Emily entered the room, and behind her was Lydia, who said, "Are you okay?"
Emily was standing in front of the mirror, looking at her uniform hanging in the dressing room. She turned slowly to Lydia and then said, her face as pale as a mummy's, "Lydia, who changed my clothes?"
Lydia smiled, and Emily said with a panic, "Oh my freaking God, did he, he didn't, s**t-"
Lydia interrupted her with a sarcastic laugh, then said, "Don't worry, kid, Sarah and I did, but that dickhead didn't allow us to take you here with us."
Emily breathed deeply and found the nearest seat, then sat on it and said, "God, I will definitely lose my mind."
Lydia rolled her eyes and said, "Relax, why are you so stressed?"
Emily ran a hand through her hair, then said, "Do wolves have magic, too?"
Lydia nodded, No, and then said, "Why do you say that?"
"There's something about him," Emily said confusedly. "I can't control my feelings about him; I feel things I wouldn't normally feel. The thing is, I don't know how to say it, but he's not supposed to get close to me like that."
Contrary to Lydia's sarcastic habit, she smiled sweetly at Emily and said, "Look, Eric may be a f*****g douchebag, but he's your mate. That's the Mate effect. You belong together, Emily. You can't deny it."
Emily looked at her in doubt, and Lydia said, as she sat across from her and held her hand, "Alright, let's see, did you want to hit him when he touched you?"
"He didn't touch me," Emily said defensively.
Lydia rolled her eyes and said, "Come on, b***h, you've been sleeping in his arms. I literally dragged him out of the room to change your clothes, and when he came back, he was literally babying you."
Emily's face turned red like a tomato, and she said, "He did!"
Lydia said, "Yeah, so did you want to push him or even hit him?"
Emily strained and was shy to answer, but in the end she said, "Yeah, I think I wanted to, but I couldn't. There was this feeling of sweetness and that deathly desire to run my hand through his hair. God, it was like an addiction."
Lydia smiled at her while her eyes showed genuine joy, but Sarah interrupted them, saying, "Hey girls, Emily, Eric's still waiting outside."
Emily realised that Eric had told her that he would take her on a tour before her class started today to get to know everything better about the academy, so she hurried to take a quick shower, but she did not forget that he punched Lydia in the arm when she laughed at her before she went to the bathroom.
Sarah helped her dry her hair quickly, and then she went out with the girls, and after that, to Eric.
As the girls approached Eric, Lydia pushed Emily into Eric's arms and then said, while laughing, "You're welcome!"
Emily was about to run after her, but Eric's arms around her prevented her from following Lydia as he said, "Hey, witch!"
Lydia said, "What, wolf?"
"I need one of your bubbles," Eric said directly.
"Ohooo, right away," said Lydia, teasingly.
While Emily rolled her eyes, she quickly pursed her lips before saying any bad words with Eric right beside her.
After Lydia put the bubble around them, Emily said, "It's that soundproof bubble, right?"
"It looks like you're not completely clueless," Eric said as he walked with Emily, holding her hand.
Emily rolled her eyes but didn't say anything; she just walked with Eric, eyes following them wherever they went, until Eric broke the silence by saying, "What's on your mind?"
Without thinking, Emily said, "Sarah is acting weird, or so I think."
Emily pressed her lips again, not knowing what this excessive frankness that suddenly hit her, especially since she was with Eric now. In addition to that, she did not mind that they were holding each other's hands.
Contrary to what Emily expected, Eric asked curiously, "Why, what happened?"
Emily sighed. She had already told him, so there was no harm in telling him what was going through her mind. There was a feeling inside her that was pushing her to do so anyway, so she said, "She is somehow avoiding me. I know she's not talkative like Lydia, but she doesn't even look at me."
"Does this make you sad?" Eric asked unexpectedly.
Emily shrugged and said, "I don't know; maybe I'm just confused."
Eric gently squeezed her hand, which he was holding, and said, "Don't worry; if something is wrong, it won't last long until it's revealed."
Emily smiled sweetly at him, not expecting Eric to be so calm or supportive.
Eric smiled back at her, which made a little pink colour creep into Emily's face, before Eric quickly returned to his cold face while he went with Emily to the large hall, and as soon as they entered the door, Eric's beta Tom and his followers quickly came to them.
