A SMILE DISPLAYED on my lips as soon as I opened my eyes the next morning. The soft morning glow of the sunlight caressed my skin. I moved and the feeling of ease and happiness flooded into my veins. Today feels like a good day. I don’t know but turning 18 years old yesterday felt like a smooth transition to another phase of life that awaits me. And knowing I celebrated it along with the mundane moments of life and unexpected moments with a friend. I feel stronger knowing that growing up, I didn’t thrive while enjoying the best of things. Instead, I learned to push through even when situations were hard. I still thank those people for bringing me a little joy. It matters so much to someone like me. Grabbing my towel, I got up and went straight to the bathroom. I don’t know but I stayed
