Jakob’s pov
I am with Hardin this morning at work he figured I could use a break from the packhouse so he had Thomas teach my class today. After we got to the job site, I started working and it took my mind off of what all has been going on. It felt good worrying about the project instead of everything else. We were 4 hours into working when Hardin got a call. I stopped what I was doing when I saw the look on his face. After he got off the phone I walked up to him and asked if everything was ok and he told me everything was fine. I said Bro come on I saw the look on your face what is wrong? He said it was nothing just Juniper pulled a glass off the coffee table and it shattered and she stepped on the glass. I asked if she was ok and Hardin said she was fine. We got back to work and the rest of the workday went by pretty fast. While on our way home Hardin asked when I had Kellan again and I told him I pick Kellan up again on Saturday. He asked if Anna and I would be up for taking all the pups out Saturday. I said I would talk to Anna when we got home and let him know. It took an hour to get home due to traffic. even just sitting in the car kept me from thinking about all the drama. When we got home Anna was in the living rea when we walked in and as soon as I saw her Malachi said,
"take our mate upstairs now." I asked why and he said, " don't ask do it now."
I walked up to Anna and said we need to go to our room now and she asked what was wrong. I said I don't know Anna, Malachi said I had to. As we were walking up the stairs she said,
"Jakob you don't think I'm in danger and that's why he told you to take me upstairs do you?" I said I don't think so Anna but just to be safe let's wait until Malachi says everything is ok.
When we got to our room Anna sat down on the loveseat and asked how my day was I told her it felt good to be out there helping on the project. I didn't get a reply and when I turned around Anna was leaning forward and looked like she was about to fall over. I walked over to her and asked if she was k and she said she felt weird. I asked if she had eaten anything and she said she didn't skip breakfast or lunch and even had a snack about 2 hours ago. I asked her what she was feeling and she said she was dizzy and like she is burning up. I said I was going to call doctor Morris and she said not to but to call Aspen instead. I raised my brow and said why not call doctor Morris? She said,
"Jakob just call Aspen please and ask her to come down here," I said ok and called Aspen.
A few minutes later Aspen was knocking at the door and when she came in she asked what was going on. I said Anna isn't feeling herself. Anna is saying she feels dizzy and feverish like she is burning up. Aspen looked at Anna and felt her head and said,
"Anna, I want to try something and see if it's what I'm thinking it is," Anna said, "that's why I asked Jakob to call you first."
Aspen told me to come stand in front of Anna and put my arms around her. After a minute of me standing there with my arms around her Aspen asked Anna how she felt. Anna said she felt cool and not like she was burning up. Aspen whispered in Anna's eye and then headed to the door. She turned and said she will be fine but I was going to need someone to cover training and my classes for about a week. I asked why and she laughed and walked out of the room. I looked at Anna and said what is going on? Why am I going to need a week off? Anna turned red and said,
"Jakob, we won't be leaving the room for a few days. I know why Malachi told you to bring me upstairs." I asked why and she said, "because it's happening." I was confused and asked what was happening.
Anna said, "Jakob by the time we are able to leave the room, we might be starting a family." I looked at her and then it hit me.
I said are you saying it's heat time? She nodded and said, "I'm sorry I know you were supposed to pick Kellan up on Saturday but you may have to get Hardin or Aspen to reschedule for you."
I said it's ok sweetheart. You can't control when it happens and Colette will be fine with Kellan this weekend. She doesn't need to know our business. I told Anna to go ahead and undress and head to the shower and I would be in there to help keep her cool as soon as I called and had the kitchen prepare us dinner and bring us drinks.
Aspen's pov
After I left Jakob's room I went to Hardin's office and told him he had to get someone to cover for Jakob during training and cover his classes for the next few days and he asked if Jakob was ok. I told him he was fine but he was going to be extremely exhausted for a few days and Hardin looked up at me and started laughing then said I traumatized him with mental images. I laughed and said I didn't make you picture anything you did that on your own. He called Thomas and Walker and got them to alternate days for training and classes. Once we got the pups we headed down to dinner.
Annalynn's pov
After Jakob and I got out of the shower he told me not to bother getting dressed since I was going to need skin-to-skin contact for the next few days. He told me to go lay down in the bed and he was going to let Ember in to bring us out dinner. After Ember left we sat there on the bed eating and Jakob asked if I was ok. I nodded because I had a mouth full of food and he said,
"so if we are blessed this week you are ok with that?" I swallowed my food and said Yes I am ok with that Jakob. I told you before I want to start a family with you and if the moon goddess thinks it's time for us then I am ready." I kissed her forehead and we finished our dinner.
We were laying there in bed talking and Anna said "before I forget Aspen talk talked to doctor Morris and she said the results should be back tomorrow or the next day." i sighed and said im nervous about the results.
Anna asked why I was nervous and I told her it still seems like a dream and I know I shouldn't be nervous because i've already seen the results once but this time it's me doing it and it's real. Anna kissed me and said "I love you Jakob Lee. i'm starting to get hot again babe i need you to cool me off." she didn't have to say it twice i rolled over on top of her and made love to my beautiful mate until she passed out from exhaustion.
