Chapter 4

(Rose)

I wake up to the door opening. I open my eyes to see Ash walking in with a tray of food. He smiles at me when he sees that I am awake. He walks over and sets the tray on the nightstand.

"How are you feeling?" He asks as he helps me sit up.

"I am okay," I tell him, while leaning up for a kiss.

He leans down and kisses me softly.

"I figured you must be tired. So I brought us up some lunch." He tells me as he reaches over to grab the tray from the nightstand. He places the tray on my lap and takes the lid off the food.

"Thank you so much. I just feel like everything makes me feel extremely tired any more." I tell him, as I pick up my sandwich.

"Well you are getting close to your due date and you are growing two babies right now. You and your body need a lot of rest." Ash says picking up his sandwich.

We eat in silence. As I am finishing up I feel Lilly start to stir within my mind.

"Everything okay?" I ask her.

"Yeah, I think so. I just feel a little off is all." Lilly tells me.

"Is everything okay right now with the kingdom?" I ask Ash.

"Yep, why?" He asks.

"Lilly said she feels off. So I wanted to make sure." I explain to him.

"The borders are protected by palace guards and vampires. Maggy and her clan have started to make their own magical barrier. So the kingdom is well protected right now." Ash tells me.

"So we are protected from any outside dangers. Is everyone in the kingdom doing okay?" I ask. As I move the tray off my lap.

"Everyone is accounted for. All of our people are safe and happy. All are ready to celebrate you and the babies today.

I smile at him as he picks up the tray and moves it over to the nightstand again. He stands up and leans down to kiss me before he helps me up and out of the bed.

"Does a luna ceremony make any sense? I have already taken care of most of what was required of me. And your mother is still here to help me with anything that I might need." I ask him as I get up.

He smiles down at me and places his hand on my baby bump.

"We need the ceremony so that you can have a link with all members of the kingdom. It is a way to make the kingdom feel more comfortable reaching out to you. Members already love and respect you as their Luna. So it is just the formality of it." Ash tells me.

"I can already link with all the members in the kingdom, they just don't know it." I mutter under my breath.

I hear him chuckle and look up at him.

"Yes love, you can. But they may think it odd as you have not created the major link with all the members." Ash explains to me.

"Our mothers will be here any moment now. Are you ready for them?" Ash asks me after I have been silent for a little while.

"They are already here. They have been outside the door pacing." I explain to him as I walk over and open the door with a smile.

"Hello," they both say as they walk into the room.

"Hello, I am on my way out now. Enjoy your time together." Ash says leaning down to give me a kiss before he walks out the door.

I walk back to my mother and Ash's mom, Luna Mary. She is no longer the queen and no longer going to be a luna. What will her title be? I think as I walk over to them.

"Umm, Mary, what will I call you after the Luna ceremony? You are no longer the queen and you will not be the luna." I ask as I sit down at my dressing table where they have all laid out the make up and hair products they plan to use.

"Well you can call me Mary, mom, or grandma. But my title will be changed to Luna Mother. This way I can stay in the palace with you and the grandbabies. And this way the people of the kingdom will still be able to come to me if they are in need of help or if you are in need of anything." Mary explains to me as she starts to brush my hair.

The three of us make small talk the rest of the time as they do my hair and make-up.

As soon as they are finished, it is time to go downstairs and greet the guests.

I quickly put on my dress and smile at myself in the mirror.

"We look amazing," Lilly says to me.

"Yes we do," I tell her as I thank our mothers.

"Okay well let's get you down stairs to your mate. I am sure he is waiting un-patiently," Mary tells me with a smile.

"You are correct, he has been trying to link with me and I have been telling him to wait." I say with a laugh.

"Well my dear, today you become officially the Luna of the kingdom. And we get to shower you with gifts for the babies." My mother tells me.

"I thank you both so much for all that you have done for me. It has not been easy, but we are getting through it all." I tell the two of them with a smile as we walk out the door.

"You have done more for all of us than you realize. And today you are becoming who you really are. Today a Royal takes their place leading the kingdom. It's an accomplishment unlike any other. It has been years, and even though people don't know it yet. You will do many great things for all of us." Mary tells me.
