"I'm here." that guy said excitedly. That guy was Kevin Hail, one of my bestfriends.
"What took you so long?" I asked.
"Traffic" Kevin answered dryly.
He sat on the sofa next to me and said "Instead of greeting me with 'Hello' or 'How are you?' You asked me such a question." He rolled his eyes.
"That's his style. Don't you know about that, Kevin?" Miles smirked.
"I'm speechless with this guy." Kevin said.
"So, you guys asked me here just to attack me?" I questioned the two of them.
"I'm here to have fun." Miles smiled.
"Is Chris coming?" I asked.
"He can't come tonight." Kevin said.
"What's wrong with him?" I asked.
"I know that he's busy, but I don't know what he's busy with." Kevin said.
""Busy with a girl, I guess." Miles added.
"What? This is new to me." I was shocked.
"You always busy with your work how can you mind other people's businesses?" Miles shrugged.
"That dude is in love." Kevin laughed.
"That is so rare and so weird." I laughed.
"Chris has no experience with woman and I guess right now he's having some problems." said Miles.
"I think we should celebrate since that single a*s is in love." I said.
"He's not coming." Kevin made a sad face.
"I told you that he has a problem with that woman and can't come." Miles said.
"Problem? Why would he has problem with a woman?" I asked curiously.
"The thing is he loves that girl, but ......" Miles stopped talking which irritated me a little.
"Continue" I said coldly.
"That woman keeps ignoring him and now he has to find a solution to make that woman his." he chuckled.
"So, our Chris has a problem with a woman?" Kevin also laughed.
"That's not funny." I said.
"Right" a familiar voice came from the door which made everyone in the room turned around and checked.
I turned around and saw Chris Brewster looked at us coldly.
"Chris!" I called out his name and said "You actually come?"
"You see that I'm here right? Why would you ask such a question?" he said coldly.
"I see that you're not in a good mood." I said and turned to look at the other two faces.
"Absolutely" Kevin and Miles said simultaneously.
"If I'm not here, I wouldn't know that my friends talk shits behind my back." Chris acted angry.
"Who talked shits about you?" Miles said.
"You guys! I heard it with my two ears." he said.
"Miles, I think we're talking about facts the whole time." Kevin tried to tease Chris and looked at Miles' face when he talked.
"You two better stop." I said to Kevin and Miles.
"Ok, I just want to ....." Miles was interrupted by Chris.
"Hand me that bottle." Chris said.
Kevin passed the bottle of wine to Chris. He pulled the red wine out of the bottle into his glass like it's water.
"Chris, that's wine." Kevin reminded Chris.
"You think I lost my mind and can't tell what is water and what is wine." Chris said angrily.
Everyone in the room stayed silent and only Chris was drinking. The three of us looked at Chris almost forgot to blink.
"Chris, what's wrong with you?" I asked him.
"Why don't you guys drink?" Chris asked everyone.
"Ah yeah drink." Miles picked up his glass and signal Kevin and I to drink too.
"Now answer my question." I said seriously.
Chris slowly looked up until our eyes met. He said "Eric, ....."
"Talk"
"I'm in love with a woman." Chris said sadly.
"I just found out about that a few minutes ago." I chuckled.
"But I don't think that woman love me." Chris said sadly and everyone could see the tears in his eyes.
"How do you know that she doesn't love you? She might have a little feeling for you." I said.
"She keeps ignoring me." Chris said.
"Chris, go and confess her." Kevin said.
"I'm scared." Chris said which shocked everyone in the room.
"Chris, you don't look like someone who give up so easily. What's wrong with you now?" Miles surprised.
"This is not a business deal. If only this is a business deal or some kind of contrast signing agreement, it would be much easier for me." Chris made a sad face once again.
"I'm curious. Who's that woman?" I asked.
"You guys don't know her." Chris replied.
"Tell me who is she? She dares to make the very confident Chris turn into a coward." Miles said. Chris stared coldly at Miles.
"Actually, Eric, you might know her." Chris said.
"Who's she?" I asked.
"Olivia Watson" Chris said.
"Olivia Watson?" I thought who that Olivia Watson is.
"Yes. Olivia Watson."
"I don't know lemme think first. This sounds so familiar. I used to hear this name somewhere." She's an event planner. Your company hired her to prepare some of your big events." Chris told me.
"Ahhh I remember. Nathan invited her to plan our events, but I never get to meet her." I told Chris.
"You should ask her out or ask her to have dinner or lunch or whatever it is with us. So that we know her." Kevin suggested.
"I don't have any chance." Chris looked sad again. He turned his head down after saying that.
"You're such a loser when it comes to love." I said.
"Eric, did you just say that Chris is a loser when it comes to love? How about you?" Kevin tried to defend Chris.
"Don't you dare mention it." I warned Kevin.
"You should open your heart once again, Eric." Miles suggested.
"Who are you to talk about my heart?" I said coldly and I didn't want them to talk about it.
"Your bestfriend!" Miles said with his teasing voice.
I ignored my friends. I ate the food on the table and enjoy my wine.
"What should I do to that woman? Please give me an idea." Chris looked at Kevin and Miles.
"Go and confess. It's the most effective and it's also the dumbest way." Kevin said.
"How do you know her? Are you close enough with her?" Miles asked.
"I worked with her for a few times and we met kind of a lot. She's interesting and attractive in the way that I like." Chris said with his dreamy eyes.
"Oh my god! Chris!" Kevin exclaimed. "What happened to my friend, Chris? Who are you?" Kevin said which made Miles laughed so hard.
"You guys!" Chris pointed his finger at Kevin and Miles and he sighed.
"That's what happened when a nerd is in love." Miles teased Chris.
"Try to get closer to her, Chris." I finally said something.
The three of them looked at me shockingly.
"What?!" I asked.
"You finally talk and you actually give Chris an advice about love. Really? What's wrong with these two, Kevin?" said Miles.
"Shut up, Miles. You keep irritate me today." I said.
"Ok, I'm going to stop." Miles said obediently.
"By the way, don't go and confess her just like Kevin said. Get close to her first and when you feel confident enough then confess her or ask her to be your girlfriend or whatever you want." I advise him seriously.
