Chapter 3

ISABELLA P.O.V The only safe place was the human city which was several miles away from my pack, so I drove as fast as I could, far away from Derek’s madness and far away from my pack. How could my husband be so cruel, how could he change that much so soon? I thought to myself with tears still rolling down my eyes. I held on to the steering more firmly and I got flashbacks of all the challenges we went through before our marriage. Back then we overcame all obstacles together but how can we win now that we are apart and one of us happens to be the villain. If this was fate then I don't want it, I love my mate too much to leave him. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't hear my son calling out to me but when I finally did it was already too late. There was a large truck riding towards us and as our vehicle collided, the sparks from the clash sent my car tumbling over and again into the nearby forest until it landed upside down against a tree. "Benjamin," I whispered with blood dripping down my head and body as I reached my hand to my son who was hanging unconsciously on the seat belt but before I could reach him I blanked out. The next time I regained consciousness I found myself locked up in a dark and empty room. My wounds were almost healed but what I did not understand was why I was imprisoned instead of being in a hospital. I stared at the chains which were around my wrist and just then I remembered my son Benjamin who was in the car accident with me. "Let me out of here," I whispered, running up to the iron gate as I banged hard on it. "Let me out of here, anybody, please let me out." I yelled and still yelling the door opened up and two huge looking men walked in. Merely looking at them I could tell that they were werewolves. "Who are you and what have you done with my son?" I asked, staring at their eerie faces but without uttering a word they walked up to me, and grabbing me on each arm they dragged me out of the prison as they brought me before a stern looking werewolf who was sitting on a chiefly seat in a large hall. "Alpha Klaus, this is Isabella, Luna of the Wells pack," one of the betas said and as soon as I heard his name my heart began pounding in my chest. I have not seen his face before but I have heard news about him. He was well known as the conqueror, a name which he attained from destroying countless packs and taking away betas from other packs and turning them into slaves. "Where is my son?" I asked but he ignored my question as he stood up from his chair and then approached me with his eyes gleaming with obsession. "You are as beautiful as they say you are," he whispered reaching his hand to side of my face but I turned away swiftly. "Where have you been all these years? I have taken the mates of many Alpha's but have not found anyone as beautiful as you. Your eyes bloom like sunflower and your lips are as delightful as morning roses, Perhaps I should kill your son and have you make me an air that will take over when I am gone," He said as those words sent waves of anger crawling through my veins. "Don't you dare lay a finger on my son. Don't you dare touch him if not I will destroy you," I threatened but my words didn't seem to sway him instead it fuelled his obsession as he reached his hand to my hair running his fingers down my cheek bone like a lunatic. "I don't understand why Derek will wrong such a beauty like you, perhaps he is not worthy to be your mate, become my Luna and I will guarantee your child's safety and also help you punish Derek for all the pain he had cost you," he proposed still staring into my eyes and as his fingers approached my lips I pushed his hand away. "I will never marry you, never!" I whispered bitterly with tears in my eyes. "We will see about that, my love," he said softly and then turned to the two huge beta werewolves. "Lock her up and later in the morning I will hear her decision." "No," I whispered when the betas held me. "Klaus, where is my son, bring me my son!" I cried out loud attempting to free myself while they dragged me out of the hall. "Benjamin," I called out tears rolling down my eyes as I listened for even if it was a tiny response but there was none. My heart ached badly when they cast me back into my cell sliding the iron gate shut, and as they left, I wrapped my arm around the iron rods, peering out at them. "Let me out of here," I cried out hitting the iron gate severally in anger but they turned deaf ears to my pleas. Tears poured down my eyes again and I ran my hand through my brunette hair gently dropping myself on the floor. If only Derek was here he would have fought for me but he is not, my mate has betrayed me and now I am left alone with a man old enough to be my father obsessing over me. Even my son is taken away from me and I don't know how to save him or what they are putting him through. "I don't think i can take this anymore, I don't have the strength to win this battle alone," I said soberly as I buried my head on my arm. I was still weeping when a soft cough broke the silence and I looked forward to see an elderly woman sitting by the corner of the room. "Weeping will not solve your problem Isabella," the woman said softly as her words sent a shiver down my spine. How did she know my name? I wondered, cautiously approaching her, and as I got closer she reached her hand out to me. "Come here my child," she said faintly and I took hold of her hand. "I'm sorry ma'am but who are you?" I asked. "It doesn’t matter who I am, all you have to do is listen to me carefully," she replied. "If you want to leave this place you must accept Alpha Klaus's request on a condition that he gives you a young man named Jacob as your personal servant. He is the only one that can save you from this place, and if you fail to do it you will end up like the rest of us," she coughed hard and I held her hand more firmly. "Ma'am you have to rest," I said and she wagged her head at me. "When you meet Jacob, tell him that a woman named Maria asked you to choose him," she said with piercing sadness in her eyes and then she put her hand around mine. "Poor child, I can't imagine the pain my family has cost you and the ones that you are yet to discover," She coughed strongly again. Staring at her I could tell that she was already dying so I helped her lean her back on the wall. I looked at the fetters of iron they used to bind her feet on the floor and her hands which were chained with a much larger chain. I had never seen them use such measures to tame an ordinary werewolf before so why was she treated like this? "You must forgive your mate, Derek," she mumbled again and those words scared the world out of me. "Ma'am please tell me, who are you and how do you know so much about me?" I asked curiously and she looked me in the eyes again. "I am Derek’s grandmother, and Alpha Klaus is his father," she answered.
