After the X-rays, I was taken back to my room and placed back in bed. Nathan sat by my bedside on one side and Zade, Gus and Brian sat on the other. It had been a long night, and I was getting very sleepy. "Ok you four, Jenna needs to get some rest. I'm going to ask you all to go on to the pack house and get some rest" The nurse told them. Once again Zade growled, refusing to leave my side, and so was Nathan. Seeing them two refuse, the other two refused to leave as well. Aggrevated by their refusal, the nurse huffed and turned and walked out of the room. Gus and Brian began to laugh. "It's not that easy to get rid of us", Gus said as he propped his feet up on my bed and laid back in his chair closing his eyes. Brian threw him a blanket, while grabbing three more while he was up. He handed each of the others a blanket before copying Gus. ZADE and Nathan followed suit. I chuckled, looking at the four with their feet propped up around me half asleep already. I closed my eyes to get some sleep myself.
When I woke up, I found myself in what appeared to be a fairy tale. There was a large palace with warriors all around. There was a huge celebration about to happen. I saw a warrior coming closer to me. "Excuse me sir, but what is the celebration for?" I asked, as he was smiling and happy. "For the lost Princess, she has finally returned" He answered, going about his duties cheerfully. I smiled to myself as I realized I was having a dream instead of a nightmare that I normally had every night. "HAIL PRINCESS DREAM" the crowd began to shout as I saw the Royal Army making its way through the crowd with what appeared to be the Royal family behind them. Wolves flanked the entire family, making it almost impossible for me to see them. When the family reached the front and stepped onto the stage, everyone bowed to them. I gasped as I saw the lost Princess Dream. It was me standing up on the stage.
I woke up to the beeping of an alarm and Dr. Henry checking the machine. "It's OK, your heart rate just jumped up some, but it is coming back down now", he explained. I looked around. "Where is Nathan", I asked, noticing he was no longer in the room. "He stepped out to speak to the Beta for a moment. He will be back in just a moment. Are you ready to eat some breakfast" Dr Henry asked cheerfully. My stomach growled at the thought of food. I was starving. "Did someone say breakfast", Gus asked, waking up. I laughed. Leave it to him to wake up at the mere mention of food. "Yes sir. I could definitely eat" I told him. "How were the test? Is Star OK?" I asked the doctor. "I would be better with a plate of bacon and sausage in front of me instead of these clowns' feet" Star answered grumpy. ""Hey guys, feet off of the bed per Star's request." I answered smiling and now cheerful that I had my grumpy wolf back. "I'm not grumpy" Star answered back. "Oh you are in so much trouble mam. You forced the shift on me and sent me in here for an entire night" I said, scolding my wolf. "I'm sorry. I don't know what it was, but trust me, I learned my lesson. They shot me with enough tranquilizers to kill an elephant", Star complained. "Well, from what I heard, you are as big as one" I told her, laughing. "Seriously, don't scare me like that. I have been worried about you all night", I told her before I was interrupted by a nurse asking me something. Star let out a growl at the nurse. "That's the one that stuck me the third time" Star shouted in my mind. "I'm sorry. I have a very crabby hung over wolf who holds grudges against the ones that stick her with tranquilizers." I told the nurse, looking at her. She looked up scared to death as she, about broke her neck getting out of the room. "Was it something I said" I asked, as I could hear Star laughing like crazy in the back of my mind. Nathan just shook his head. "I'll have the cooks bring you over some breakfast since you have frightened the nurse from ever stepping foot in this room again". Star continued to laugh. "That's what she gets for sticking me with that needle" Star shouted as she laughed some more. Her pleasant mood cheered me up instantly.
After breakfast, Dr. Henry came in. He asked everyone in the room to leave as there was something he wished to speak to me about alone. I looked up at the doctor with worry written all over my face. He waited until everyone was gone before turning back to face me. "What is wrong, Dr. Henry", I asked as soon as the door shut. "I have received some of your test results back, and I needed to sit down and discuss them with you. First, your silver level is zero, which is absolutely remarkable considering all of your scars. Matter of fact, every level we have done on you including the x-rays have all come back perfect. I cannot even find evidence of any fractures or anything." He informed her. I looked at him curious. "Ok if that was the case, then why did everyone have to leave for you to give me a good report," I asked, wondering. ""Because of the fact that after these test results, I know for a fact that you are indeed a gifted wolf. I am also concerned that the reason your wolf is acting the way she is, is the fact that you are also receiving new powers since you have just turned eighteen, and you have found your mate. Generally speaking, that is when a gifted wolf usually receives all the powers they are going to receive. What I am saying is, as your wolf becomes stronger and more powerful, the more chances it is going to be that you will lose control of her. For this reason, I have to notify Beta Cameron of the potential problem" He explained. I sat there staring at him, not totally understanding what he was saying. How could I be a gifted wolf? There was nothing special about me. My parents abandoned me. "I am still waiting on the DNA analysis to come back. I will not be surprised if you are in fact of high rank. But until we have those results back we will have to keep a close eye on you and be notified at once if your wolf starts acting strangely." "Are you telling me I have to stay in the hospital?' I asked. If this was the case, I would be leaving at once to go back to my pack. There was no way I would be caged like an animal if I had done nothing wrong. "No, no dear. Not at all. This is another reason I need to let the Beta know. He can help me keep a close watch on you for any abrupt changes in behavior", he explained, easing my stress a little. "See what you got us Into, Star?' I asked my wolf, upset. "I'm sorry" She said as she retreated to the back of my mind whimpering because I was mad. There was a knock on the door. As I looked up, Beta Cameron came walking in. "Hey there. Are you OK Jenna," He asked, worried. "Yeah, I guess. Just a bit confused" I answered honestly. "Well hopefully, we will have some answers quickly. I have requested a rush in the DNA." Dr Henry informed us both. "What about Nathan? Does he know?" I asked. The Beta shook his head no. "The less that know about this, the better and safer you are. Gifted wolves are generally hunted as soon as the news gets out. I don't like it anymore than you do, keeping this from my son, but until we know more it will keep the both of you safer" Beta Cameron explained. I just wanted to cry at that moment. "Are we still on to proceed with the ceremony Dr. Henry?' The Beta asked. "I don't see why not," the doctor answered. The Beta turned to me. "Are you still up for it, Jenna? I know a lot has happened but the sooner that things become normal the fewer questions will be asked, and the fewer rumors will spread" I just nodded, agreeing with whatever they wanted. "OK, I'll have Chrissy set everything up for tonight. Other than that, Dr. Henry, can Jenna be discharged now!' Beta Cameron asked, looking at me and smiling softly. "She surely can. Jenna dear, you are free to leave. But please remember to notify either myself or the Beta at once if there are any changes with your wolf" "Yes sir" I answered as I waited for them to leave, so I could change and get out of here.
