LAST KISS
CHAPTER TWO
Primo's Point of View
I just found myself telling it to her. “I-It was my mother’s gift when I turned 17, that was 3 years ago. That's why I cried hard. “Oh, I’m so sorry,”I just smiled, Wryly, kahit hindi niya naman iyon makikita dahil dahil nakasuot ako ng black na face mask.
“What's your name?” she asked, cheerfully, trying to lighten up the mood. “I-I'm P-Primo... Primo Aze Javier” I said. “Woah, You have a nice and cool name,” she said, full with enthusiasm. “By the way, I'm Carol... Carolyn Candova,”She stated and offered a handshake.
“I understand, By the way, uuwi na ako, thanks for spending your time with me,”I said and bid goodbye. But before I could even take a step ay agad akong pinigilan ni Carol. She held my hand at bahagya iyong hinila. “Stay... Please,” She begged at nagbaba nang tingin. “Please?” Ulit pa nito gamit ang maliit at malumanay na boses.
I don’t know what’s gotten into me pero bigla niya akong napasunod.
“Nah, It’s okay, I understand. Nasanay na rin kasi ako,”I said, honestly and wryly. “Huh? That’s not what I mean, naman kasi eh. I am sorry if I made you feel bad, but that is really not my intention to act that way, I promise. Please believe me. It’s just that... Uhm... Ano kasi—”
“What?”
“Nagulat lang kasi ako... Yeah, Tama...”
Just spill it , Carol, Sanay na ako diyan,” I said and looked away. “Oh, bakit ngayon parang galit ka?”Tanong ko pa dito.“Kasi naman eh, Why do you keep on insisting that you're ugly? Hindi ka naman pangit ah—”
“Yes, I am! And please stop sugar-coating it, Alam ko na naman na pangit ako—”
“You’re not ugly, Okay, You're not,”giit pa nito. Halata kasing hindi magpapatalo itong isang ito. “Uhm, Would you mind if pwude ko tingnan yung glasses mo?” she asked, carefully. I just nodded at kinuha ‘yong mga piraso ng Glasses ko.
“Oh my Gosh,” She exclaimed. “Did Brandon do these?”She asked. I simply nodded and wipe my tears away.
“Uhm, Can I ask you a favor?”Tanong ulit nito. “What is it?”Balik tanong ko dito. “C-Can you... Uhm... Can you take off your mask?” She asked, hesitantly.
Lip Balm. Inayos din nito ang buhok ko.
“There, So handsome,"
My heart skipped a beat and everything went slow motion. I snapped out of my thoughts when my phone sunddenly rang.
When I looked at the caller I.D. I can’t clearly see it, because I am not wearing my glasses and with that, I have to ask Carol kung sino yung tumatawag. “Uhm, Excuse me, Carol, But can you tell me who’s the caller? “Oh, Of course, No problem. The caller I.D. says ‘Kuya Jazee’,”Tumango naman ako at bahagyang nag-bow at dahan-dahang tumayo to answer the call. “Hello, Kuya? Good morning, Napatawag ka?” I greeted politely. “Walang Good sa Morning, Primo Aze Javier!”It wasn’t kuya Jazee who answered but his twin sister, Ate Hazel. “A-Ate?”nauutal ko pang saad. “Your Professor just called me a while ago that you didn’t attend to your classes, Primo! Where are you? Bakit hindi ka pumasok? Don’t tell me you know how to cut classes know? ‘Yan ba ang itinuro namin sa‘yo, Primo, Ha?”I knew it! May nag-momonitor talaga sa akin sa Class. They still treat me like a baby brother though I am already a Second Year College.
“Can you lower your voice, Sis? It’s very loud and irritating, please,”Rinig ko pang sabi ni Kuya. We all know that Kuya Jazee hates loud noises.
“Tse! Ikaw ang tumahimik d’yaan at magmaneho ka nalang, Mind your own business,”And now they’re fighting. Tss.
“So, Are you two just gonna fight there?”I asked sarcastically. “Ermm, I’m sorry, Ito kasing si Jazee eh, Pakialamero. So, Back to the topic, Where are you right now, Primo Aze?”Ate sternly asked. “Ahh... I’m at... Uhm, I’m at the library, right, I’m here at the library,”Yeah, I know that was the lamest lie.
“Don’t you dare lie to me, Primo Aze Javier! Hindi niya naman kami sinasaktan at never niya rin kaming sinaktan, it’s just that his stares are so deadly at hindi namin alam kung anong tumatakbo sa isip ni Dad. We’re all close to dad, basta ay huwag mo lang siyang punuin.
