
“Hey,, Hey" I whispered, and the girl turned to look for who was calling.
“I'm seeing you from the c***k on this wall. I know you don't want to be part of this, I could swap with you.” I said to the girl. I had to convince her somehow. She looked hesitant, then she leaned on the wall.
" How do you plan on accomplishing this? I mean it's highly insecure,” She asked nervously. She seemed young and naive.
" Once the guards are a little occupied, just open the door before this room and come in or you come in now." I said.
She nodded and came in. I got her mask from her. “Thank you very much." She said as her eyes glistened.
“But why would you want to marry that hideous werewolf?" She asked.
My mission wasn't for everyone, but I couldn't just be rude to her. “Darling, I'm not getting married,I just want to speak to the Alpha of Blackpin pack and this is the easiest way to get an appointment." I said, hoping she would buy my lie.
“Oh, you're really smart." She said.
“If anyone comes in here, use a book to cover your face and tell them you have a transmittable disease, with this you'll be sent off." I told her, placing my hand on her shoulder. She hugged me and I made my way to leave. I placed the book that caught my attention under the shelf. “I'll come back for you.” I mumbled and headed out to join the line.
“Why were you there?" A masculine voice said, causing me to stop in my tracks. Have I just been caught? Was this going to be my end?
