Chapter One... Jade Turns Eighteen
Why did today have to be so long? All I wanted was for it to be over. I had classes today and then my mom and two dads wanted to go out and do something special. Why you ask? Because today was my eighteenth birthday.
Don't get me wrong or misunderstand me. I absolutely adore and love my parents. They are everything to me. I know they had a rough time when they first met. They never told me the full story, but I know it was bad.
The thing is I just want to let loose today and I can't let loose around my parents.
My two dads would go crazy and kill anyone who messed with me. Do you think I'm lying? Oh, believe me, I am being completely honest. They are so protective over me and I love that, but sometimes it can be overbearing. I get it. I really do, but sometimes I just want to have fun.
I know that's hard since one of my dads happens to be *drumroll* The Mafia King and my other dad is his second in command. Yes, you guessed it, I am sheltered from EVERYTHING.
If I can manage it, I am going to sneak out and hang with my cousins, Jenna and Declan. They are my best friends as well. We literally do everything together.
* Knock*
*Knock*
"Come in," I said softly. My bedroom door opened and my Dad Jackson came strolling in with a big smile on his face."Good morning my little gem." He said lovingly. "Morning Daddy. You know I'm not a little girl anymore, right? I'm eighteen today." I say perplexed.
He sits down next to me and embraces me tightly. "Happy Birthday Princess," he says softly, "And to answer your question. Yes, I am aware you are not a little girl anymore, but you will always be my little gem," Then he smacks me softly on the back of the head and laughs, "So get used to it."
I just scoffed and turned my head away trying to hide my smile. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY!" My mom comes running into the room yelling.
"Mom. You don't have to yell. You're going to make me go deaf." I said smiling mischievously and covering my ears. She just narrows her eyes at me while pointing her finger at me. "There's no need to get sarcastic."
"She reminds me of you bunny." says my other dad Anders as he walks into the room and nips her ear as he hugs her from behind. My mom just scoffs and then I see her whole body trembling from his touch. He looks up at me and smiles warmly. "Morning baby girl. Happy Birthday. Are you ready for tonight?"
My dad Jackson mumbles something under his breath and gets up, leans over and kisses my forehead, then moves next to my other two parents and gives them a look and then walks out of the room.
Okay.
What was that about?
I open my mouth to answer my dad, but he releases my mom and walks over to me, and wraps his arms around me. "Please be good today baby. I know it's your birthday and all, but you know who I am and how dangerous it can be. Just know that we love you so much and we don't want anything to happen to you. I have things to discuss with Jackson. I will see you tonight."
He kisses my cheek and then leaves the room. "Jade, sweetheart. I know you want to go hang with your cousins Jenna and Declan today, but your fathers have been planning your eighteenth birthday for a long time. They are beyond excited about it. If you promise me that you will at least give them your full attention tonight, I will cover for you when you try to sneak out."
My eyes widened with shock and my face reddened bright. "M-Mom! What are you talking about?" I stammered out. "Oh! Please, Jade. I may be getting older, but I know what teenage girls think about. Just promise to be careful otherwise I won't be able to sit for a year without feeling it. Do we have a deal?" She said calmly, but she flinched at the mention of not being able to sit for a year. I chuckled inwardly. My dads were pretty possessive and controlling when it came to my mom, but she loved every second of it.
I looked at her and nodded my head in agreement. "Okay, Mom. We have a deal."
She just smiled knowingly and quickly hugged and kissed me and then rushed out of my room telling me that her men were waiting for her.
That's when it hit me. Ewww!! Gross. TMI! I didn't need those thoughts in my head. I shake them away, then get up and get ready for the day.
I take a quick shower and get dressed then do my daily morning routine quickly and then head out to where my bodyguards are.
"Morning boys. To school, please. I have so much to do before tonight." I said smirking darkly. "You're going to get us in so much trouble, aren't you Jade?" Gene says as he winced from his words, "Boss is going to shove his foot so far up our âss and it's going to be all your fault."
I just chuckled loudly and shook my head. "You sound like babies. Be men for fûcks sake." Gene and Don just looked at me and scowled.
Gene opened my door and I scooted in and then he closed the door behind me. I scanned through my social media until the SUV stopped in my school parking lot. Don opened my door and then they both proceeded to follow me as usual.
"Oh come on guys, give me a break just today. I don't need you guys to shadow me constantly. I am at school surrounded by thousands of kids my age. What could possibly go wrong?" I pouted and stomped my foot.
"It's our job, Jade. We will keep you safe whether you think you are safe or not. Stop complaining or you're going to be late for class." Don grumbled out.
I looked at my phone and saw the time. I shrieked out and rushed as fast as I could to get to my class on time.
I would find a way to ditch them later. I needed alone time with my besties!

After class, I sat at the lunch table with Jenna and Declan. Don and Gene stood behind me and I just huffed with frustration. I had tried to lose them, but they caught onto my idea and stopped me real fast. They called my dad, Anders, and let's just say that he wasn't very happy at all. He told me he was disappointed in me and that hurt me the worst.
I crave my parents' approval. They raised me the best they could and I just want to make them happy. Hurting them hurts me. I tried to explain that I just wanted a few minutes to myself, but he said we would talk about it later, once I got home.
I don't think I will be able to sneak out now. That sucks a lot, but it is my own damn fault. I reached for my pita sandwich when I felt the hair on my neck rise and a cold chill wracked my body.
What. The. Fûck?
I felt like someone was watching me. I cautiously looked around the lunch room, when I spotted the culprit or should I say, culprits. Two sets of eyes burned their gaze on me.
They were so fûcking sexy and God I felt like I could die a happy person. They looked good enough to eat.
What the hêll was I saying?
One of them smirked mischievously and then leaned forward and whispered something in their friend's ear. I don't know what came over me, but the looks they were giving me made my insides explode and I was instantly dripping juices on my panties.
I gasped sharply and with a horrified expression, I got up and rushed out of the lunch room. Jenna and Declan rushed behind me, but I made it to the SUV and bent over heaving heavily. I gasped for air and still felt like I was being watched. I looked around frantically and found them standing by the gym door outside.
Evil smirks played on their faces. What the hêll was their problem? "Bîtch, seriously what's your problem? What the hêll was that in there?" Jenna scoffed. "Yeah, that was totally unlike you Jade. What the fûck?" Declan growled with annoyance.
"They were watching me and they followed me outside. I freaked out." I mumbled nervously. Gene and Don were instantly on alert looking all around. "Who?" Jenna gasps as she frantically slings her head around looking for my two culprits.
Wait... did I just say my??? I mean the two culprits. Jesus. What is wrong with me today?
"They are over there by the gym do-" I began, but stopped when I noticed that no one was there, "B-But they were right there." I strained out. Jenna and Declan exchange glances and then back at me. "Let's head out and skip the last couple of classes. What do you say? They are only for catching up on homework and I know for a fact that we have never had to deal with that, so what do you say?" Declan says trying to calm me down.
Gene and Don look like they are contemplating what to do, but finally nod their heads and open the door for Jenna, Declan, and myself. We get inside and they shut the door behind us.
As we pull out of the parking lot, I look over my shoulder and tense up. There standing behind the tree are both my culprits with evil grins on their faces as they wave goodbye to me.
I gulp inwardly and then smack my head. I said my again.
Why did I feel like something was about to happen in my life and that nothing would ever be the same again?
Who were these two guys?
What was their deal?
Most importantly,
Why was I their main focus?
