Chapter 3

1660 Words
GAIA POV My cheeks hurt from all the smiling and feigning laughter since that's all I’d been doing all the evening. The ceremony moved to the grand hall where the cake was cut, presents and wishes of happiness and wealth were given. It was a little after 7 pm and I was utterly worn out. I thank the Moon Goddess for giving me an idea of changing into a lighter dress and flat sandals because if not, I would have been a walking corpse. I took the wine glass from a passing waiter who made a small bow before scurrying off. My eyes roamed the large hall in search of Pallas. I caught a glimpse of him with a group of girls who were all hanging in his arms. Truth be told, Pallas had looks that melted most of the girls’ panties, however, he was not actually the kind of guy I wanted for myself. With a sigh, I walked towards the door in an attempt to escape. Since Pallas was busy, then I was going to hide in my glasshouse. Sadly, my need for a quick escape seemed to be impossible as I was stopped by almost every wolf and human to congratulate and wish me well. After what looked like 10 years of fake smiles and bows, I successfully made it out of the grand hall. I took quick steps that led to my glasshouse so that I didn’t get noticed by the guards who’d gladly haul my sorry ass back to the hall. But thanks to the Moon Goddess, I made it to the glasshouse. I opened the glass doors and smiled at the look of my flowers resting. They were all fresh and full of life but needed a little bit of mother’s touch to make them more alive. I moved between aisles of flowerpots to the far end of the glasshouse with my hands raised at my sides. Stems began moving, leaves rustling as they sucked the life out of my hands. Petals began unfolding, displaying their beautiful insides. I stopped in front of one anemone and inhaled its fresh scent. My nostrils flared and my eyelids fluttered close as I took in the lively fragrance of it. I smiled at it and moved to the aisle of daffodils. Their yellow petals were just so alluring. My fingers ghosted softly on the petals as I took slow strides beside them. My glasshouse was my safe fortress. Where I run to when everything seemed to be out of hand. In here, I knew I’d calm down as I breathed life into my flowers. Being around them gave me a sense of serenity. I stepped back from the aisle of daffodils and walked towards the Camellias. Beautiful blush pink camellias. Their stems shifted until the petals were all facing me. I moved my head next to one and inhaled deeply. That's when my wolf growled. Through a mind link, I said: ‘Will you shut up, please? I’m trying to savor this moment ‘I know! But there’s a strange aura. Too powerful to handle. It’s making me restless!’ she replied. And that is when I felt it too. A very strong pull caused tremors to run through me. The ground slightly shook and my flowers folded back in, hiding. Like magic, the aura disappeared. I slowly calmed myself down. And raised my hands again. Slowly, my flowers opened up again. ‘Maybe you are too tired. Today was very eventful.’ I said to my wolf which rolled eyes at me. I snorted at her. I walked around the glasshouse singing. Trying to calm the flowers since I scared them. I slowly sang a song my mom taught me when I was young. The flowers began humming, moving in a rhythm that created a small sound that went along with my song. I closed my eyes and smiled. Peace! “So she sings huh?” a strong manly voice rattled somewhere behind. My eyes snapped open as I turned to look at the intruder. But all the words caught in my throat when my eyes landed on the finest man I’d ever seen since I was born. He was tall, larger than life. His dark shiny medium-length hair perfectly highlighted his sharp jawline and the little stubble that ran down his cheeks had me swallowing my saliva. I was practically drooling until he said: “It is rude to stare at someone like that Alpha Gaia!” the words were accompanied by a very cocky smirk. I shook my head slightly and stood my ground. “You not supposed to be here. You are supposed to be in the grand hall with other guests!” my voice was stern, despite the drooling and my wolf which was dancing like crazy. I mind linked her: ‘Seriously? You can’t even handle the sight average-looking guy?’ ‘Average? You are kidding. This man is the hottest man in history!’ she retorted wagging her tail. ‘You one hell of a horny creature I’ve ever seen Silvanus!’ i replied cutting of the mind link and refocused to the perfect intruder. “I find it rather funny that you expected your guests to be cramped in the hall while you are busy with your…” he gestured around the glasshouse with his hand. My cheeks reddened from embarrassment because damn! He hit the nail on the head. Before I could reply to him, he said: “And oh, you may consider not shutting your wolf-like that again. It is rather entertaining to listen to it. At least she’s humorous than you!” and with that, he sashayed past me, delving deeper into the glasshouse. I felt even more flushed knowing that he heard my conversation with my wolf. I turned to rain all hell on him for intruding my space once again. And again, my words caught in my throat. With his back at me, I took a minute to carefully study him. He was wearing a neat maroon 3 pieced suites with a mid-leg cape instead of a blazer. He turned to look at a flower and I caught a glimpse of a gold brooch that ran across his chest securing the cape in place. This man really stood his ground. I opened my mouth for the third time trying to say something but he beat me to it: “I admired your performance today. How you made flowers sing, how your vibrations caused the ground to shake, and how you illuminated your wolf with light. It was beautiful.” He said stroking a poppy. “What is your name?” I asked, intrigued by how he knew almost everything, even about the mustering of light. “Pardon me Alpha.” He feigned a bow. Such a disrespectful fella. “My name is Dyaus.” he refocused his attention to poppy and ignored me. “Okay, Dyaus. This is what we are going to do! You are going to step back from that flower and gather all your paraphernalia and leave. This property is not open to the public.” I tried to believe that I sounded as stern as I wanted to be. He continued studying the little flower in front of him and ignored me. “You know, I’ve heard that when a flower lacks sunlight- or rather light, for a long time, it withers and dies. I really want to see how true that is!” his fingers moved to the stem of the flower where he slightly pressed a bit. Slowly the flower began withering. My eyes popped out of my sockets as I watched him such life out of my little flower. I yelled a panicked no. With so much anger that had me vibrating to the bones, I ran to the flower where I yanked his hand off the stem of a lifeless poppy. “How could you do that? You nearly killed it!” I was yelling at the top of my lungs. I lowered my face next to the withered petals and exhaled a gust of air onto the petal. Then touched its stem and began humming, summoning life to it. It unhurriedly came back to life. As soon as its petals began blossoming, I turned my face to him and ran smack dab into his chest. I raised my head to look at him. His perfect face was inches away from mine because he was looking down at me. Amusement wrote all over his face. “I’d rather say, you look hot when angry!” his minty breath caressed my face. I swallowed audibly. All clear thoughts ran out the door as I shifted my eyes from his lips to his eyes. At a closer distance, I was able to make out his eyes. They were….black! With a gold dot in the middle. Such unique eyes. The more I looked at him, the wetter I became. His hand landed on my cheek, his thumb moving lazily. He slowly drew my face closer to his as he bent down to… "Are you wearing contacts?" I inquired leaning backward! "Maybe!" he replied! Fucker! He leaned in slowly and his lips came to contact with mine; I couldn’t help but shudder. Silvanus gave a smile of contempt as my lips began moving in sync with his. His lips were full, lush, and hot. He increased the tempo, sucking on my lips as his life depended on them. A low growl escaped his throat as his hand moved from my ass to the area between my legs, bundling my dress up. His fingers ghosted on my lace panties, causing a shudder to tear through me. His lips left my mouth and moved to my neck. Where he slowly sucked, with gentle nips and bites here and there. Against my better judgment, I gave in to Dyaus and let him manipulate my body in my glasshouse!
