Anaya grabbed hold of me as I walked passed the changing rooms. I almost shrieked in surprise as my books fell to the floor with a thud. and she put her hand over my mouth.
“What the hell!” I yelled pushing her off me feeling irritated. She lifted her nose into the air and started sniffing me.
“What’s your problem?”
She stood gawping at me before opening her mouth to speak. “I know what you are.” She finally said.
My brows furrowed with curiosity as I studied her face. I wondered if she were insane.
“You’re one of us.” She whispered before rushing out to the door, quicker than lightening.
I had no idea what she was talking about. I shook my head in amusement before grabbing my books and hurrying off to my last lesson.
Thanks goodness it wasn’t with that Anaya. I worried that she might be little bit of a nutter. I soon found my new friends and let them know what had happened.
Emie shot me a glare as Lennie entered the classroom. My heart started going crazy in my chest. This was not happening!
“Late again.” The teacher sighed shaking her head and glaring at him underneath her glasses. A few students laughed as Lennie joked about being trapped in the toilet. I blushed as he looked my way and he winked. Emie gave me a playful nudge and we both giggled quietly so as not to wind up the teacher. The last thing I needed was to get on the wrong side of the teachers.
Anaya would have thrown daggers if she had been witness to that wink. Not that I cared, she was a right weirdo.
“Fancy coming round mine after school?” Emie wanted to know.
I remember my mum saying I had to come straight home as she wanted to talk to me about something.
“Sorry can’t tonight.” I sighed, feeling disappointed as Emie and the other girls started to excitedly arrange their evening.
I looked up when I felt someone’s eyes burning into me.
Lennie.
He grinned and turned back to his work. I was confused, what was he trying to do to me?
I shook my head and got on with my work, forgetting all about Lennie and Anaya.
