ISABELLA P.O.V
My name is Isabella Wells. I am supposed to be Luna of my pack but my mate Alpha Derek betrayed me. He was cheating on me with another beta and also had intentions to kill me and my son, if I had not escaped from my pack. I am taken captive by another powerful alpha who turns out to be the father of my mate. He is obsessed with me and wants me as his Luna, and I would have accepted his proposal if I had not met with Elisabeth, one of his concubines who warned me of the dangers of accepting to be his mate.
A frown spread across my face as soon as I arrived at the waterfall at the back of the blood moon pack. We were supposed to meet Mason and my son Benjamin here but all I can see is an empty boat.
“Where are they?” I looked back at Jacob who also seemed confused. “You said that they will be here, so where is my son?” I asked as tears formed in my eyes.
“Isabella, don't panic. I trust Mason and I am sure he will arrive soon,” he assured me. But even now I could see the fear lurking in his eyes.
My heart squeezed in gut wrenching pain at the thought that Alpha Klaus might have caught up with them. If anything happened to Benjamin I will never forgive myself. I thought while pacing around restlessly, and after a minute an alarming noise erupted in the mansion.
“Find Isabella, find her and bring her to me.” I recognised Alpha Klaus's voice amidst the noise. His voice held a weight that terrified me.
“Benjamin,” I whispered in shock and Jacob turned to face me.
“Isabella we must leave now,” he reached his hand to hold me but I pushed him away.
“No,” I said as the tears I was holding back left my eyes. “I am not leaving without my son.” I looked back at the mansion expecting to see him but there was still no sign of them anywhere.
“They are not coming,” Jacob said but I refused.
“You said they will be here, so I will wait,” I persisted, wiping the tears off my eyes. I looked at the mansion again and I saw alpha Klaus walk out through the back door. He was holding Benjamin in his arms, and a company of his betas were behind him.
“Mom,” Benjamin cried out. His voice drove a spear through my chest. I leaped to go after him but Jacob held me back, wrapping his hand around my body.
“Let me go,” I wailed in pain as I watched him struggle helplessly in Alpha Klaus’s large arms, but I could not do anything. Tears kept dripping down my eyes as my son suffered.
“Isabella Wells, you cannot escape me,” Klaus said aloud. His eyebrows tilted as a creepy smile played on his lips. “You promised to be my mate and you will keep your promise, so come back to me.”
“Don’t listen to him,” Mason yelled from his side and one of the betas slapped him. They pinned him on his knees, and Klaus looked at me again. But this time he looked furious.
“You can do better than this Isabella. Just come back and I will forget that any of this ever happened,” Klaus said, yet all my attention was on Mason. How can run away and leave him in the hands of a man like Klaus. I still remember how he told me he hated this place, so how can I leave him alone?
“No, I have to get my son,” I tried to break free but Jacob won’t let me. He held me firm and seeing this, Klaus’s eyes charged in anger.
“Get her, now!” he ordered his betas. Their blue eyes glowed under the moonlight as they came after me in their number. As they approached, Jacob held my hand. He helped me into the boat and before they could get to me we had already sailed away from shore.
“Mom,” Benjamin's agonizing voice echoed in the empty space. His yelling pierced deeper than any spear.
“Benjamin,” I called back in response but the fog had already covered the entire area. The current from the waterfall also drove our boat further away from land. There was no way to go back, and all I could do is wail in pain.
What have I done? I cried silently, with a stabbing pain in my chest. First was leaving my pack, and now my only son. What kind of mother am I? I wept bitterly.
I looked back at Jacob who was trying to keep the boat on course. “Turn the boat around,” I said and he looked at me. His eyes were mixed with both pity and uncertainty. But sympathy isn't what I want. I want my son back.
“I can't do that. And even if I wanted to, the current is too high.” He replied and I frowned.
“This is your fault,” I said as tears welled up in my eyes. “If you had let me find my son then none of this would have happened. I should never have left. I should not have trusted you,” I said and just then there was a bump and the boat shifted away from the initial path.
The waves drove us towards a more turbulent path of the waters, and Jacob quickly returned to trying to put the boat back on track.
“Isabella, please help me out,” he yelled and I grabbed another paddle from the boat. We tried our best but the wave was strong. It drove us further away towards another waterfall.
We kept trying but it was all to no avail, and despite our efforts the waves moved the boat to the water fall as we fell off.
