Chapter 5

After our encounter in the forest I had no other option, but to drag the witch along. There was something about her that I could not place. We were doing our usual rounds checking up on points when we heard that rogues came through on the west grounds, yet to my surprise we found the little witch screaming at her friend until she saw us. My eyes were observing her every move and from what my wolf could tell she was scared. Within seconds the clouds were roaring from thunder, yet her eyes never left mine. She had long dark hair with an hourglass body. Her cleavage was drawing me in. "Are the two of you lost?" I asked with a dark voice. "We don't want any trouble, okay?" "If that is so then kindly explain why did the two of you cross the border?" "Haylie! Wait up!" Someone yelled only to find one of the omega's with a pale face looking at me. "Alpha! I apologize these ladies had lost their way! I will escort them back home!" "No, you won't! I am not going anywhere with you! You're a sick bastard who needs help!" "Haylie, calm down! You're kind of losing it!" her friend spoke up, yet her words were halfway out when my pack started to move closer as they did not like this any bit, but I found it interesting. "You're a witch!" I found myself asking amused by this stupid situation. "Yes, let me and my friend go now or I will do something that you will regret!" "Is that so little witch, how about we find out!" "Wait, you're not scared?" "Why should I be? I'm going to rip you to shreds then I'll place you on poles for the entire witches council to see!" I said to see what she would do and to my surprise, her reaction was indeed what I was looking for. The ground started to shake while lightning bolts came crashing down on us. "Let us go!" she said. "Wait! Please.." My eyes were taken from her to the person who owned that voice. I was shocked to see who it belonged, to be honest. So my most trusted man had a secret that must have been killing him for years, cause the look in his eyes showed different emotions. My attention was all on the little witch and her sassy attitude. "No! There is no way on this earth or the next that the two of you could be.." the witch said while looking back and forth between my beta and her friend. "MATES!" my beta confirmed what I suspected. "Congratulations, but I made a promise to someone who is standing right there!" I said pointing directly at the witch hearing the wolfs growling from my words. "You can't hurt her, Rayden!" My beta inform me leaving me pissed. "Sorry, Alpha!" he quickly added. "And why is that Nick?" I said bluntly with white fists knowing that he was not going to disrespect me like this. "Cause she is my sister!" he finally answered the question that was asked. "You have a brother, Haylie what is going on?" "I don't have a brother, I had one now please let us go!"the witch spoke with pure hatred. "Do you think that I will send my mate away?" my beta took a step towards them knowing full well what he could be cable off. "Well then keep her, just let me go!" the little witch tried to beg, but her pleading wasn't going through to Nick. "Wait what! I'm not leaving you!" her friend spoke up clearing the silence that is when I cleared my throat with a smirk and said: "Nick, invite your friends for dinner tonight! I would love to get to know my beta's mate!" The entire way home my wolf felt uneasy and tense. I've dealt with witches before, but none had me feeling like this. I had already mind-linked my maid to get the food ready and she did, cause once we were close to home you could smell the freshly cooked meals. The meal was good and I was trying to get to know Nicks's mate, but things had quickly turned south when he and his sister picked up a fight. I looked at her dark hair and that full round ass, yet I was taken from my thoughts when she raised her voice gaining all of my attention again. "Yeah, I don't like packs and I sure as hell don't like you! I hate and despise you, Nicholas!" she said before throwing the napkin on the table and taking her leave. Nick was about to get up, but I stopped him. "Please, let me!" I said while giving him an order to stay. I walked out of the room just in time to push the front door close leaving her in total shock and riddled with fear. "Thank you for all of your honesty! Anything else that you would like to get out of your system, princess?" I asked her softly. "Packs hate witches, so why am I still alive?" "Well, not all packs. You see I rule the part where you live so that means your friend broke the rules. Since you know so much about packs I'm sure you will know what can happen to her!" I whispered into her ear softly, before the wave of strawberries had hit my nose. My wolf felt calm and collected. "She.." "Lydia, please have the spare room ready for Haylie in a few minutes!" I said catching her looking at me with disbelief. "Of course, Alpha!" "I am going home, now if you'll excuse me I need to get going!" she said trying to open the door, but stopped as soon as I broke the silence. "If you as so much take a step out of this house, I will tear Railey up myself!" I said with a dark tone. "Glad to see that it caught your attention! You are in my territory now, prinses time to obey!" "I will never obey you! This little scheme of yours is not going to keep me here!" "You can tell that to your brother once his mate is lying in millions of pieces!" I said losing patience with her. My words must have gotten to her when she decided to nod as a response. "Marvelous, I'll have Lydia show you the way to your room!" "I'll burn this place down!" she dared to say. "Try it! You won't be the first witch to underestimate me, princess!" I stated while pointing towards the stairs. Once she was gone I walked towards the dining room where my beta was busy making out with his new mate. I cleared my throat when both glared at me. "Office now!" I commanded. I stormed into my office throwing a glass of whiskey only to down it with one shot. My wolf was beside himself and I was not sure why as yet, but one thing was for sure was that the little witch was the reason for this. "Alpha, I.." "Did I ask you to talk, beta?" I asked. "No, Alpha!" "Good, so you still understand the rules of this pack! When were you going to tell me about this?" I asked as I switched my attention to him. "To be honest Alpha, I didn't think that she was still alive! Last I heard the council were looking for her..." "So you assumed that the council had killed her?" "We always do Alpha! The council is horrible people who pray on innocent people!" "They keep balance, Nick!" "Then what are we doing, Rayden? I can't hate my sister, cause she is a witch nor will I stand here trying to right the wrong that I did!" he said and that is when I noticed tears in his eyes. Nick was fierce and hardheaded, crying was never in his DNA until today. She meant family and there is one thing that my family learned me is that you can't pick them. "I can't keep her here, Nick! I will arrange for someone to escort her home in the morning. Once she leaves, you will have a choice to make either you stay with the pack and write off your sister or leave!" "What?" he asked with a mouth wide open. "You know pack rules, beta! Or should I teach them to you again?" I asked seeing how he shook his head. "Can I say goodbye in the morning?" "That's not up to me, now is that?" I asked raising an eyebrow.
