Chapter 5

CHAPTER 5 GAIA POV It has been two days since the coronation. Two days of endless fantasy about the audacious arrogant brunette haired bastard with a pair of alluring eyes. Two days of trying to bring myself to the pinnacle he made me reach, but it was just so impossible. There was just something about him. The mystery, the arrogance, the way he carried himself around my personal space. Somebody clearly doesn’t know anything about personal space. It was really a shameless thing to be craving for his touch.  I was a princess, a born Alpha who will soon lead the Yukon Pack. I shouldn’t have succumbed to the pleasure and led him have his way with me like he did but boy he knew the right buttons to press. He knew where to knead, where to mold and where to caress. All my life, I have never c*m as hard as I did on someone else’s fingers like that. It was intense and I couldn’t bring myself to stop thinking about it. The previous day I had visited the castle library after asking myself to send the list of the coronation attendees. I shuffled through files and documents looking for the name Dyaus, but came out empty handed. Talk about frustration. To stop the ping of sadness, I tried to assure myself that he didn’t really matter and that I was just looking for his name so that I know where he belongs to. But to my luck which is clearly rotten, I returned empty handed. With a heavy sigh, I turned to my bedside table and switched off the night lamp. The curtains danced from the wind that swirled into the room through wide open windows. The breeze was gentle, leaving trails of kisses down my half naked body. I tried to close my eyes to summon sleep when Silvanus pecked its ears; catching the same aura I felt when I first met Dyaus. I jolted from my bed and looked around the room. ‘You do feel that right?’ Silvanus questioned curiosity and alertness dripping from her voice. I shushed her and got of the bed then stealthily roamed the room, looking for the point where the aura came from. To my luck, I realized the aura came from…Everywhere around my room. It was such a majestic force that filled me with what felt like power. It made me want to defy the odds, to test the limits. It also felt like hunger. Like I was missing something that only IT can provide. Silvanus wagged her tail, alert, ready to pounce at whatever that may appear from the shadows of my dark room. After what felt like an eternity of hunger and whatever I was feeling at the moment, the aura slowly subsided, faded until on the breeze of the night was audible. It just, vanished, like it was never there. “Well, that was strange!” I mind-linked Silvanus who rested on her belly. ‘Not so strange actually. But I was expecting something like this to happen sooner or later!’ The declaration caught my attention. “And why in the universe would you think the aura or scent or whatever you call it that surely belongs to that asswipe would come sooner or later?” I asked lying back on my bed. She snorted before replying me. ‘I don’t know. It just felt like things were left undone, like there was more to it than he let you see.’ Who was this and what have they done to my horny she-wolf? “What do you mean by that? Are you trying to say that I should’ve had s*x with him?” I emphasized on HIM knowing that shed have my head for breakfast. And that is what she did. ‘Hah! Like you didn’t spend the whole damn day trying to trace him or find anything about his possible existing. No matter how much you may want to deny it, the truth is, that man, is totally something else. And we are part of that something else.’ she was serious by now. No signs of playfulness evident. “My dear darling wolf, are you implying that we found our mate? Or you want Dyaus to be your mate?” I teased her. She literally huffed at me. ‘Moon Goddess what did I ever do to deserve such a stupid human?’ with that, she turned off the mind-link and left me laughing my ass off. But after fits of laughter, her words slowly sunk in. I tried to clue them together, to find the meaning or anything I can grasp on, but I had nothing. But I knew deep down that she was telling the truth. The hunger, the desperateness for power and all sorts of emotion that aroused in me when that special aura was around, they were all out of this world. And it scared the s**t out of me to realize that I have never felt that way with anyone before. Except the mysterious Dyaus! I shook my head trying to clear the perplexing thoughts. I called on to nature and soon, sleep engulfed me. But just right before my mind went black, the voice I could identify from the millions whispered: “I’M COMING FOR YOU KITTEN!” And then followed darkness!   