CH.23

Hardin’s pov

We are almost finished with this project at work and it has been one of the most challenging designs and builds I’ve dealt with. I’ve been here for 5 hours now and I’m tired and ready to go take a shower and be with my pups and my beautiful wife. Once Thomas finished up what he was working on we headed home. When I got to our suite I opened the door and saw one of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen. Aspen was laying on the floor next to the pups and they were all asleep. I took out my phone and snap a picture. I closed the door and headed to the shower. When I got out and got dressed, Cassia was standing at the baby gate saying “dada” I picked her up and she attacked my cheek with her slobbery kisses and I laughed and said did you miss daddy princess Cass? She smiled at me and said “dada, mama ni ni” Each one of the pups has their own way of saying night night and it’s so cute. I kissed her cheek and said yeah mommy is ni ni but we need to wake mommy, sissy, and bubba so we can get ready to eat bite bites. I put her down and she crawled over to her mommy and climbed on her saying “mama bite bite” Aspen stirred and when she opened her eyes I said well hello sleeping beauty. Enjoy your nap with the pups? She looked up and said,

“we were playing and I guess I fell asleep and they did right after me.”

when she sat up I bent down and kissed her forehead and said well my love it’s time to get ready for dinner. I’ve already showered and I am free to help with the pups. I took Silas and Juniper while Aspen got Cassia changed and dressed, then Silas and then Juniper. I sat with the pups while Aspen went and got ready. While we were waiting on her to get dressed Juniper said “mama baby” I said you are mommy’s baby. She shook her head and said “no dada mama baby.” I laughed and said no daddy isn’t mommy’s baby. You, sissy, and bubba are mommy’s babies. Juniper grabbed my face and said “mama baby.” she is her mom made over. She has Aspen’s sassy attitude. When Aspen came out of the bedroom I said Juniper keeps saying, mama baby. Any idea why? I told her she was mommy’s baby and then she said no dada mama baby and I told her I wasn’t your baby that her, sissy, and bubba were and she got a sassy attitude and said, mama baby.

Aspen looked at me and said," I have no clue what is trying to say, babe."

We picked the pups up and headed down the stairs as we were hitting Jakob and Anna’s floor Silas yelled “ AK Ak” I said yes that is where Uncle Jak and Aunt Anna live.

Aspen stopped and said," I think I know what Juniper was trying to say. Aspen explained about Jakob saying something about us having another pup and she told him not any time soon.

I said maybe she was trying to ask if mommy was having another baby. Juniper said “mama baby.” Aspen laughed and said no sweet girl mommy isn’t having a baby. Juniper got mad and yelled “mama baby.” Aspen said we need to get her mind off of that so she doesn’t say it out loud and everyone thinks we are having another one. I pulled out my phone and put it on a learning show for babies and gave her my phone. It seemed to do the trick. Once we got the pups in their high chairs and we sat down the kitchen brought out the food and as soon as Aspen was about to give Juniper a bite of her mashed potatoes Juniper screamed “MAMA BABY.” everyone at the ranked table got quiet and Anna asked why she yelled Mama’s baby. We said we think she is trying to ask if Aspen is having a baby but we aren’t sure but we aren’t having another right now. Jakob looked around and then said,

“my bad I didn’t know me making that comment to Aspen would cause one of the pups to ask about another baby.” I laughed and said it’s fine Jak she doesn’t understand no big deal. After dinner,

I got a mind link from my mom telling me I needed to come see her. When I opened her door she said “you need to sit down son we need to talk.”

I asked what was going on and she said “I spoke with Anna and Aspen today and learned that my future son-in-law was just informed he has a pup.”

I nodded and she said, “well I contacted elder Todd and had him do a little digging on Colette and it seems that she and Kellan were banished from their pack because she was sleeping with the Alpha and the Luna caught them together.”

I raised my brow and she said “I just wanted to get some information about her since no one seems to know anything so that is why I went to the elders.” I said thank you for that mom because I wouldn’t have even thought about it because of the story she told us.

Mom said she was going to contact the Alpha of her old pack and see if he could give any more information on Colette and Kellan. I hugged her and said you are the best mom ever! She said “I know. Kiss my grandpups for me and bring them to me one night this week so you and Aspen can have some time together. I miss my babies.” I said I will and I left. I went back to the suite and told Aspen what mom found out.

Annalynn’s pov

I woke up at 7 and jumped in the shower. Jakob goes to pick Kellan up today for his visit and we are going to take him out shopping so we can get some more things for him. After my shower, I got dressed and woke Jakob up. When he got up he jumped in the shower and I got a mind-link from Hardin saying we needed to come to his office. Before I could even open the bathroom door Jakob yelled “Hardin needs to see us in his office.” I laughed and said I was literally about to open the door to tell you that. After he got out and got dressed we went upstairs to see what was going on. When we got to Hardin’s office Aspen was sitting next to Hardin at his desk. I looked at my brother and said what’s going on? Why did you need to see us?

He said “sit down we need to tell you and Jakob something.” in my head, I'm thinking oh my goddess they are having another pup but didn’t want everyone to know yet but then when I heard my brother say mom talked to elder Todd yesterday I knew it was about something else.

He said “mom asked me to come see her last night after dinner to let me know after she spoke with you and Aspen she contacted elder Todd and had him do some research on Colette.” I said ok what did he find out?

Hardin said “well from what elder Todd told mom he found out that Colette and Kellan were banished from their pack because Colette was caught by the Luna sleeping with the Alpha.” I said see I told you she was trash!

Hardin looked at me and said “mom told me she was going to contact the Alpha of Colette’s old pack to see if she could get any more information on her.” I said that would be awesome if he could tell mom more about her.

Hardin said “I just wanted to give you both the information I got and if I get any new information I will let you both know.”

when we left Hardin’s office and went back to Jakob’s room he was mad and I could tell. I asked what was going on in his head and he said “how could she do that to her Luna? It’s messed up.” I said I have said from the get-go she is trash and I didn’t feel a good vibe from her.

Jakob said, "I feel ashamed to even say we slept together because of what she did to her Luna. I wish I could take it back knowing that’s how she is but I can’t and I am disgusted with myself now,” I said Jakob stop. You were drunk and didn’t know anything about her. You didn’t even know her name.

He said “I know but knowing she slept with a mated man who happened to be her Alpha makes me sick.” I said look let’s stop talking about her. Go get Kellan and let’s take your son shopping and enjoy the day with him.

He left to go get Kellan and I got our diaper bag ready and borrowed Silas’s spare car seat from Hardin and put it in the SUV. when Jakob came down to put Kellan in the car he said “it took everything in me not to say anything to her about how disgusting what she did is.” I said I know but let’s not say anything until we get more information about her. I mean for all we know he could have made her do it because he wasn’t happy but I'm sure it was something she wanted. We got in the car and headed out for the day.
