Ammaline Pearson :
"What's wrong with my son?" Mrs. Parker looked at me curiously.
I noticed the face that everyone was looking at me so I made an excuse.
"I heard that Mr. Eric is so busy with his works so I don't want to bother him. Plus, I'm not someone who he should meet." I gave Mr. and Mrs. Parker an excuse.
"You two will meet in the future. If possible, I want you to get close with Eric." Mrs. Parker said.
I was stunned with what Mrs. Parker just said and I didn't know how to react. She was so straightforward.
"Mom, she doesn't want to meet my brother. Why do you still force her to meet him?" Jessica finally helped with the awkwardness that I was having.
"Jess, don't interrupt it's elder's business." Mrs. Parker said to her daughter coldly.
"You should know that my brother doesn't like woman. If you want him to meet Ammaline, he might bully her." Jessica said.
"Stop talking! Hurry and eat before the food gets cold." Mr. Parker stopped the daughter and mother from talking.
I felt like Jessica was trying to help me so like lowkey smiled at her and she winked at me.
We all sat there quietly and ate the food. I finished eating and felt so full. I stayed at the Parker's mansion for a little bit longer after lunch.
"Uncle and auntie, thank you so much for the lunch. It was so delicious." I told Mr. and Mrs. Parker politely.
"I'm glad that you enjoy it. You can come and have a meal here whenever you want." Mrs. Parker said.
"Auntie, it's time for me to go back to work. I'm going to leave now and thanks once again for the delicious food." I said politely.
"Ok! Drive back safely." Mr. Parker said.
"Then, goodbye uncle and auntie." I said to the couple and turned around to see Jessica.
"Goodbye, Jess!" I waved at her.
"Wait, Ammaline." Jessica stopped me and Mr. and Mrs. Parker looked at us.
"...." I raised my eyebrows and looked at her curiously.
"I want to go to the mall. Can you drop me at the mall on your way back?" she asked me while holding my hand.
"Jess, Ammaline is going to work. Don't trouble her, okay?" Mr. Parker calmly talked to his daughter.
As Jessica heard that. she looked at me with her puppy eyes and still held my hand.
"It's okay, Mr. Parker. I can drop her at the mall." I smiled at Mr. Parker.
"You see, dad?" Jessica turned to her dad and made a face which I couldn't see.
"Let's go!" I told Jessica.
Both Jessica and I walked into my car. Jessica, sat on the front passenger seat. I started my car and drove away.
"Sister, now tell me why don't you want to meet my brother?" Jessica asked me honestly.
"Wuhh kid, you're so straightforward." I commented.
"Would you mind answering my question?" she asked me.
"Why should I meet your brother?" I asked her back.
"You should know that my parents and your parents want to marry you guys together, shouldn't you?" Jess asked me which freaked me out.
"How did you know this? Your parents told you?" I asked.
"To be honest, my parents didn't tell me, but I eavesdropped. That's why I know everything." she said honestly.
"Since, you're so honest with me. Lemme tell you this. But promise me that you won't tell your parents or else they're be disappointed."
"Ok! I'm a good secret keeper so you can trust me." she grinned.
"I don't want to marry your brother." I said coldly and Jessica was shocked.
"You don't want to marry my brother? I can't believe that there's a woman who doesn't want to marry him." she said this and closed her mouth with her hand. I seemed like she was shocked.
"Why should I marry a random guy or I've never met before?" I asked Jess.
"You've never seen my brother?" I shook my head which meant 'no' to her.
"Do you know that my brother is so handsome and no woman can reject him?" she asked.
"I don't look for a handsome guy. Sorry that I disappoint you." I chuckled.
"Alright, whatever! My brother doesn't want to get married too so it's easy for you guys to escape this matter." she said.
"I see. By the way, which mall are you going?" I asked her.
She looked at me and hesitated to say something. I felt her glare so I asked her. "What do you want to say? You can tell me."
"Sister, I don't plan to go to anywhere. Please don't get mad at me." she said apologetically.
"Stupid girl, why should I get mad at you? But why do you want to come here with me?" I asked her while focusing on my driving.
"I just wanted to talk to you. You seemed like you don't want to see my brother when we were having lunch that's why I'm here to ask you why." she said honestly.
"Alright, now you know why I don't want to see your brother. So where do you want to go?" I asked her.
"I don't know." she laid on to the car seat and looked at the road.
"Do you want me to bring you back home?" I suggested her.
"No! My parents will be suspicious."
"Your dad won't be home, I guess." I told her.
"I still don't want to go home." she hugged her arms.
"Then, where are you going?" I asked her.
"Can I go to work with you?" she asked. I turned around to look at her and saw her puppy eyes so I turned back to the road.
"Jess, I worked at the hospital. You should know that hospital is not a fun place." I said seriously.
"But I still want to go. Can you just bring me with you?" she kept begging me until I had no choice but to bring her with me.
"We're here now." I announced Jessica when we arrived. I stopped the car and left.
"Let's go to my office." I told her.
"Ok!"
She followed me to my office. I told her to sit in the office. I was afraid that she was bored in my office so I suggested her to go out and walk around.
"Jess, you can go out and walk around. It's very refreshing outside." I suggested.
"Really?" she exclaimed.
"Don't you believe me? I'm going to work now. I don't you to stay here. It's boring." I told her honestly.
"You're kind of straightforward, Am. I like it." she chuckled.
