CH.21

Jakob’s pov

When I got to Colette’s door I could hear yelling coming from inside. I knocked and when the door opened she looked mad and yelled “what” at me. I said um I'm pretty sure you are supposed to get Kellan back now. She snatched his bag from me and threw it behind her and tried to snatch Kellan out of my arms. I said you need to calm down before you end up hurting our son. She huffed at me and said,

“I'm not the one who is going to end up hurting him,” I said excuse me what is that supposed to mean?

She said, “nothing now give Kellan to me so you can go back to your mate.” I said how did you know I was going to her?

She said “it’s obvious. She is your mate and the two of you hate being away from each other. Now give me my son and go.”

I said you mean our son and I will when you calm down. She huffed a few more times and said “I'm calm now give Kellan to me so you can go.”

I handed Kellan over to her even though I knew she wasn’t fully calm but I didn’t want to go against the agreement. I need to get some type of agreement drawn up to where when I feel he should stay with me for his safety I won’t get in any trouble for keeping him. Colette slammed the door in my face and I could hear Kellan crying. i went back to my room and Anna and i ended up cuddling for a while. when i got up I headed up to Hardin and Aspen’s suite and knocked on the door. Aspen opened it and was holding Silas. when he saw me he practically jumped from Aspen’s arms and into mine. I laughed and said hey Lil man. How is uncle Jak’s boy today? Aspen said,

“he is being a little demon pup today.” I asked what he was doing and she said “he has blown up 4 diapers and I’ve had to change his clothes 6 times because of the poop and him spitting out everything he has ate and as soon as he does it he laughs at me.”

I looked at Silas and said why are you being a demon, today buddy? Silas grabbed my face and said “Ak Ak” I smiled and said what is it, buddy? Silas put his head on my shoulder, Aspen said,

“that’s something new.” I said he may sense Kellan’s smell on me. Aspen said, “I don’t know maybe I need to talk to Amanda and see if that is what is going on.”

I said Anna needs to go talk to her too maybe you and Anna should go see Aunt Amanda together and I will stay with the pups until Hardin and Thomas get back from the client's house. She told me thank you and went to go get Anna from my room.

Colette’s pov

I was going to go talk to Jakob after I took Kellan to the daycare but when I got to the top stair I heard the Luna’s voice and then I heard Annalynn’s voice. The Luna told Annalynn that Jakob was in their suite watching her pups so she and Annlynn could go see the Alpha’s mom. I decided to sneak up to the Alpha’s floor and try to talk to Jakob. I knocked on the Alpha’s door and Jakob opened it. I smiled and said got time to talk?

He said, “what are you doing up here? No, I don’t have time to talk. I am babysitting for the Luna. If Alpha Hardin or Luna Aspen find you on their floor without an appointment to see him or the Luna you are going to be in a lot of trouble. You need to leave now.”

I said I’m not worried about that. We have a son together and there are going to be times when we need to talk about him so it doesn’t matter where you are when I come to talk. Jakob said,

“leave the Alpha’s floor now Colette that is an order from the Beta of this pack.”

I laughed and said I don’t take orders from anyone and I am not going to start now. I am going to go now but only because obviously you aren’t going to talk to me right now but we will have to talk at some point alone, Jakob. He closed the door and I left the Alpha’s floor. I went down to the rec room looking for someone of the male species to keep me company for a while. There was one guy who looked pretty yummy so I started flirting with him. He started flirting back and came up to me asking who I was. I told him I was a visitor here and kept the whole Jakob thing to myself. We ended up going up to my room and he kept me entertained for 2 hours. When we were done I asked for his number that way if I got bored I could call him to come keep me company and he gave it to me. After he left I went and picked Kellan up from the daycare and took him to the park and pushed him in one of the swings.

Annalynn’s pov

Talking to my mom made me feel a little better. I now know it’s not uncommon for a wolf to wait until he or she feels their human part is ready for them to come forward. Mom told Aspen that because Silas has a strong bond with Jakob that he can sense a change between them and he is acting out because of it and is wanting to be close to Jakob. Mom also asked me about mine and Jakob’s first time and I freaked out and said really, mother? I don’t ask about you and dad because that is just weird. She laughed and said,

“it’s natural for us to talk about Anna. Aspen and I talked about her and Hardin and he is my son.” I said I know he is your son but you don’t talk to him about what him and Aspen do.

Mom said, “I'm sure Hardin and your father talk though.” I sighed and said fine mother.

Jakob had flowers and lit candles all over the room when we got back and I am the one who started it. Jakob had been avoiding the subject so I took control at first. He was gentle with me and took his time. He made sure I was ok and made sure I wanted to continue. The only problem we had was when we took a break. I stopped talking and Aspen looked at me. Mom asked what happened and I tried to come up with something but mom knew I was hiding something. Aspen said,

“Anna you need to tell her.” I put my head down and said Colette came to talk to Jakob while I was using the bathroom. Mom said “ok why would she need to talk to Jakob?”

I said because it involved Kellan. Mom said, “Anna, what in the hell did Colette need to talk to Jakob about Kellan for?”

I looked up at her and said because she was letting him know that Kellan is Jakob’s pup. My mom's mouth dropped and she said “Anna that’s not funny.“I said I am not joking mom.

She came to tell him Kellan was his and even had the birth certificate with Jakob’s name on it and had a DNA test result page that said 100% match. Aspen said “it’s true Amanda. Hardin and I saw the papers and it says Jakob is Kellan’s father. Mom sat there shocked and I asked if she knew anything about Colette. She told me Colette came from a pack in Colorado but that was all she knew about her other than she was looking for a place to stay. When we left Aspen and I went and got a snack from the kitchen then headed back up to the suite.
