Kayden I followed Dr. Jacobs out of Sonja’s room and into his office before shutting the door. “I’ll have Sonja’s discharge papers in about ten minutes,” he assured, while his eyes remained fixed on me. “Are you sure that she’s well enough to be discharged? She was just attacked a couple of hours ago.” I wanted to make sure that she healed properly. I couldn’t lose her now. “Yes, Alpha. By some miracle, as you also witnessed, she has almost healed completely. I guess some things still surprise an old wolf,” Dr. Jacobs chuckled. As soon as he spoke the word miracle, I could not ignore what I witnessed today. “Thank you doctor,” I said before I walked out of his office. I stood in the hall and leaned my body against the wall. Images of Sonja’s pained face repeatedly surfaced in my mind.
