Chapter 4

"Hey!" I yelled at her as I was running behind her, but to no avail did she even take notice of me. My eye caught a wolf running right behind me. A chilling scream filled the woods and as soon as I saw her I grabbed her from behind pulling her tiny body behind me to shield her from the wolves.

"It's going to be alright, sweetie just take a breath for me okay?"

"So sweet, tell me do you think that you're going to make it out alive?"

"Trust me, I am going to!" I said as I looked around seeing that we had an opening if we could run back the way we came.

"You're a human living with a pack with no mate? That is sad!"

"Sweetie, I need you to be brave for me alright? Close your eyes and count to three!" I asked her keeping her calm while looking at the bloodlust rogues in front of me.

"We'll be quick trust me!"

"Sweetie, I'm going to count to three then you're going to run," I whispered into her ear when my eye caught the wolves coming closer. That was when I grabbed my wand pointing it directly at them.

"Episkey!" I yelled seeing how all of them started to scream in pain. I got up on my feet running after the little girl when she wanted to stop I yelled at her to keep running since the spell only lasted a few minutes. I kept on looking back making sure that they were not after us, but failed to look on the side.

"Stupid b***h!" was all I heard before I felt a sharp pain in my back. I was pressed up against one of the trees hanging like a doll with no power by my throat. My wand was in no reach and within minutes my airway got blocked. I tried to fight him, but his laugh made him apply more pressure.

"Ple..plea.." with stuttering words leaving my body and no air coming back I could feel my body slowly drifting away.

"She's my f*****g b***h!" was all I heard before my body fell to the floor leaving me to cough from the lack of oxygen. My eyes caught the ruthless alpha throwing the man against a tree before he went at him like a wild animal. I was about to get up until he bit his neck pulling out a piece of flesh. He stood with his back to me while the body of the man fell to the cold floor. His breathing was deep and unsteady.

"Hey, you're okay! I've got you!" my brother said as he came rushing up towards me. He checked me for any injuries and then helped me up from the ground. My eyes were fixed on the alpha who was staring at the body lying beneath him.

"Get me a stake!" he roared from anger. Findlay handed him a stake making me wonder what he was about to do and my eyes could not believe it. He ripped his head off placing it right through the stake.

"Put this up, for all rogues to see!" he stated and that is when I saw his face. His eyes locked onto mine for a second I could see the anger in those deep hazel eyes. He cleared his throat and then changed into his wolf running off.

His wolf was massive and you could tell that he was no ordinary wolf. He had the most beautiful black fur with bloody red eyes. Wait why does this look so familiar?

"Let's get you home!" was all I could hear while my mind was going insane. When we got into the car we drove straight home. To my total surprise, he took us to Rosewood. The drive back was uncomfortable and full of silence which made me nauseous. I kept my eyes outside of the window while my mind was on a wild goose chase.

"Please pack light, anything that you will need we can buy!" I heard him say giving her a peck on the cheek. She jumped out of the car greeting me then ran into her house.

"Where is your house, H?" he asked with a low tone. It's been years since I heard that name and was taken aback by it.

"Uhm.. sorry, just down the street. The small white cottage on your right-hand side." with those words he drove as soon as we had reached my home he switched off the engine and climbed out to help me. Once we were inside I headed straight for the kitchen to grab a glass of cold water. I gulp it down to smooth the burning sensation that was in my throat.

"Hot tea with some honey will do the trick!" he said smiling at me knowing that he felt bad for what had happened. I placed my wand on the counter seeing his eyes twitching from my movement.

"Thanks, take care of Railey! She can be demanding sometimes, but she's a good wolf!"

"I know, Haylie I just want to say..."

A heavy sigh followed my words "Don't! Just don't, Nicholas!"

"Haylie?"

"Let me walk you out. Make sure that she calls me, okay?"

"Yeah, I'll make sure!" with those words I was about to close the door when he stopped me from closing it with his foot.

"H it's good seeing you. You were brave today doing what you did!" he stated with a smile before he left me standing there looking at him with astonishment. After his car had disappeared I went to take a shower to get this dress off of my body to throw it away. The hot water felt amazing on my skin so I stood there till it ran cold. After my shower, I got dressed into a plane shirt that covered most of everything and let my hair hang loose. I made myself a cup of coffee and headed to my desk.

'Dear Diary,

Today was one weird day! I met my brother Nicholas again after fifteen years. He still looked the same as I could remember him, but he was more of a man now than he was at that time. My nightmares started to come back again last night. I don't know why, but for some odd reason, I think the dreams are trying to show me something important. I don't know what yet, but I met Nick's alpha of the Crescent Blood Moon pack. The first original werewolf of its kind and he is something strange... My magic didn't work on him at all which seems weird right? I also lost my best friend since she is mated to my brother she needs to move to the pack grounds.

How am I going to survive this? I've been running for years and finally got a home. What happens if I lose myself again?'

I was taken from my thoughts when the doorbell rang. I looked at the time wondering who could that be closing my diary. I stood up to see who was at the door at this hour, only to be shocked by who was standing in front of me.

"Alpha, what are you doing here?"

"I just wanted to say thank you for looking after that little girl today and also wanted to check up on you!" he said while walking past me into my house. This guy is not serious, is he? Does he think he owns this place?

"I would do it again, but with all respect what do you want?"

"You know why I am here don't you?"

"No, I don't and would love to know what I did to receive this entrance! Hopefully, you're also here to apologize?" I said sounding sarcastic.

"For what?" he replied with his eyes on me.

"I heard what you called me, alpha Rayden!" I said crossing my arms over my chest to show that I was not at all happy with his words.

"I'm not apologizing for that, princess!" he said taking a step closer.

"Well, then you can leave!" I informed him opening the door for him. He walked up to me while looking straight into my eye. Those hazel eyes made my body tremble from something that was not fear, but thirst. My breathing slowed down rapidly when he finally spoke up to break the torture.

"Your my b***h, princess and I will not apologize for that! Have a lovely eve.." was all he got to say before my hand had met his perfect jawline.

"Maybe you should just leave now!" I said through gritted teeth.
