Saskia’s POV
“What is going on?” I was so confused and afraid, that my voice came out all quiet and slightly croaky. Sadie glimpsed at me and pointed upwards and as she started to climb, I attempted to follow. She managed to pull me up into some tree house that was so well hidden, nobody would know it was there.
It was not very big but had a makeshift bed, a cupboard full of snacks and bottled water and even a toilet. Someone had built this with a lot of thought.
“This is my safe haven.”Sadie explained seeing my curiosity.
“Thanks. It’s great. I’m just unsure why I am even here. Like I don’t get what is going on. Who was that weirdo and what was he on about Lycan sisters?” I had so many questions that it was starting to give me a severe headache. Handing me a bottled water, Sadie slumped down onto the mattress and sighed with her eyes tight shut. It was as if she didn’t want to even mention anything about it to me. That’s why I thought it must be pretty bad.
This whole situation was weird as hell and I thought back to life when I was not even in this country. My life had gone downhill the moment that my parents had bought me here.
“Look Saskia, I get it you’re not going to understand but we look alike. We’re sisters. I am a werewolf. We have fated mates, I have these strong powers. My parents found me dumped under a tree when I was a baby and kept me as their own. Nobody knew otherwise. Luna Lara and Alpha Morgan have no idea about any of that. That freak in the woods thinks me and you are the lost Lycan sisters. I know it’s crazy. Hell I would think the same too if I were you, but I guess, anything’s possible. Right?” She shrugged her shoulders as she finished her little speech and I did not know weather to laugh or cry.
How was this even possible?
“Werewolves?” I mumbled trying to make some sense of it all and getting nowhere.
Sadie took my hands into hers and looked me in the eyes.
“Saskia, I’m telling you the truth. We werewolves do exist, you have a wolf ij there. It’s like your inner voice. Look we even have these necklaces. The same. This isn’t some prank.” Sadie insisted and I noticed the necklace she was wearing, she was right.
“Oh!” I exclaimed.
“We are the lost Lycan sisters. It makes total sense. We need to find out what the hell happened all their years ago.” Sadie whispered nervously eyeing the door of the tree hut.
“What is it?” I asked as quietly as possible.
“Someone is down there.” She told me.
I stood up and a horrible wave of nausea hit me.
Whoever it was, Sadie did not want them to know we were here. She started to spray some disgusting spray that made me cover my nose and mouth.
“This will hide our scents.” She explained before huddling into the mattress with me.
“We need to stay quiet as possible.”
