*Steven POV*
I look down at my dead wife and just smirk. I have been searching for ways to finally get rid of her, and my son gave me the perfect way. Bryson will regret ever turning his back on me.
I raised him the way I had to. He was supposed to be my key player. Well him and that i***t friend of his Caine. They were close. Too close if you ask me. I had tried several times to get rid of Caine, but he was a stubborn kid. In the end, he proved his worth.
Until today.
"Dante, clean up this mess. This whôre is making my floor all dirty. Get her out of my sight." I snapped impatiently. "Yes, Boss. Right away." Dante chuckled darkly and began screaming out demands to the cleaning crew.
I scrolled through my phone and dialed the one person I had on the inside over there at Anders's house. George. The Kingston's private doctor. I hope that Bryson doesn't realize he saw him here before. He was my main mole there.
He knew the ins and outs there. They always spoke about their business around him. I knew everything about that family.
I clicked on his name and waited for him to answer.
"Hello, Steven," George replied softly.
"George, good to hear your voice. Tell me what's going on over there?" I asked cautiously.
"Well, to be honest, I am not really sure. Everyone is acting very strange around me. Bryson is in his room, but it is heavily guarded. I asked if they wanted me to check on him, but they cut that idea off quickly. Do you think they suspect anything?" George said
nervously.
"Fûck. Bryson must have said something. You need to find a way out of there and fast. They will kill you if they find out you are nothing but an enemy to them. Especially knowing how close to the family you are. You can't let them get away with any of this. Call me when you are on your way here. Okay?" I said sternly.
"I will do my best. I did inject Jackson with a poison. It won't kill him right away. It will be slow and agonizing as he slowly dies right before their eyes." George laughs softly.
"Ahh. That's excellent, my friend. We need to find a way to get close to Jade. She is the key to all of this. Once you get here, we will come up with a plan to get her. Bryson will regret the day he turned his back on me. I will ruin that family until no one is left. Be safe and get your âss back here ASAP." I disconnected the call and set back in my chair.
I needed to keep a close eye on Jade. That little bîtch was my meal ticket. Once I got a hold of her, everything else would fall into place. I smiled evilly and decided to set my plans in motion.

*Jade POV*
I wasn't sure why, but something didn't feel right. I got out of bed and headed out of my room. I looked around and spotted more guards than usual. What's going on?
I headed for my father's office when I passed by Bryson's room. Several guards were standing by his door. I could hear sobbing coming from his room. My heart clenched painfully, hearing him crying. Bryson was a strong man, and hearing the anguish in his voice made me want to destroy who made him feel that way.
I walked over to Bryson's door and stood in front of the guards. "I want to see Bryson. Let me through." I snapped impatiently. They moved aside, and I opened the door softly as I knocked. "Bryson? It's Jade. I'm coming in." I say cautiously.
He didn't respond, but I knew he heard me because the crying stopped. I walked in and looked up at Bryson, and my whole world fell apart. The look of despair and complete devastation he showed on his face made me rush over to his side without a second thought.
"Bryson. Oh my God, what happened?" I asked hesitantly as I embraced him tightly in my arms. He wrapped his arms around me and just shook uncontrollably. "My father... killed... my... mom." He whispered roughly, "She's gone, and it's all my fault."
WHAT?
"Bryson, I am so sorry. When did this happen? How did you find out?" I asked hesitantly as he sobbed quietly in my arms.
"Earlier, when I was with your parents. I told them everything and my father called. I stood up to my father and told him I was done with his plan to kill you and ruin this family. I told him that I knew he lied all this time and that I was taking your side. He killed my mother. I told her everything, especially how I felt about you. She told me never to let you go and to fight for what I want. That I had my whole life ahead of me. Then he shot her right there on the phone while I listened just to get back at me for turning my back on him." Bryson said, gritting his teeth.
I can't believe his father would do that to him. That was horrible. All I wanted to do was strangle that man with my bare hands and then kill him in the slowest and most cruelest way possible. Bryson was mine. Even though I felt betrayed and hurt by him, he was still mine.
I cupped his face and wiped the tears running down his cheeks with my thumbs. "Listen to me, Bryson. It is not your fault. Do you hear me? I won't let you take the blame for something so vile that your father did. You didn't hold the gun and do it yourself. That bâstard did. He will pay for what he has done. I promise you that, but you have to stop blaming yourself. Okay?" I said with a fierceness.
He gulped loudly and nodded hesitantly. I felt another set of arms wrap around me from the back. Caine. "Bryson, I just found out what happened. You are not alone in this brother. You got me, and you got Jade. Steven will pay for everything he has done. I won't let him get away with hurting you." Caine said with a deadly calmness as he tightened his hold on me.
"Thanks. You don't know how much that means to me." Bryson says with a pained voice.
