CH.27

Jakob's pov

I was looking out the window towards the trail when I saw Colette walking towards Walker who was on patrol. I tried to use my wolf hearing but they were too far. I stood there in my window watching to see what they were doing. It looked like they were just talking but I watched Colette slap Walker across the face and storm off. I sent Walker a mind-link asking what in the hell just happened and he started laughing and said “I'm all good Jakob.”

 I said why did she slap you, dude? He said, “because I told her all she was, was some chick I f*cked, and now that I know she was involved with you and has a kid I don’t want any part of that.”

 I asked what she had to say to that and he said: “She said I wouldn’t find another chick who compares to her in bed and I’m not going to lie, dude, I told her I had, had plenty and there was one who I wished was still here so I could have crawled in her bed after leaving Colette’s.”

 I said no you didn’t dude. He said “swear on the moon goddess I did. She has been calling me non-stop since I ran into you this morning and now is stalking me around the packhouse. I just want her to leave me alone so I said whatever I could to get her to go away, dude.” I said I understand man. 

Walker asked me about Kellan and I told him about the party and how I was wasted and Colette and I slept together. He told me he wouldn’t say anything and I told him thank you and we ended the Mind-link. Anna came into the room and asked what was wrong and I told her about what I saw. 

She laughed and said “well he probably deserved it. You know how Walker is with girls and he probably told her she was a wh*re or something.” 

I said he told her he didn’t want anything else to do with her after finding out we had a pup and she told him he would never find anyone as good as her in bed and he told her had had, had plenty, and even brought Daphanie up and said he could have used her after sleeping with Colette but it was too bad she was not here anymore. Anna gasped and shook her head. I looked at Anna and said let’s go out and do something fun. She said sounds like a good idea and he left the packlands. 

Annalynn’s pov

Jakob and I went bowling and then went to the skating rink. After we left the skating rink he took me to get a bite to eat and then we drove up to the spot Jakob took me on my 17th birthday. I asked if he had been up here since then and he said no. Jakob got out of the car and walked around to the front of the car and stood there. I got out and walked up next to him and asked what was wrong.

 He said, “nothing is wrong baby I just needed to breathe for a minute. With everything going on with Kellan and Colette I haven’t had time to breathe.”

I took his hand in mine and we stood there quietly just staring off at the city. Jakob pulled me close to him and kissed the top of my head and I stepped back and said get the blankets from the trunk, please. He looked at me and said ok. When he walked back around the car I took one of the blankets and laid it on the ground and sat the other on top of it. Jakob asked what I was doing and I said don’t ask questions babe and I pulled him to me and kissed him. I lifted his shirt and he pulled away and said “Anna.” I don’t what came over me but I pushed him on the blanket and said, quiet mate. He looked at me and went to say something but a growl came from my mouth and then I heard a female voice say “hello Annalynn.” I looked around and said who are you and where are you? The female voice said, “my name is Hailee and I am right here.” I looked around but didn’t see anyone. 

Jakob was staring at me and said “what is wrong Anna?” I said you didn’t hear that? He shook his head no.

I told him about the female voice I heard and he said “Anna, it has to be your wolf. No one else is here.” 

He told me to close my eyes and try to talk to her and I said I don’t want to look crazy talking to myself. He laughed and said, “you won’t.”

I closed my eyes and said Hello? I heard the voice say Hello Annalynn. I asked who she was and she said my name is Hailee and I am your wolf counterpart. I asked her why she was just now coming forward and she said: “I'm sorry I didn’t come forward when you turned 18 Annalynn but I did not feel like you were ready at the time.” I said so what makes me ready now? She said, “you have shown me that you are indeed mature by the way you have been handling things.” I asked her if I was supposed to shift now or if I needed to wait and she said it would be better to do it while on the packland. 

Jakob touched my arm and I opened my eyes. He said, “so I take it, that was your wolf?” I nodded and said her name is Hailee. He asked, “can I meet her?” I closed my eyes and she asked her. 

When I opened my eyes it wasn’t me who Jakob was talking to it was Hailee. She said Hello mate. He smiled and said Hello “Hailee, you have beautiful light blue eyes.” she said Thank you mate. Jakob closed his eyes and when he opened them I knew it wasn’t Jakob but Malachi had taken over. Hailee looked at Jakob and said you must be Malachi my mate's wolf? Malachi responded and said, “I am Malachi and you mate have beautiful eyes.” Jakob’s eyes closed and they were his normal color. I asked Hailee to please let me come forward and she did. 

When I opened my eyes Jakob said “Anna, Hailee has light blue eyes like the sky. I smiled and said maybe you could take a picture of them for me one day. He said, “I will baby.” 

Jakob asked what the blankets were for and I said I figured we could lay under the stars for a while and just enjoy the quiet maybe make out a little. He said “I love the way you think sweetheart.” we laid down on the blanket and just stared up and enjoyed the peace and quiet for a couple of hours then we went home.