I woke up to the smell of freshly baked cookies and a soft humming by Melina. I opened my eyes slowly and blinked rapidly to clear out the light to find her dusting off on the cushions. When she realizes that I was awake, she turned to give me a small curtsy before she greeted me with her soft voice. Although she was human, Melina had a fair share of looks. Her round face was complemented with dark bushy eyebrows and lashes you’d kill for. Her amber hair cascaded down her shoulders, framing her face. Her nose stood sharp and she had the most beautiful brown eyes. “Rise and shine princess.” She said with a beaming smile. “Good morning Melina how are you?” I said through a yawn and stretched. We exchanged pleasantries as I slowly got out of bed. “You look…Fresher than ever!” she observed with amusement dripping from her voice. I recalled back to last night. The aura and then the whispered promise. If it was a promise. Unless everything was just in my head and I just imagined the whole aura episode and in reality, it never really happened. But it felt so real. Everything felt so real! “Ohh, it’s because I had a goodnight sleep.” I replied walking into the bathroom where I took a quick shower. She insisted on helping me since it was part of her job but I stopped her and told her to look after something else. She acquiesced and left me to myself. I caressed my body playfully and cursed as soon as Dyaus clouded my mind. He really was getting under my skin and honestly, I kind of enjoyed it. Although I wanted to hate it at the same time. After a few minutes of dancing under spraying water, I got out of the shower to an awaiting towel. Melina took her rightful place behind me as she helped me dry my hair. After that, I dressed into a neat pair of jeans and a chiffon blouse. Melina had my platinum hair bundled in a messy bun. I completed the look with a pair of maroon slip-ons. Once I was satisfied with my reflection I walked out of my room to my father’s office, leaving Melina to her work. I really needed help if I was going to trace Dyaus. I couldn’t do it alone. I cascaded down the long stair cases that led to the third floor of the castle, where the office was located. I took jumpy steps towards the door but came to an utter halt when I heard murmurs and sobs from the room. I engaged on my wolf hearing to have a clear sound. The murmurs came from my father, the sobs from my mother. I perched my ear to the door to listen better; “Dante I know you can do something, anything. We just can’t let him take our daughter. She’s going to be the leader!” my mother wailed. But her words caught my utmost attention. Who was I going to be given to? “You do know that I would have done something already to stop him. But you know who he is; you know what he is capable of. He made it crystal clear that its either I hand Gaia to him, or he raids our pack!” my mouth gaped open and I pushed the doors open, only to find my mother huddled next to my father who had an arm around her shoulder. Their eyes flew to my frozen physique by the door. Their eyes were wide. “Father, who is going to raid our pack if I’m not given to him?” I had millions of emotions swirling around me that I felt dizzy. My father looked to my mother with a defeated look before looking at his feet with a heavy sigh. “Father tell me. What is going on?” why were they so scared? So defeated? My father raised his face and looked at me. His face had what looked like regret. That was not a good sign. “You know that I love you with my whole heart Gaia. But this, this is way beyond me. We know what you are capable of as the Child of Heavens and that means that from the beginning, we knew that your mate wasn’t going to be someone ordinary. But we didn’t know that it was him. He was here on your coronation baby girl. He wants you with him and he’s coming for you.” He finished his words while facing down on his hands that were moving uncontrollably. His last words resembled “I’m coming for you kitten!” but I knew that could only be a mere coincidence. “Who is he? And why did I not recognize him since he was here?” I questioned. He took a shaky breath and replied: “Alpha Zeus of Kratos Pack is your mate Gaia!” those words knocked the air out of my lungs and had the ground I was standing on crumble. I fell on my knees. Tears welled in my eyes as I began to let it all sink in. “No no no no no it must be a mistake. I am not Zeus’s mate. I could have felt it and…and he was not here. How could he be my mate? Moon Goddess nooo…!” I wailed. How can the universe have such a twisted joke? How could I, the Child of Heavens be a mate of the cruelest Alpha’s of all the times? I was a pure werewolf, born of two Alphas. I deserved a true Alpha as my mate. Not some half breed vampire werewolf freak that turned killing into a hobby. “Father please! You cannot let him take me. He will kill me. You’ve heard stories. You’ve heard what he does to people, to everyone! Please don’t let him take me!” I cried my lungs out. My mother’s sobs resurfaced and she added the fuel to the inferno. “I am sorry Gaia. But we have to sacrifice you for the pack!” And just like that, my whole world collapsed.
