CH.26

Aspen’s pov

I called doctor Morris and asked if she had a few minutes to talk and she said she had a few minutes free right after lunch. I got dressed and got the pups ready for breakfast. After we ate the pups nannies helped take them back upstairs and I went to Hardin’s office to let him know I was going to talk to doctor Morris about getting Kellan and Jakob in for a DNA test so we could get started on the custody hearing. He said that sounded like a good plan to him. I left his office and headed down to the pack hospital. I sat and waited on doctor Morris to call me into her office. When she was ready for me I went in and she asked what was going on. I told her that I needed a DNA test done for a pack member and she looked at me funny. I said it’s not for the triplets because Hardin is their father and she laughed. I said this test is for the pup you saw not long ago that was teething.

She said, “oh you mean Kellan Elm.” I nodded she said ok and who am I going to be testing? I looked around the room not wanting to say Jakob’s name but she said “Luna I need to know who it is so I can get a sample to go off of.”

I sighed and said it’s Jakob doctor Morris. She gasped and said “Beta Jakob?” I nodded. She said “well I didn’t see that coming but no judgment here. Tell the Beta to set up an appointment with me and to bring Kellan with him. Also, let the Beta know It will take a few days to get the results back.”

I said well he has Kellan in 2 days can you fit them in then? Not everyone knows Jakob is his father and not many people know what is going on including his mother. This is being done for a custody hearing with the elders so Jakob can get him full-time and give him the proper care he needs.

Doctor Morris said “Of course Luna. I will call you and let you know what time I can fit them in and I won’t say a word to anyone.” I said thank you and left.

When I left the pack hospital I went to my office and mind-linked Jakob and Anna to come see me in my office. Jakob said he was finishing up his class and he would and Anna said she was on her way up. A few minutes later Anna opened the office door and came in.

she said, “what is going on sis?” I told her once Jakob got here we would talk. She said ok and then asked if we could talk some girl talk for a minute. I said of course we can. I asked her what was up and she said “how did you know you were going through your heat?” I said Anna do you feel funny?

She said, “no I just wanted to know what symptoms you get when you are going through it just so I get an idea of what to expect when I do.” I said well for me when it first hits I start feeling feverish and like I have a headache, then I start getting hot and the only way to cool myself down is for your brother to be touching me.

Anna said, “ew didn’t need to hear that.” I said well you asked so I'm telling you. She said, “I know that is usually when a she-wolf gets pregnant.” I said yes normally it is but there are times when a she-wolf can get pregnant outside of her heat. Kind of how Jakob ended up in this situation.

Anna nodded and said, “ok I get it.” I said one other thing is you will want Jakob every second you not are sleeping. Anna’s eyes got big and she said “so Jakob and I are going to be going at it non-stop?” I said pretty much and when it is over you aren’t going to want him near you.

She asked how long it last for me and I told her mine is usually around 4 days. About the time she opened her mouth to ask another question Jakob came in and she got quiet. He looked at both of us and said “am I interrupting something?” I laughed and said just girl talk.

He sat down next to Anna and I said ok so I went and spoke with doctor Morris this morning and she said she will let me know what time she can fit you in for a DNA test. I told Jakob I had it set up for your next visit with Kellan that way you don’t have to ask Colette to take him. Doctor Morris is aware that it is you that will be you coming in Jakob and has promised to keep this to herself. I said one other thing, the results will take a few days to come back. Jakob said, “thank you so much for helping me, Aspen. I am thankful to have an amazing sister-in-law and Luna like you.” I said you don’t need to thank me Jak we are family and I will do what I can to help. After they left my office I went back to the suite and got the pups laundry together and sent off to the laundry room then I sat down and started reading a book.

Colette’s pov

I’ve been trying to call Walker to apologize for how Jakob acted this morning but he isn’t answering my calls. I decided to go look for him. I walked around the packhouse with Kellan and he wasn’t anywhere I looked. I finally asked Illiana if she knew where I could find Walker and she said he is probably on pack patrol. She told me to go to the front gate and ask the gate guards if they know where he is. Kellan and I headed to the front gate, when I got there I asked if either one of them could tell me where to find Walker and one of the guards said “Walker is busy on patrol.” I said could you tell him Colette is looking for him? The guard nodded and went back into the gatehouse. On my back to the packhouse I saw Walker walking the woodline and I yelled for him. He turned and walked in the other direction. I followed the direction he was walking and he ended up behind the packhouse near a trail. He stopped and while he was looking around I ran up to him and said I called your name didn’t you hear me?

He turned and said, “I am working right now Colette, and can’t talk.” I said I'm sure you could spare a few minutes to explain why you are ignoring my calls.

He turned and said, “I am at work and don’t have time to sit on the phone with some chIck I f*cked a few times.” I scoffed and said so all I am is some chick you f*cked?

He said “yeah you are and it won’t be happening again. You have a kid with my Beta and friend. There is no way in hell I'm going to betray him like that.” I said you know what, that’s fine go find some other chick to f*ck but I promise you none of them can compare to how good I am in bed.

He laughed and said, “honestly Colette I’ve had way better too bad she is no longer with us I could have used her after leaving your room.” I slapped him across the face and headed back to the packhouse.
