"Jenna, I need to get some information from you in order to try to figure out what happened to your wolf. Now Beta Cameron has filled me in on a few things. For instance, all of your scars and how you acquired them. I need to know if you know anything about your parents or your family", He asked as he stared at me. A large knot formed in my throat, making it hard to swallow. "I don't know anything about them. The Luna rescued me when I was only a few hours old. I had been abandoned and rogues were trying to kill me", I answered honestly. The doctor looked at me strangely. "What do you mean Rogues were trying to kill you?' He asked puzzled. I looked at him just as confused. "The reason I ask is that there has never been a case where rogues killed an infant. Especially a newborn. Even they up hold that law. They would have either left you where you were or would have taken you to raise themselves." He explained. This made me even more confused. "I'm not sure what to say, doctor. That is all I was ever told by the Luna." I answered. "I see. Well, let me ask you this, do you have problems with controlling your wolf? Does she submit to everyone like she should? Does she normally do what you tell her?" Now this was the question that was probably going to get me into trouble and I knew it. But I had to do what I had to do if it meant making sure that Star was OK. I hesitated before I answered. "No sir. She never submitted to anyone other than me. If we were going to be ordered to do something, she would comply because I made her. Not on orders alone" It felt like I had just ratted on my best friend. Concern was written all over the doctor's face. "Do you have trouble controlling her", he asked as he studied my response. I nodded yes. "At times. She can be very hard-headed" I answered. The doctor laughed. "I see. Well, they all can be at times" His laughing made me relax a little. He smiled at me. "Jenna, do you know if you or your wolf is gifted? Has any sort of special powers." "No sir. Not that I know of. Like I said, I had never shifted before so I hadn't even seen my wolf yet" I answered honestly. "OK. Let's try this then. Did your wolf say anything to you that concerned you before you came here". I thought for a moment and then Star's words raced through my mind. "She kept saying that there was about to be a change. A big one. We had to be ready. I thought she was talking about things changing because I had found my mate, and we were leaving Revenge Hills. We were getting away from the Luna. But she kept insisting something else was about to change." I told him. "But she didn't elaborate or tell you anything else about what change to expect or how you were to get ready for the change " Dr Henry asked. "No sir. She just paced and was anxious. I thought it was because of the plane ride. When she did calm down, I didn't hear anything from her until we walked inside the pack house, and she went crazy." I answered. "Is she OK Dr Henry" I asked concerned about my wolf. "Well, I want to keep you here overnight to keep a check on you and to make sure that she comes around ok. She took in a lot of sedatives. Matter of fact I'm not sure how you are awake yourself right now. You should be knocked out with her as well." He said as he began to listen to my heart beat and lungs. "Well, she generally heals me before herself. I have never had to stay overnight at the hospital before, even when I actually died from my injuries like this morning", I explained as I raised my shirt up, exposing the areas that had been ripped open by the whip earlier. "Wait are you telling me that the wounds that Beta Cameron told me about happened today? This morning? And that you actually died before they brought you back?" He asked as he searched my body for open wounds. "Yes. Isn't that how things normally go? Our wolves heal our human bodies. Right?' I asked, making sure that I hadn't misunderstood anything. "Not that fast. Not with wounds from silver laced whips"- he answered. I could see that he was racking his brain and that there was something troubling him about what I had just said. "Is there something wrong, Dr. Henry? Should I be worried about my wolf?" I asked, wanting to know the truth. Dr. Henry looked at me. It was like he was looking me over to see what it was that he was missing. "Jenna to be honest with you, I'm not exactly sure what to say about your wolf at this moment. She definitely does not behave like a typical Omega wolf. Her size alone is nowhere typical of a normal wolf. She is just as big as our Alpha and Luna's wolf. And if, in fact, she is healing you as quickly as you say, then I'm not sure how, unless, of course, if you are a gifted wolf. But I will say for an Omega to be gifted is very unlikely. I would like to get some blood from you to run some panels. I also would like to check your silver level with the lashes that you received over time. I also would like to run a DNA analysis on you. Something is telling me that there is a lot more to your wolf than what we know". I didn't know what to say at that moment. I just nodded agreeing with whatever needed to be done in order to make sure that Star would be OK. "How long before we know if Star will be ok" I asked him, worried. "We will have some of the results back almost immediately. I am also sending you upstairs for a full body scan to look for any old fractures or new ones for that matter. The DNA analysis will take some time to get back. One more question for you, Jenna. Your wolf had a star on her forehead, do you have any marks on you" he asked as he searched me over again.