Then Tom said directly, "Eric, I don't think it's a good idea to bring her in here today; the fighting is burning inside."
Emily's curiosity got the better of her, and she said, "Why, what's in there?"
Tom looked at Eric first, then at Emily, and said, "It's the Angels Fighting Training Day. The name might fool you, but they're more like demons when they fight."
Emily said, "Oh, then Aiden is fighting today too."
Eric's jaw clenched, and his eyes turned red for a split second before returning to normal, but Emily didn't notice, of course.
Eric said, "Come on, we'll see it later."
But Emily grabbed his hand and said, "Can I watch them, please?"
Eric was feeling so jealous now, but of course his stupid wolf wouldn't stand up against Emily's puppy eyes looking kindly at him.
Tom and those with him were definitely shocked when Eric said, "Okay, but if you leave my side or even my hand, there will be consequences, Emily."
As if Emily had only heard Eric's approval, she smiled broadly as she dragged Eric inside, leaving Tom and those with him to look at Eric with their mouths hanging open. It seems that even Eric's wolf will bow to his mate after all.
Emily entered with Eric inside and was surprised by the size of the hall, but she did not really see it clearly as Eric avoided going down the direct path and took the side path in order to keep Emily away from the fight.
The sounds of shouting and encouragement actually filled the hall, and Emily was not afraid at all, contrary to what Eric had expected; rather, she was looking around with fascination, trying to peek out from among the columns to see the combatants.
Eric and Emily climbed the back stairs until they climbed to the upper cabin of the alpha and those with him, and it is a cabin that reveals the entire arena, but it is relatively far from it.
Emily stood with Eric as she followed the fight in astonishment. Her eyes were moving as fast as the fighters, who moved like a blink of an eye, but surprisingly, Emily was able to keep up with them, and while Eric's eyes were shifting between her and the arena, Emily's eyes never left the arena until she heard that sound that attracted her attention entirely.
"What are you doing here?"
And Emily said, "Oh, hi Aiden, I've been waiting to see you. When will your fight begin?"
But instead of answering, Aiden turned to Eric and said, "Are you nuts?"
Eric looked at him sharply and said, "It's none of your business, angel boy. She's my mate."
Aidan's jaw clenched, and he didn't know what to say. He was right; she was his mate, but Aiden didn't know where this feeling that overwhelmed him to protect Emily as soon as he laid eyes on her came from; he didn't want to admit to Eric, not even to himself, that he was worried—worried as hell, in fact.
But he just said, "Keep your eyes on her, Alpha."
Then he left and went to the beginning of the arena, ready to take his turn in the fight, while Emily was still looking between him and Eric nervously. After Aidan moved away, Emily said, "Can you please stop treating him like this?"
Eric rolled his sharp eyes at Emily. She tensed at first but said frankly that she was getting used to it with Eric by now: "I don't know how to describe this, but he's very important to me, so please don't treat him like that."
Eric's wolf was burning with jealousy besides Eric's own jealousy, but unlike what Eric had expected, his wolf was silent; he didn't motivate him to go and tear Aiden to pieces, but rather he was kind of recognising Aiden's right to protect Emily, and this was weird, weird in a way that made Eric, for the first time in his life, get confused.
Aiden was about to start fighting with the winner of the previous fight, the Prince of the Elves Kingdom, but before he started, he looked at Emily, who was waving at him to go to her.
Aiden frowned tensely and went to her immediately. He also noticed that Eric seemed surprised by Emily's act.
When Aiden reached the cabin, Emily said directly, "He's hiding something under that thing he's wearing, and he was attacked by his left shoulder. He's using the bows without the archer too, so keep that in mind."
Aiden and Eric looked at her, and she said, Confused. "What?"
Aiden looked at her strangely and then returned to the arena, while Eric mentally cursed and Emily repeated her question, "What?"
Eric did not answer her; all he thought about was that he had to tell his father. Emily's abilities were activated; the first ability of the guardians was to watch and analyze; she knew the weaknesses of the Prince of the Elves without realising it, and it seems that Aiden noticed that too. That means she would be in damn danger if anyone else noticed. Eric unconsciously squeezed Emily's hand, his wolf growling inside his mind to get her out of the hall. Now he had to protect her.
