It was hard for me to get my head around what I was seeing and hearing.
First my mother and father had gone all crazy and my mother was spouting some rubbish that I was not even her daughter.
As if that was not enough to be thrown in my face, I find out I have this secret twin sister that I literally knew nothing about.
Pinching myself to see if I am possibly dreaming.
Nope.
Anaya looks at me as if she wants to say something but then quickly changes her mind.
“What is that all about? Who the hell is she?” I found myself demanding to know from her.
Turning around in her seat to face me properly, Anaya rested her eyes on me and frowned.
“I think that she is your sister. It’s abit weird but you both are like the double of each other. After school today, you can come round and we can talk it though since Sadie wants to know the truth.”
Sadie?
So that was her name.
Sadie and Saskia.
They sounded good together.
Normal.
“No, this cannot be real. My parents would have told me if I were a twin.” I shook my head in denial.
I had refused to speak to my father after we got back home last night. He had already left the house this morning before I got up so we did not have to fade each other. The note that he had left made me scrunch it into a ball and launch it across the room.
My whole life was one big lie.
Anaya gave a sympathetic smile and offered me a sweet from her newly opened packet. I took one and thought how I would face this girl who claimed to be my sister.
“Stick with me today. It’s safer.” Anaya grabbed my arm as we made the way off the school bus. I hesitated and swung my bag over my shoulder. Anaya flicked her hair over her shoulder and looked at me expectantly.
“What?” I stuck my nose up as I shook myself free from her grip. She had some sharp nails that had no doubt marked my poor arm.
I wondered what my friends would have to say about this craziness. They would probably sit and laugh over it and then we would move onto something else.
“Saskia? Are you even listening?” Anaya sighed and rolled her eyes.
She was right though, I was not listening.
I felt someone’s eyes on me and could not bring myself to look away.
Lennie.
Something about him made me want to run and jump into his arms. Of course I managed to fight that urge since I knew that Anaya would get upset and probably start a fight over it.
The other reason being, he was a complete i***t!
“Lennie? Why you looking at her like that?” I saw a flash of jealousy wash over Anaya as she followed my gaze.
He shook his head as if throwing off some daze that he had fallen into.
“Umm.. nothing babe. Come on let’s go.” He held his hand out to Anaya quickly pulling his eyes away from me.
I do not know why but I felt a horrible tightening in my chest as I watched them go off together.
“I will see you at break.” Anaya called after me with this huge grin on her pretty face.
My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of Emie screeching my name. I looked up and saw that she was running towards me with her arms in the air.
She was dressed in jeans and a black jumper with her hair tied back into a French plait.
“Oh hello.” I said trying to hide the disappointment in my tone.
“What’s going on?” Emie stood a few centimetres in front of me and raised an eyebrow.
I groaned because that must have meant that she saw something that I would now have no choice but to explain about.
The sound of the bell ringing made me breath a sigh of relief.
“Urghh maths it is.” Emie chuckled as we headed towards the first lesson.
As we neared the classroom I felt my heart stop at the sight of them together.
Anaya being pinned against the lockers by Lennie with his tongue down her throat.
I wanted to rip her head off her shoulders and if it wasn’t for Emie dragging me to the classroom then I dread to think what would have happened.
“Is something wrong? You seem a little distracted!” Emie begun to question me as we sat at our tables and took out the relevant books. Placing my pencil case on my desk I clenched my teeth together and attempted to control myself.
I wanted to cry and let it all out.
Everything.
But I could not.
Lennie came into the classroom alone, searching the sea of heads until his beautiful eyes rested on me. I felt this overwhelming calm hit me as soon as our eyes locked. He slowly walked towards me and stopped in front of the table. Both hands resting on the edge of the table, he did not take his eyes off me.
“Meet me later.” He drawled and then winked before taking a seat at his own table.
My mouth fell open as a few heads turned to see what was going on while others whispered but I heard their words clear as day.
“Something must be going on between them two.”
“Does Anaya know?”
“Wow, they would be so hot together.”
I did not want to be in this room.
It was closing in on me. As I stood up to excuse myself from the lesson, I felt dizzy and quickly went out of the room.
I suddenly did not care that the tears were falling freely down my cheeks as I headed to the girls toilets down the hall. Luckily the corridor was empty.
I felt a whoosh behind me as if someone was chasing me.
Lennie.
I knew it was him straight away.
My stomach did an excited flip.
Pushing me into the cubicle, Lennie locked the door. Then he snaked an arm around my waist pulling me sixty degrees so that we were face to face.
He lifted his hand to wipe my tear stained face and then he stroked a stray strand of my hair back behind my ear. He was smiling like a Cheshire Cat and making my insides turn to mush.
What the hell was going on?
Anaya was going to kill me.
But I could not stop myself.
Lifting my chin up with one finger, he then used that finger to trade around my lips before bringing me slightly more closer. Then I just reached up and kissed him.
The thunder of pleasure that rippled through my body made me desperate for him to hold me even more closer. Putting my hands around his neck, he wrapped his arms around me and lifted me up and pinned me against the wall of the cubicle.
I let out a small moan of pleasure as his tongue pushed its way into my mouth.
That kiss was like nothing I had ever felt before. I did not want him to stop. My body felt like it were on fire from his touch. When we eventually came up for air, he grinned at me.
“You are mine.” He whispered in my ear before giving me one last kiss and then leaving me standing there alone in a daze of emotions.
What the hell just happened?
