"Now, now everyone. This has gone a bit far. Jenna, of course, Brian, Zade and Gus are welcome to stay here until we get the final approval from the Alpha and the Luna when they return. I promise that no one else will have anything else rude to say. Isn't that right Chrissy", he asked her. Chrissy nodded and apologized again. This time with a lot more sincerity behind it. "Well shall we head back to the pack house now" Chrissy asked as the warriors started opening the doors. Beta Cameron turned to Nathan. "Why don't the five of you take the SUV, your mother and I will take the car. I would like to speak with her alone for the ride" he said as he led Chrissy to the car before she had a chance to say anything. The warrior holding my door was trying to suppress a laugh as he looked at me and whispered "Way to go Mam. I've been waiting for that to happen" as I got into the SUV.
"I'm sorry about the way my mom acted. She can be so outspoken. It's like her brain refuses to tell her to shut up at times", Nathan explained as he made excuses for his mother. "Well, I am serious Nathan on where I stand about this. If they are not welcome, then neither am I." I made sure to tell him once again. Zade, Gus and Brian kept quiet and let me handle the situation. I knew if it was their choice we would already be on the way back home by now. Nathan smiled at me and took my hand, making me forget how angry I was just five minutes ago. "I promise you Jenna, everyone will accept all four of you as a packaged deal. There will not be any other issues", he promised as he kissed my cheek.
The vehicles began to slow down."We are here. We just have to get through security here at the gate, then we will be escorted in by a team of warriors flanking both sides of us", Nathan explained. I watched as men shifted into wolves. Some emerged from the tree lines along with bears and panthers. I gasped along with Zade, Gus and Brian. "Dude, is that what I think it is" Brian almost shouted. Nathan laughed. "I told you guys that we have the world's largest pack. It consists of every supernatural type there is. You will see witches and warlocks, panthers, bears, tigers, foxes. You also may see a demon or two, so don't panic", Nathan warned. He smiled down at me. "Welcome home Jenna."
When the car came to a stop, a mass crowd had gathered around. The wolves were pushing them back to make a clear path for us to get out. As they got the members back, a warrior came and opened the door for them. I could see that Beta Cameron and Chrissy were already out and making an announcement to the crowd. "They are telling them to calm down, and they will all get to meet you at the ceremony", Nathan informed them. "What ceremony?" I asked. I hadn't been told about a ceremony. "Umm the mating ceremony and the pack acceptance", Nathan reminded me. "Great", I thought. I hate things like that.
As we stepped out of the vehicle, the crowd exploded in applause and cheers. I know my face was fifty shades of red from blushing. Girls were yelling at Zade, Brian and Gus. I half expected Star to get jealous and start growling, but instead she was acting very strange, almost whimpering. "Star, are you OK?" I asked her. I didn't get a response. I could feel her without a problem. It was like she was almost panicking. "Star, are you ok?" I asked her again, trying to get an answer from her. It was almost like she was frantically searching for something. Like she was lost and couldn't find her way back to me. I began to panic myself, as we walked inside the massive mansion Nathan called a pack house. I could feel my chest getting heavier, and it was getting harder and harder to breathe, the more my wolf panicked. "CALM DOWN STAR PLEASE" I begged. Zade, Brian and Gus were by my side in seconds, scooping me up and placing me in a chair. "Jenna, are you ok" Zade asked, but I couldn't answer. My chest felt so heavy, and I couldn't breathe. "STAR STOP THIS!'" I yelled at her, trying to control her, so I could catch my own breath. Dots started in front of my eyes and I knew I was about to pass out as my head began to swarm. "Star...." then nothing but blackness.
