Jakob’s pov
I rolled over and looked at the clock it was 10 till my alarm was supposed to go off. I got up and got dressed I sat down and sent a text to Anna that said ***good morning beautiful, I hope you have a good day today. I love you sweetheart!*** a few minutes later I got a text back from Anna that said ***good morning Handsome, I hope you have a good day as well! I love you too babe!*** I smiled and decided not to let anything ruin my good mood. I got back up and headed downstairs I went into the kitchen and asked Mrs. White if she would make Kellan something special but healthy for breakfast this morning and she smiled and said she would. I thanked her and left to go get Kellan. I figured this time I would do this by myself and I would ignore Colette if she tried to flirt with me. When I got to her door I knocked once and she opened the door she was dressed and already had Kellan’s bag in hand and was holding Kellan. I asked why she all dressed up this morning and not in her usual nightgown and she said,
“Not that it is any of your business but I'm going out for the day. So you and your mate can enjoy spending time with our son out in the open without me around.” I laughed and said like I need your permission to spend time out in public with our son.
Colette huffed and said, “no but I don’t want to see y’all out and about with our son, and I'm not allowed to be there or have any say over what you do.” I laughed and said why did you think you would have any say over what I did with our son? We are not together Colette and we will never be together. Just because we have a son together doesn’t mean I have to be with you. I Love Annalynn and I am not going to reject my mate for you because of Kellan. She huffed and handed me Kellan’s bag and then handed Kellan to me. She closed the door in my face before I had a chance to say anything else to her. I turned around and took Kellan to the dining hall for breakfast.
Annalynn’s pov
Aspen and I had a good night’s sleep and now we are up getting ready to go get a facial then we are going for a walk down by the waterfall and possibly go for a swim. Once we got dressed we headed down to the spa and signed in. we sat there while waiting to be called talking about the triplets and how Juniper keeps saying “mama’s baby” and Hardin and Aspen both keep trying to explain no more babies for right now and that the 3 of them are her babies. I told her Juniper might be trying to get attention. Once we were called back we got our facials and headed down to the waterfall. Aspen and I were both amazed at how beautiful the waterfall was. The water was clear and all the rocks and plants around it just made it so peaceful. Aspen decided she was going to strip down and just jump in. she called out from the wat and said,
“Anna jump in the water feels amazing.” I laughed and said I don’t know Aspen. She said, “come on Anna you are a wolf, not a chicken.” I laughed and said I know what I am.
I took my clothes off and jumped in. she was right the water felt amazing, it wasn’t too cold and it wasn’t like a sauna. We swam around for a while enjoying the sounds from the animals and taking in the beauty of the waterfall and its surroundings. Aspen and I laid out on the rocks where the sun was hitting and talked. She asked me if I really thought Kellan wasn’t Jakob’s and I told her yes. She said that once the test results come back and we find out for sure if he was or not. if it comes back he isn’t she would personally escort Colette to her office and give Jakob and me a chance to say whatever we want to say before she permits us to come up with a punishment for Colette’s deceit. I asked if she was allowed to let us choose how she is punished and she told me she would clear it with elder Todd but even if she couldn’t let us give the punishment she would give Colette the punishment Jakob and I want her to have. I told her thank you and we went back to soaking up the sun.
Jakob’s pov
I know Anna and Aspen haven’t been gone but a day but I am missing my sweetheart bad. I had a hard time getting Kellan down for his nap and he has been grumpy with me since I picked him up. I decided to see if Aunt Amanda could help me so I headed to her house. When I got there she opened the door and asked what was wrong and I explained that he wouldn’t take a nap and had been in a grumpy mood since this morning and she laughed and said,
“Jakob it’s normal for them to have mood swings. Why don’t you leave him with me for his nap and you go get something to snack on or go walk around while he sleeps.”
I told her thank you and gave her his bag. I left and headed to the gym. I decided I would work out for a little while to take some of my frustration out on the punching bag. After that, I went to do some leg press and I wasn’t even 10 minutes into when I heard Colette’s voice and I just got up and walked out the door. She came running out after me yelling wanting to know where her son was. I turned and said he is OUR son Colette and I don’t question you when I see you out and about without Kellan so don’t question me. he is safe with my mother inlaw. She looked at me and her face turned red and she turned and walked off cursing.
