I WAS SMILING IN the chest of the guy I once hated. I never would have thought would do so much for me. Let alone surprise me on my birthday. I couldn’t hide my joy as my hands placed themselves on his back grabbing his polo shirt. “Thank you, Ceasar.” I mumbled while my face was still buried in his chest. He grinned while embracing me back, “What’s there to thank for, Ms. Trina? Aren’t we friends now?” Then I realized the whole classroom was staring at us. I gathered my composure and pulled myself backward, keeping my distance from the guy I was hugging. Another party popper was popped and everyone screamed, “CUT THE CAKE! CUT THE CAKE!
