Emily woke up to a pair of strong arms surrounding her, where her hot breath collided with a strong body and bounced back in her face, despite the feeling of warmth in addition to many other feelings that Emily was feeling at the time. Most importantly, she felt safe. However, despite the fact that she still closed her eyes, she held her eyebrows at this strange feeling, as she did not remember that she slept in someone's arms. She had never done that before, as far as she remembered.
Emily opened her eyes to meet a naked, muscular chest. Her eyes widened as she tried to push that body away from her before she even saw the face of the owner, but that only led to his grip tightening around her more.
Emily raised her head in panic, then was shocked by Eric's face, who was sleeping peacefully. She gasped with surprise and tried to push again, but it was like a static mountain that did not move. Emily said while trying, "Let me go, wolf."
As if Eric had not heard anything from her at all, he did not move even an inch, and he remained like that even with Emily's multiple attempts to push him, until she lost hope of letting his hands loosen around her even for a little bit and just gave up.
Eric said in a sleepy voice, "Let me sleep for a while, human. My wolf almost had a heart attack because of you. The least you have to do is let us sleep."
Emily said angrily, "I didn't stop you from sleeping; I just told you to let me go."
"Shhh, sleep now," was all Eric said before burying his head in Emily's neck, whose face turned red, and stammering as she said, "Yo, .. yoou pervert, you, what the f**k are you doing. Let go!"
"I'm not a pervert; I'm your mate, and don't curse, kid," said Eric, still on his spot.
Eric's hot breath in her neck was driving her crazy, and her heart was beating so fast like war drums that she thought it was going to explode. She did not find the strength to say another word, and her eyes were fixed on Eric's wonderful hair scattered in front of her, and she felt an urgent desire—and she did not know where it came from—to put her hand in his hair. But since she was caught in this strange embrace, she couldn't let go of her hands, and she was too distracted by Eric's hot breath hitting her neck anyway.
She suddenly remembered that she was with Aiden yesterday in a place above the clouds. How did she end up in Eric's arms then? They were even in the middle of the school day, and what about the whisper she heard. Was it Eric or Aiden?
Emily hit Eric on the chest with her small fist and said, "Hey wolf, how did I end up here? I remember very well being up on a hill in the clouds."
Eric opened his eyes and looked at Emily, who hadn't yet realised how close their faces were, then said with a raised eyebrow, "You're not going to let me get a good sleep, right?"
Emily rolled her eyes and said, "Duh, answer my damn question."
Eric simply said, "You passed out, and that pale guy brought you to me; that's it. Happy now."
Eric returned to his position as it was, and Emily rolled her eyes a little, trying to remember anything from what happened, but she could not, so she went back to disturbing Eric again, saying, "Hey, Wolf, How is that even possible? I was just sleeping."
Eric raised his head at her, and his eyes met hers. "Didn't you try to practice magic yesterday? That made your energy drop as you were flying with that i***t. You only looked tired, but as soon as you fell asleep, you passed out."
Emily said, "How did I get here?"
Eric sighed and said, "Everyone knows you're my mate; of course I'll be the first one in mind if something happens."
Emily was about to ask something else, but Eric interrupted her, saying, "I've never talked so much in my life, and it's still four in the morning. Please let me sleep."
And unlike Emily's habit, she just didn't speak or do anything. Tiredness was already apparent on Eric's face, so she was surprised when she let him go back to bury his head in her neck, and his hot breath on her neck no longer bothered her; it was just... peaceful.
But Emily could not keep her hand in place, and unconsciously her hand found a way to Eric's hair, who seemed to be enjoying Emily's hands in his hair, so that he went back to sleep faster than he imagined, and this was something he had not tried before, as Eric was suffering from insomnia.
Emily did not know when she went back to sleep either, but she woke up to the sound of her stomach rumbling. She had not eaten anything since yesterday's breakfast, which was not a meal to depend on. She looked at Eric and wanted to let him sleep a little longer, but Emily was terrified of that sweet side that suddenly appeared towards Eric, so she pushed him to wake him up.
Eric groaned. He loved sleeping with Emily already; it was giving a wonderful feeling to his wolf, so he stopped bothering Eric, and they both got good sleep for the first time in a while.
But Emily interrupted this peaceful sleep, saying, "You've made my shoulder numb with your heavy head. Move, or let me move."
Eric looked annoyed at her and didn't say anything, which sent shivering down her spine, but of course she wouldn't show it, so she said, "Come on, wolf, I'm hungry too."
Eric remembered that Emily had already been asleep for a whole day, so of course she would be hungry, and his wolf had already begun to growl, so he got out of bed and headed to a corner in the room. And Emily did not forget, as she was stretching her arms to show him how much her body hurt from the way she slept. But Eric did not pay her any attention and continued what he was doing.
Emily looked around in amazement, then said, "Where are we? This place looks fancy."
Eric returned to the bed, where Emily was still lying, looking at the room. He pushed her hand that she was putting on her stomach and put his head instead while embracing her waist, then he said, "In my room."
Emily was about to argue with him about what he had done, but she said with surprise, "You have a room for yourself. Waah, I can't believe it; that's so unfair, s**t, they put me, Sarah, and Lydia in the same damn room."
But instead of answering, she was surprised by Eric's loud voice, saying, "Stop cursing, kid; where did you learn that language from?"
"It's none of your damn business," Emily said teasingly.
Eric's eyes darkened, and he said, "The next time I hear a bad word from you, I'll mark you."
Emily looked at him in disbelief, then giggled and said, "Ayy, you won't do that."
"Try me," said Eric, still giving her the same tense look.
Before Emily could say anything, they heard a knock at the door, and Eric moved to the door, then came back with a tray full of food, and then said, "Eat." while placing it on the table.
Emily didn't like his way of giving orders, but the smell of food caressing her nose made her forget even what she wanted to say, go to the table, and start eating immediately.
And while Eric looked at her in despair at her childish behaviour, he ruffled her hair and then went to the bathroom to wash and change clothes, or actually put them on.
Then suddenly Emily's voice was heard saying, "Hey, Wolf, won't you eat?"
Eric could not prevent the smile that appeared on his mouth while he was running the water, although he didn't answer. He did not feel that she was trying to tease him; her voice was really showing her concern, and that was what made him smile. Despite their little quarrel yesterday, this sudden development really impressed Eric, even if he did not show it. Even Emily did not expect to open up to Eric so quickly, but she felt safe with him in this place that seemed completely strange, and this is what Emily wanted to feel, so even if it required her to bear his cold personality in exchange for her feeling of safety, she would just go with it.
After Emily finished eating her food and Eric got dressed, Eric and Emily were now heading to Emily's dorm, but the road was not devoid of Emily's attempts to tease him, which Eric considered a new habit now. Emily said, "Why don't you wear a uniform like me and the rest here?" "
"I own this place, kid," said Eric proudly.
Emily raised an eyebrow at him, then said, "And."
And Eric said, "And what?"
Emily exhaled and was content with only sarcastic looks until she heard Lydia's voice, or rather, Lydia's scream.
She looked at the other end to see Lydia trying to run to her, but Sarah was holding her arm to stop her. Emily said loudly, "Hey, bitc, bisties, I mean bisties."
And she took a quick look at Eric, who was looking at her with the same tense look from the morning, so she ran quickly to where Sarah and Lydia were, then passed them and entered the room.
And again, Eric couldn't help but smile, and how much he regretted that, because Lydia had already screamed, and her scream attracted the attention of everyone around them: "He smiled! Oh my God, he smiled"
