ISABELLA P.O.V
A frown spread across my face as I walked into the large hall with my hands bound with the long chains. Alpha Klaus was sitting on his chiefly seat but I didn't look him in the eyes, at least not after all I had heard last night and what I saw this morning.
How is it possible, how can Alpha Klaus be the father of my mate? I thought to myself. None of it made any sense. An Alpha's son was supposed to take over his father's pack when his father is gone so how can they have separate packs and how did I not know anything about it until now? My thoughts were driving me crazy and the worst part was that Maria was no longer alive to tell me the details of what happened.
What was I supposed to tell Derek when I didn’t get to hear all she had to say? How did she know that me and Derek were having an issue and why would she tell me to forgive a man that is trying to kill me?
"Isabella," Alpha Klaus called me out of my thoughts and I fastened my eyes on him. "Have you thought about my offer and what is your answer?" he asked and I stared at him despicably. What kind of father will desire to have his son's wife as his own? I thought, tempted to tell him how selfish he was but considering Maria's last warning before her death I restrained myself.
"I accept the offer, I will get married to you." I forced those words from my lips and he frowned at me.
"Why do I have a feeling that you have ulterior motives?" he asked and lifted the chains around my wrist to his face.
"Why will I say no when the life of my child is in danger?" I asked. "I will do anything to ensure that my son remains safe even if it means getting married to a monster like you, after all my mate threw me out of the pack and I have no other place to find safety. Either way you still lose Alpha Klaus." I replied spitefully and he burst out laughter as did the rest of his pack which were also present.
"This is the reason I love you Isabella, you are more smart than the others," he said and then approached me as he rubbed his hand on the side of my face. "I will lavish my treasures on you and in a matter of time you will learn to love me. Just ask me anything you want, my love and it's yours." He said, staring at me affectionately.
"All I want is to know that my child is safe and I will also like to have a personal servant." I replied and he turned to the two huge beta werewolves.
"You heard your Luna, bring out all the savants and let her make her choice, and also bring the boy to me immediately," he ordered and they hastened out of the hall, it was only a matter of minutes when my sons voice shattered the silence and I turned to see him running towards me.
"Benjamin," I called as I received him in my arms and we broke down in tears.
"Mom, I don't like it here, I want to leave," he cried out.
"It's alright Benjamin, everything will be fine I promise," I said and while sobbing they took him away from me. "Benjamin," I tried to hold him but two beta werewolves stopped me while another werewolf held him back from reaching out to me.
"You have seen your son and if you behave yourself you will get to see him more often. Now, pick a servant for yourself," Klaus said to me and those words sent a wave of bitterness through my gut and I turned to face him. If only he knew how painful it was to watch your child without being able to hold him, if only he knew how much it hurts he will never utter those words.
This is the moment any mother will die for, just to have one more hold of their son and feel his warmth and ensure that they are safe in her arms.
"Isabella, I am waiting for you to choose," Klaus broke the silence again and I brushed the tears off my eyes and then looked at the savants.
"I need a young servant who is between the age of seventeen and eighteen years old, if you are, step out please," I said and two of the savant stepped forward. "What are your names?" I asked.
"My name is Jacob, and I am eighteen years old and this Mason, he is seventeen," one of the savants introduced and I looked at the two young men who were both fair and physically fit.
"Can I keep both of them?" I asked.
"Sure, you can," he replied with a smile on his face and afterwards he sent the others away. "Get prepared because as early as sunrise tomorrow morning we will begin our preparation for the marriage ceremony."
Later that evening Alpha Klaus held a large party to celebrate me joining his pack and also our marriage which was scheduled to hold a day after tomorrow, and while the party was ongoing he showed me around the pack and also introduced me to the other Luna's and the children he had with them but none of this concerned me, all I wanted was to escape this damn place with my child.
It took a while but as the party was coming to an end Klaus arranged dinner at a large dining table for his ten wives as he also added an additional chair for me and himself.
"So Isabella, what do you think about my estate?" he asked during the meal.
"It's a fine place," I replied as I flashed a smile at him and then glanced back at the meal. I noticed a few of the Luna's staring at me angrily but I avoided eye contact.
"Why are you acting like you are okay with this when we both know that you are not," one of the females spoke up and I looked her in the eyes only to see a burning hatred for me. "It's obvious that you are devising something mischievous so why not spit it out," she said again releasing her venomous words at me.
"Enough Elisabeth! You will not speak to her like that," Klaus exclaimed as the place became ice cold. The hush persisted for a while and when I was about digging into the meal she spoke up again.
"Just enjoy it for now but I promise you that it won't last long…"
"Elisabeth, i said be quiet!" Klaus banged his hand on the table and I immediately dropped the fork and then stood up on my feet.
"I'm sorry but I think I should head to my room now," I said and after another glance at their faces I left for my apartment. I was fast asleep in the middle of the night when I heard a bang on the door of my apartment and I woke up gently making my way to the door post.
"Who is here?" I asked.
"It's me, Jacob, open up," he said and I swiftly unlocked the door only to see him walk inside with a lady wearing a hood cap over her head. "Jacob, what are you doing here by this time of the night and who is this?" I asked and the lady took off the hood cap only for me to see that it was Elisabeth, one of Alpha Klaus's wives.
"I know what you are thinking but your life is in danger and you have to leave," Elisabeth said earnestly and I removed my gaze from her to Jacob.
"Is this a prank or what?" I asked.
"Isabella it's okay, you can trust her," Jacob interrupted and Elisabeth held my hands with piercing sadness in her eyes.
"I know that the reason you chose Jacob as your servant was because Maria spoke to you and I didn't offend you at the dining table because I hate you but because I was trying to save you. Klaus drugged your food, he did the same thing to each one of us when he seized us from our pack and he was going to do the same thing to you if I had not made you leave the table," she explained. "Klaus is much smarter than you think, and I am sure that by now he must have figured out your plan, which is why I am here to warn you that whatever you are doing, you must act fast before it's too late."
"What do you mean by saying before it's too late?" I asked.
"Once you get married to Alpha Klaus there is no going back, and trust me, if we had a choice we would have fled this pack a long time ago but we can't. You still have the chance to escape so all I am asking is that you use it," she explained.
"What about my son?" I asked.
"Mason is on his way to get Benjamin, they will meet us by the waterfall at the back of the estate," Jason replied and I looked Elisabeth in the eyes again only to see the same sadness I saw in Maria's eyes before her death. "Isabella, we must leave now," he said.
