Jakob’s pov
Today is the day that I get the DNA test done. I have to go pick Kellan up in 30 minutes and I really don’t want to go by myself to get him. I asked Anna if she would come with me and she said yes. I sent a mind-link to Hardin and asked if he would come with me and Anna to get Kellan so there were no issues with Colette letting me get him while Anna was with me and he said he would meet us by the stairs. Once Anna and I were dressed and ready we headed to the stairs to meet Hardin. He came down not too long after Anna and I got there. The three of us headed to Colette’s room to get Kellan. Anna and Hardin stood off to the side of the door while I knocked and when she opened the door Hardin and Anna got to see firsthand how she opens the door when I come to get Kellan. She was standing there in a nighty and she was trying to be seductive. Hardin and Anna both stepped out from the side of the door and she looked like she had seen a ghost.
Hardin looked at her and said “What in the hell do you think you are doing Colette? This is not how you answer the door in my pack. You knew Jakob was coming to get Kellan this morning so why would you answer the door like that?” Colette said “I woke up when I heard the knocking Alpha Hardin. I didn’t intentionally wear this to open the door.” Hardin said “go put some clothes on and then give Kellan to Jakob.” she said “yes Alpha Hardin.”
Colette closed the door and I said see man this is what I put up with when I come to get Kellan. Just ask Alex he was here the first time she opened the door like that and he step in front of me and demanded she change and she show me respect. Hardin said “I see now Jak and I'm sorry. I am going to have Aspen draw up a new agreement for now until we go to that meeting and make it to where she has to meet you in the living room so there will be plenty of people around.”
Colette opened the door and handed Kellan to me with his diaper bag and cut her eyes at Anna, Hardin and I both saw her do Hardin growled and said “do you have a problem with my sister Ms. Elm?” Colette said, “no Alpha I don’t.” Hardin said “good then I suggest you keep the dirty looks to yourself before you end up on my shi* list which you are already on the edge of crossing by your behavior since arriving here. Keep the looks and comments to yourself and if I find out you are still answering the door like you did today trust me you won’t like the punishment for it and I am summoning you to come to my office tomorrow afternoon.” before she could say anything we walked off.
Hardin went back upstairs and Anna and I took Kellan to the pack hospital. When we got there I sent a mind-link to doctor Morris letting her know we were in her office and she said she would be in, in a few minutes. I saw 2 files sitting on her desk one had my name on it and the other had Kellan’s name when doctor Morris came in I asked her about the files and she said she pulled them just so she could get information on both of us if she needed it.
She opened my file and said, “ Beta it looks like you already signed off on a DNA sample for a test for Ms.Elm a week after she got here why are we doing another?” I looked at her and then at Anna and said I didn’t sign anything. Doctor Morris said “I have a paper here in your file for a DNA sample for a test for Kellan that is signed by you.” she handed me the file and I looked at the paper. Someone forged my signature. I asked who she got this paper from and she said a doctor from another pack sent it to her and because she had a signed paper she sent a sample of my DNA to them. I said I want this doctor tracked down and I want him or her brought in for questioning. I said I definitely want this test done now because I don’t know who did it and what if it was wrong? Doctor Morris said “I understand Beta and my apologies for not checking further into this paper. I should have come to you and asked if you signed it but everything going on here at the hospital lately I wasn’t thinking.” I said it is ok doctor Morris, I understand things have been crazy and I am not blaming you for any of this. Anna said, “when we leave here I will mind-link Aspen and Hardin and let them know we need to have a meeting asap.”
Doctor Morris went to get the test kit and when she came back she said “this is an oral swab test and it will take a few days for the results to come back.” I nodded and said that was fine. Once she swabbed Kellan and I, she placed the test in a bag and sent it to her lab. Anna and I thanked her and we left and headed up to Hardin’s office. The door was open but Hardin wasn’t in there. We went to the suite and knocked. Aspen opened the door and asked what was going on and if we had had the test done yet and I told her we just left doctor Morris’s office. She let us in and said Hardin was in the shower. We sat down and waited on him to get out and get dressed. Aspen and Anna went and got the triplets and brought them into the living room and put them on the playmat with Kellan. Silas refused to play with Kellan again and ended up in my lap. When Hardin got dressed and came into the living room he asked what was up.
I said well doctor Morris informed us that apparently, I signed a paper the week Colette got here to give a doctor from another pack a sample of my DNA. Hardin said, “that would be the results she gave you when she told you right?” I nodded. Aspen said, “Jakob I am confused why did you sign a consent form for a DNA sample without asking why it was being requested?” I turned to her and said that’s the thing, I didn’t sign any consent form. doctor Morris showed me the form and someone forged my signature. Aspen said, “who was the doctor that requested the DNA sample?” I said I didn’t know but I told doctor Morris to track down which pack they were from so they could be brought in for questioning.
Hardin said he was going to get a copy of the paper and have elder Todd look at it and see if he could find out what pack they were from so he could go personally and pick them up and bring them back for questioning.
